I’ll try to explain the meltdowns. Basically they set a timer on a certain amount of abnormalities depending on the meltdown level. If the timer reaches zero before an agent works with the abnormality the abnormality’s qliphoth counter (the little number on the top left of the abnormality’s chamber) will immidiatly hit zero. For most abnormalities this means breach but this isn’t always the case as some cannot breach and instead will mess with your facility in some other way. Edit: if the meltdown timer hits zero it will also take some of the energy you gathered for the day.

Qliphoth meltdowns will select random abnormalities and put them in a usually dangerous state where if that countdown timer reaches zero before you work with it at least once then it will drop the Qliphoth counter to 0, which will let the abnormality escape, or trigger whatever downside that abnormality has when that happens. It doesnt do anything to you because you dont have any abnormalities that can escape. it also takes away a little bit of your energy if its not taken care of but that doesnt rly do much at all. hope with helps :3

(I love how we're just making Para do a series of Lobotomy Corporation through challenges alone.) Also, to answer your questions, a Qliphoth Meltdown occurs when the red metre underneath the energy quota (Top-left) is filled. When work begins on an abnormality, the metre increases. When a Qliphoth Meltdown occurs, a number of abnormality containment chambers sustain said meltdown. What this means is that you have a set period of time to dispatch an agent to that containment chamber to conduct some form of interaction with it. This "meltdown work" does *not* increase the red metre in the top-left. You can see how much time you have left to respond to a Qliphoth Meltdown by looking at the gauge that appears above the containment chamber's window. The containment chambers in question will also have a flashing red border on them. If you fail to address a containment chamber with a Qliphoth Meltdown in progress, the Qliphoth Counter for that abnormality will deplete (If it has one), and you will also lose a fraction of energy you've currently accrued for your quota. You can see how many containment chambers will have a meltdown by the red number to the right of the metre. On occasion however, you will notice that the number is replaced by a time of day. This is known as an Ordeal. The time of day listed as well as the colour of the text itself indicate what kind of Ordeal will generate. That giant robot that appeared at the end of the one work day was what's known as a "Green Dawn" Ordeal. Ordeals are periodic hazards that may generate on a Qliphoth Meltdown instead of causing containment chambers to meltdown. To get rid of them, you simply have to defeat the entities spawned by the Ordeal. Selecting an entity will show you its resistances, which is important to ensure an effective takedown. Once you complete an Ordeal, you get an amount of energy equal to a set percentage of your quota. The more complex the ordeal, the more energy you gain. There are four times of day for an Ordeal: Dawn, Noon, Dusk, and Midnight. The later into the day, the more dangerous the Ordeal. There are also six different colours of Ordeals too, each with its own theme. Amber (Orange. Insect-like entities), Crimson (Red. Clown-like entities), Green (Ancient Machine-like entities such as the one you saw), Violet (Purple. Ethereal/Otherworldly-like entities), Indigo (Blue. Modern-like entities. That is, modern to the game's setting), and White (Contracted-like entities. Again, based upon the game's setting). You will not see Indigo until later into the game around the mid-game, and you won't see White until basically the end-game. So don't worry about those two for now.
