- Duval Street is the most famous street in Key West. It is known for its night life, architecture, restaurants, bars, and attractions. It is named after William Pope Duval, the first territorial governor of Florida and is just over 1.25 miles in length. The south end of Duval Street is close to the buoy marker for the Southernmost point in the Continental United States, only 90 miles to Cuba. Popular spots on Duval Street include Sloppy Joe's, the original Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Willie T's, and Bourbon Street Pub.

I remember when the original sloppy Joe's had a dirt floor. Maybe it still does. I haven't been to Key West since 1988. It's too crowded and too commercialized now.
I've heard the stories about how much Key West has changed. Sloppy Joe's doesn't have a dirt floor anymore.
Its kind of sad how commercialized a lot of america has become. Corporations own so many properties now, and in an effort to make them kid friendly everything has become steralized. Times Square, Vegas, sporting events are so sterile now. I remember going to dodger games and a ton of people would go into the stadium without a shirt, that just seems unthinkable these days. Its not always a bad thing, a lot of places are safer now, theyve just lost some of their charm

During Fantasy Fest [holloween] you can go to the Thistle and film from the second floor balcony and not be bothered by the crowd ,,get there about 4 pm . The 3rd floor is for gays . Always check out the Parrot bar .Very laid back.
