You can truly feel the desperate, unhinged rage in the sitar and dance. What a brilliant performance!
@@gaaanaaa it's okay
I watched this live in Bangalore, India in December and it sounded DOUBLE the emotions with her whole band!
I agree so much
yes. you can feel it.
It is not rage . It is passion
may our fury be always fueled by compassion and never by hatred! may all women and all beings be free from suffering!
❤️🔥
This is an especially important statement in today's world. I see so much hatred fueling those seeking change; that change can't be for the good if hatred is the tool that brings it!
May all just persons be free of suffering and may all evil mindedness perish
@@mud5377 none can match my hatred or fury. Call my rage something holy carve it into a temple let the wind take take these ashes and build a fire goddess
@@derekstaroba Well all I can say is: I'm glad you're on the side of goodness. I tend to think that something about being evil makes people weak, doing the right thing is often the hard path.
didn’t know someone could shred on a sitar until today. wonderful performance
She is a true master, as was her father before her.
You know, "shredding" is just the latest version of virtuosity. It's nothing new, and Sitar soloists are extreme virtuosos. Indian musicians as a whole - the training and dedication is intense. The most amazing thing is, to this day most women aren't allowed to follow this traditional path. Thanks to her father who went against this stupid rule, we can all appreciate this majestic performance!
Check out Dancing in Madness
@@jas_batailleno I would say , Indian classicals r heavily followed by women and they are also supported..?!
@@jas_batailleshredding isn’t JUST virtuosity, it also carries a connotation of being very rapid, passionate, and intense. Which, depending on the instrument, doesn’t necessarily require great skill.
Do not forget her name: JYOTI SINGH PANDEY. Do not forget her name: MAHSA AMINI. Power to women against religion, oppression, discrimination, and negligence. Power to women of the world!
Don't conflate God with church. There is no power in giving yourself to your ego. The ego is a lost and confused little ghost.
@@arnavsingh8840 this song has a political view, so...
@@mortgrl what's the story behind the song... I'm curious?nvm I googled the names and the incidents are hellish
@@arnavsingh8840 it's not about politics it's about justice
@@arnavsingh8840 did we watch the same video lmao this video is explicitly about the horrors women face. you would rather we just enjoyed the music and ignored the message in the video? moderates will be the death of civilization.
Thank you Anoushka for putting in music and dance the holy rage we all feel. May all women be free of fear. 🙏🏻
SO BE IT!!!
What about men who are suffering under women in this modern world! Let everyone be at peace! Let every soul be at peace! I pray to supreme for that!
Absolute chills. “let us collect as sisters in mourning” so so powerful.
IN HER NAME
What do you call the ashes of a girl if not sacred?
When the embers are cradled by the wind,
do the gods cry for what could have been?
If it is cruel hands that have taken a life,
why then do we forget the injustice?
Instead, let us collect as sisters in mourning.
Let our Fury echo through the pages of history.
Do not let this death be quiet,
like all the thousands before it.
Time cannot devour
what we will not allow to be forgotten.
So do not forget her name;
Remember her.
Remember every girl like her who was lost to us.
Every girl who prayed to a god that abandoned her.
Call your rage something holy;
Call it the best incarnation you have ever known.
Make the goddess of justice we all deserve;
The kind of divinity we can all truly believe in.
Carve a temple made of a fire,
which never dies until we are all… safe.
Let the wind take these embers,
these ashes, and
Build a goddess of wildfire, in her name
♥
~ Poem by Nikita Gill.
The entire work was amazing. These words… they are profound.
Poetry, Incantation, Channelling 👌🏼
Благодарю 🙏😇😇😇🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🌞🌞🌞🍀🔥🌈❤️
❤
“Call your rage something holy” because it is.
💚
This took me by surprise. I'm in tears. So overwhelmed. Power to the Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Goddess, Gaia, the Divine Feminine ✨ 💖
Jai Sri Radhe
As a man I would prefer a matriarchal society, for sure we will have less war
@@Pl4sm0 my male partner often says this to me, too.
@@LaceyMyriah he's sage
yesssss
"What do you call the ashes of a girl, if not sacred" sooooooo soooo powerful!
Absolutely profound. This performance feels like a collective expression of every woman's deeply buried rage. Brilliant.
I have no idea how I stumbled upon this, but this is the best thing I've witnessed in a very long time. So blessed to have this piece here.
