  • In this video, my brother Avery and I provide our first driving impressions, an overview of the 392 AEV build, discuss the options and features, and talk about the value of this amazing package.
    Apologies for some wind noise during our initial walk-around. The weather was not pleasant!

    Awesome rig and great video. Our roads here in Michigan are worse than some “off road trails” I’ve ran. 🤦‍♂️

    Nice. I was not aware of this package.
    I own a 392 XR and absolutely love it. I think the OEM did a great job on this vehicle. A little more lift, better MPGs, and better out-of-the-hole times, and it rolls on 35s with different shocks. I think the 4K asking price gave me most of the AEV features for about 25% of the price. The 4.56 gears are much better and you get better performance on bigger tires. Offroad + is all that it was meant to be with 4.56 gears. Further, I have listened to other exhausts, but never heard any real improvement in sound quality. Most also lose the stealth mode. So if you just like the look of an aftermarket exhaust then so be it. But I think the guys at Jeep did a great job out of the box. An American-made G-Wagon from the OEM. I used to own a Jeep Mojave with the 6-cylinder Pentastar. Loved the look, but the long wheelbase along with no V-8 umph led me to trade it in for a 392 XR.
    Cheers guys...keep up the good work,
    Gary

      Well said. And thanks for watching and the kind words. I agree. The 392 XR is a force to be reckoned with out of the box and really provides a great, usable package from factory. A must have over standard with 4.56, 35s, etc. Shame MSRP keeps rising, but Jeep is not alone in that regard. Bronco Raptor MSRP is up $10k from 2022 to 2023. The comparable 392 XR is still in the $80s, which in my eyes is still a great value. We will have to see once ‘24 pricing is announced or course. But glad the V8 is sticking around.

    Agreed, no real equal out there, Wranglers are great since you can personalize them.

    Are you concerned at all about overheating with the bumper and lights blocking airflow? Did you ask AEV about that?

    • @p_kf
      @p_kf  Před 2 lety

      Good question. No, I am not concerned. AEV informed me that the bumper was designed with those possible issues in mind. I've checked respective temps many times while driving from the 30s all the way to 90+ degrees and all temp ranges have been normal.

      Louisville. They are a great bunch to work with. They can do it all remotely, e-sign, delivery, etc.

    Can you tell me what paint and color you used for the wheels? I'm trading in my '21 392 for a '24, and your setup is the way I'd like to go.

    • @p_kf
      @p_kf  Před 6 měsíci +1

      AEV paint matched the wheels bronze to match the OEM 392 bronzed logo theme.

    Cool Jeep! Between your left tail light and tailgate handle, you have some type of black accent there. Is that a sticker? Where'd you get it? Looks great!

    • @p_kf
      @p_kf  Před 2 lety

      Thanks a lot! It’s part of the branding package from AEV when you order the JL370 package. On non-392s, AEV also adds a similar decal design on the hood at the front.

      @p_kf  Před rokem +1

      None. Had a lot of fun with it. Not a single issue. Sold it after 9800 miles from new. Hope you enjoy yours

    • @ronnelalejandro3003
      @ronnelalejandro3003 Před rokem

      Any reason why you sold it? Not keeping it for a while. Im mean it looks like a 110 depender in this color.Im still hesitating for my order, reliability wise. I mean its 90k truck.

    Poor grill slots covered by lights and brush guard. Guess it doesn't hinder the cooling eh.

    • @p_kf
      @p_kf  Před 2 lety

      No, it’s engineered such that optimum cooling is still achieved based on the way it’s fixed to the front fascia. Much of the cooling on the 392 is handled by the functional ram air scoop on the hood as well.

      @@p_kf thanks for answering the question with a question. I work with a guy like that as he thinks he’s the smartest. At this point I really lost interest in what AEV is. Looks like aftermarket parts to me but the way the video carried on a person could think it was stock and I don’t believe it is.
