    Thank you for putting together this video. Can gopro 12 pair with any BT microphones ? ( or do they have a limited set of brands ? )

      Hey Sony! Thanks for your comment and so glad to hear you found my video helpful. Gopro has a list of Bluetooth devices the Hero 12 can connect to on its website but I was able to connect my earbuds - which weren't listed - without an issue. Just put your mic in pairing mode and it should be able to connect. What brand is your mic, Sony ?

      @@AdventureTimMedia Thanks a lot Sir. I'm trying to do something unusual. I ride motorcycles. We use Sena for our group communications during riding. I generally have a Gopro mounted on my motorcycle's crash guard. Each Sena device ( mounted om the helmet ) is also capable of connecting to an extra BT device. So I wanted to investigate the possibility of connecting my Sena to GP12 so that I can record our group conversations on my GP videos which will make the videos more interesting...

      @@francisantony12 Oh wow ! That's such a cool idea. You may get some background noise but you will lessen it if it's inside your helmet

      @@francisantony12 that is a really great idea! I'm brainstorming how to do this whitewater kayaking but I think we all get too wet. So I'll save it for flatwater trips with my mom who is full of ridiculous stories that don't get caught on camera.

      The essence of using the special brands is, that camera could send a beep feedback, when the camera fulfilled the voice command.
      It is crucial, if the camera is out of sight (for example on the helmet).
      The list of earbuds in the gopro's article neither full nor accurate however.
      For the feedback, the earbuds have to implement bluetooth's HFT v. 1.8 protocol.
      The new Samsung Galaxy Buds FE doesn't work in that way, despite the brand is in the list.
      It would be especially useful, to get a correct list, but the manufacturers very rarely provide detailed bluetooth's protocol specification.
      (Sorry for my awful English)

    This is very helpful. Thank you. I was able to connect my bluetooth to my aviation headset microphone which is almost certainly not a typical blue tooth device to connect with (they are headsets for pilots specifically). The headset is a DC1X.

    Excellent. Do you know if the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro is supported?

      Hey Rich, thanks for your comment. I'm pretty confident it would be. I have a pair of no name earbuds I bought from Anazon for $50 and a pair of $400 headphones and they both pair without any issue. Hope this helps.

    So what are your thoughts on this? I’ve been using Hypersmooth On and Linear + Horizon Lock and so far, it looks pretty good to me. I do a lot of panning shots, so would you say it makes sense to use both features?

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hey Rising Sun, thanks for your comment. I use almost identical settings on my GoPro. Occasionally I'll use the wide lens but I prefer linear amd horizon lock most of the time. A decent tripod with a nice smooth horizontal action would also come in real handy for panning shots too. Thanks for watching. I'm looking fwd to checking out your content

    Can you also at the same time connect the GoPro to the app w WiFi so you can see the preview on your iPhone. GoPro cameras on the top of my helmet and I can’t really see if it’s on

      Hey Robert! Thanks for your question. I've just done a test tonight and yes, you can use a wireless mic and see the preview on the quik app!
      I paired my headphones up with the gopro first. ( swipe down from the rear screen , then swipe right and tap 'pair' and then go into pairing mode on your headphones.
      I then jumped into the app, and connected to the gopro via WIFI and it worked a treat ! hope this helps!

    Can’t seem to do this with hero 11. Is it possible to connect to 3rd party Bluetooth device like a Cardo?

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  Před měsícem +1

      Hey @motobrewski ! Thanks for your comment. This feature was only introduced on the Hero 12 so unfortunately you can't connect it to a Hero 11 in this way. Cardo should work fine with the Hero 12 though. I have tested a range of Bluetooth devices with it - including cheap products I bought on #Amazon - and haven't had any issues so I'm confident that Cardo would work.
      One idea for the Hero 11 would be to put it in a media mod, and then connect a wireless mic receiver to it and attach the mic to your bike helmet. I use a Hollyland wireless mic and I reckon this could work.
      You would have the cost of the extra equipment though.
      Hope this helps.

    So basically through the headphones, you’re listening to the sound that the GoPro is actually recording?

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  Před 7 měsíci

      Hey Todd, that's right and you are using your headphones to record you from a decent distance away from your camera. There are a thousand different situations you can use this feature. Thanks for watching,

  • @toddtreat9567

    I cannot get one person that has the headphones and a GoPro to tell me why would you buy a headset and why is it not allowing you to hear what your recording while you’re recording??? Nobody can answer this question?

    • @AdventureTimMedia
      @AdventureTimMedia  Před 7 měsíci

      Hey Todd, Thanks for your comment. Wearing a headset with a mic has lots of benefits. If you want to set your camera up away from you and comment on a scene - as long as you are within the distances listed in the video - you can still add your commentary via the mic on your headphones. As you are recording you can hear what is happening all around you aswell as any voice over you may be making. Are you having issues hearing audio via your headphones while recording this way on your hero 12?