This is soooo metal!!
So damn heavy
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh it reminds me of Bloodywood, but more of a graceful, feminine rage!!! ("Dana Dan" czcams.com/video/a65A626Ed20/video.html)
If there's a subgenre with more of this I would totally love to hear hours of it!
If not, let this masterpiece inspire many artists to create more music like this.
she has a Flamenco concert, that is much like this, you gotta check it out.
Sitar is the magical Indian instrument! Her father and her both are excellent in playing it. God tier infact
Wow, this is some elite music, I am in the music realm for around 9 years and I forgot music can be this pure and powerful
Such a blessing it was to hear this piece live in Mumbai.
Now I know that it can be done.. and I shall try to reach this before I go.
You express our rage through your Sitar Anoushka. Simply Brilliant!
So powerful. I hope this prayer reaches many women around the globe.
I can feel the rage.. the love the pain.. in the melodies of the sitar.. truly brilliant
She is so right about anger especially in politics. I love this perspective of making it holy because so many times we can get wrapped up in our anger and our own righteousness that it becomes self destructive. This video reminds me to be safe when using anger as a tool, embody justice not war.
Righteous, angry, beautiful, powerful. Thank you.
Thank you to each and everyone who has participated in creating this masterpiece. We need all of us to come together to help us rise together. A world where any being is tormented we all face the loss and the consequences together. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks a lot❤
The rage of the repressed feminine in every man and woman.
Exactly in every man and woman
In every man, woman, and those between.
@@tortis6342 in every human! we're all wronged by society in different ways
Just women.
I strongly disagree with the notion of this applying to the repressed feminine within men. That spirit or nature already possess a vehicle for expression through the power commonly found within the divine masculine. Patriarchal power structures demonstrate this in my eyes. Leave this expression for those who are wholly women.
Such a powerful prayer for justice, Thank You!
Abstract bharatnatyam 😯
Anoushka Fire, Anoushka Roar..SO TOTAL. Pure Zen.
Feminine fury, encase me with your flame. And burn the one, burn the one to blame. - Lukyan
This is a work of art and I will heed to its call. Thank you
Now this is called art
The sitar is raging 😳
This is powerful, stunning, righteous. Anoushka and Mythili, you left me breathless.
My girlfriend recommend this to me and she wanted me to acknowledge that. Good recommendation, babe.
Stree is sakti. Thank you mam for resonating this truth through your rendition. Hopefully it will stir the dormant souls who think otherwise. Nowadays protest are vociferous. I am so grateful to stumble upon such gentle yet soul rendering way of protest.
Now THIS is female rage. Breathtaking.
Welcome back Anoushka😍
Yes. I hope this catches like fire and sparks many lives to action.
Please play in (or near) Santa Fe, NM before too long.
There is a movement to bring justice for indigenous women whom have been disappeared, may this tune reach them and catalyze a solidarity across the cultures…
Much Love, Respect, and as always,
~Peace~
Powerful and Poignant 🙏🏾💙
I started breathing differently, closed my eyes and let the sound lead me. So powerful. Emotional.
the feeling i have after watching this is far more powerful than words i have to explain it.
Thank you Anoushka for the most WONDERFUL concert in Mumbai - You did reach my heart, again with music and appearance.
Best 6 minutes of my day.
and What a wonder full message, "Time can not devour, what WE will not allow to be forgotten."
The way this message has been sent through the music is so great and brilliant! Lots of love and respect to anoushka shankar ma'am and all other artists! ✨🌼
THE POWER OF MUSIC IS ENDLESS! ✨
in her wake, she has left triumphant footprints. thank you
What a brilliantly powerful and thought provoking composition! Every string beautifully depicts the struggle and pain of the women who have been through hell and hindrances yet hope bloomed inside them. Poetry merged with music and movement. Let's unite together by not kneeling infront of the death, by standing strong together against the wrongdoers.
Absolutely incredible. Mythili Prakash - you blew my mind with the choreo and performance
Truly magnificent. Whenever she comes to Vancouver, Anoushka's concerts are always sold out. After seeing and hearing this you understand why.
Namaste
To all of the women in the world.
The ones before us.
The women at this moment.
The ones to come after us.
women don't need no other power ...but over themselves
Women are an impersonification of the divine feminine, Shakti. The force of nature, Prakriti (the entire exterocepted world). The force of shrishti (creation/manifestation) Maya. Carrying the potential of motherhood and infinite love. Justice will be served in due time, and societies where they are served faster will be prosperous and happy.
Música de gran belleza, gracias Anoushka desde Colombia.
Yesterday's live performance at mumbai was amazing.

This is holy anoshka, her beautiful anger shall awake this earth.
Goddess, rising, Great Mother , Aw so, such power, greatest glory, all the earth shall shake with joy. The great I am uniting the people in holy union.
Miss Anoushka shredding it as always!🙏❤
Man and woman are two manifestations of the Brahman. They are just equal. Just remember Soul has no sex.♾️
The rise of godesses power and mutual respect has arrived!
I am in love with how you combined all of these mediums and created such a cohesive message. Not only that but they enhanced one another in telling the story!!Absolutely gorgeous!! Great work!!
The fact that Nils Frahm produced. Wow!😳That's what this level of art commands.
Amazing and magnificent from beginning to end ✊🏾🔥✊🏾 May we all be safe May we all continue to raise our voices.
My brain was blown to pieces... Pure Fire!
This was probably an algorithm amomaly for this to fall in my recommended, but I welcome it wholeheartedly. This was beautiful and touching. I hope this video reaches everyone and fuels the fire within girls and self-reflection within boys. I hope we are one day able to reach a world of equality and safety for all humans. Thank you so much.

Anoushka is everything her father was and more!
I love media as important as this. We need more of this creativity and talent used as a tool to fuel the righteous anger and action taken from it ❤
What a powerful creation!!! Got goosebumps.
Om Shanti Om 🎶🙏
Namaste🙏, love from Bharat 🌸🍏🍉
The dance makes me more and more think of Shiva.
Beautiful, strong, relentless, ragefull.
huge fan from Sri Lanka love your music.
such a intense composition and choreography.
Riveting power in every beat, word, and movement!
Fantastic. Simply amazing. This screams to be listened to and taken in, in its whole. You can feel the fury through the screen and headphones.
Brava!!! All Glory to the Great Mother!!! May there be safety and peace for the hunted and the meek!!!
Profound, powerful and stunning.
time cannot devour what we don't allow to be forgotten! 🔥
A very commendable "ARTISTIC SOLIDARITY" -- very vividly expressed.
This was so good... It reminded me of all the young women lost to femicides here in Mexico... Wish we could still do community captions because this needs Spanish subtitles!!
The pain seen on your face while playing Sitar, is in your music too
When in Hyderabad your musical Day and Night 🙏
This is deep on so many levels. Tablas sitar and bass!
I had no idea you could bend notes like that with a sitar…wild
बहुत खूब दीदी
I proud of you
Amazzzzing boom booom great work she's the girl of king ravi shankar
okay wow.... this is way better than what I have heard of music of sitar seriously.. its mesmerising
The more respect, the safer you will become ❤
Very powerful, keep telling the stories of women through your music and giving voice to their pain so that they can begin to heal. Many blessings to you

Brilliant. Love your music and the way you have made the song and video into a very powerful painting in motion. Stunning!
I can believe in the warmth of justice
Not sure why this was reccomended but I am digging it. Forget a good bass solo, this is a treat.
"call your rage something holy" so pretty and inspring. thank you Anoushka for this work of art. the music is truly beautiful.
Love love the Sitar and her playing 🙂🙂
She learnt from the master.
So smooth and vibrant 🙌
Courage the Cowardly Dog Vibes ❤❤❤❤❤❤ luvv
Let the wind take these embers these ashes ,, and build a goddess of wildfire in her name🔥💥🔥
Thank you for a great performance and dance performance!❤
Power of music and of the ever present Shakti - femininity is a force of nature - your actions determine whether you bring out her joy or deserve her wrath!
🙏🏼Jai Shakti Joy Maa Kali❤
I met a grandmother in Hampi who had sacrificed her whole life for looking after her son. He had been made imbecile by wealthy industrialists in Gopal who never looked back. Never forget her name, Mother of the World.
The part at 2:45 reminds me of the film “The Warriors” where the radio host essentially declares the warriors as enemies. There’s something soothing yet cautionary. A perilous message that commands your utmost attention.
is a fine artist, impressive performance and female empowerment!
