Hey everyone, Walmart has a really good warranty that costs $15 for two years. You can send it back for any reason and get the entire cost (plus tax) of the controller back in an E-gift card. I had my controller break twice so I traded it in and I bought a new one along with a new warranty.
In fact, I didn't want my warranty to expire so right before my two year mark from the last time I purchased the controller, I traded it in for a new one and just re-upped the warranty. All in all, I've spent about $150 plus $45 extra for 3 elite controllers and I just sent mine back to get a gift card to put towards the Elite 2 controller. Will only cost me $30 to upgrade plus $15 for a two year warranty.
I don't ever go to Walmart except for my controller/warranty needs.
I'll keep it for close to 2 years and then trade it in for a brand new controller before the warranty expires and pay another $15 to re-up

I managed to get my hands on the series 2. And it is definitely worth the buy since the holidays are coming around. The controller has held up super well, the new trigger locks help extremely since I play R6 and timing is crucial in that game. The paddles being shorter helps since I won’t accidentally throw a nade at myself. Plus, the presets are great. I didn’t upgrade from Elite series 1 since I heard a lot of negative feedback. But from playing on a regular controller to playing on the series 2, you can tell the difference in your gaming. So, whether you play on the Elite series 1 or just a regular controller, then I would 100% recommend the Series 2

About the bumpers, I didn't get it. RB and LB were just one plastic part, in both the normal Xbox and the Elite 1 controller, that bends in the middle each time you press either button, so it was always a question of time until it breaks

I loved my scufs up until the prestige. Not that it is a bad controller but I have gone though like 5 sets of paddles as I keep breaking the right one and you cant just buy one. makes me miss the scuf infinity one. When I needed some paddles they where out and have been using the Elite v1 ever since. I do have some issues with the right bumper getting stuck if I drop it on my desk but it pops right back into place. after about a year and a half playing with the elite v1 I was gonna try and get some paddles and thumb sticks for my Scuf(s), and while they have paddles, at the time of writing this they only have short domed and long concave, which is the complete opposite of what I play with. so I'm just gonna get the Elite v2 and give that a shot. If it last even as long as my still working v1 I will feel I got my money. Great review!

While durability is absolutely a concern, we won’t know for probably a few months until people start reporting issues. Rubber grips, stick drift and bumpers breaking are real concerns, especially if there is no way of replacing parts yourself, but I guess we have to wait and see on these.
My big question from a functionality stand point is with regards to the paddles on the back. I switched mine on the original elite for the scuf paddles, and they are perfect. The standard paddles on the elite are far too easy to press accidentally. So my question is, have they made any adjustments beyond the shorter paddles to make accidental presses more rare, or are the shorter paddles enough?
Would really appreciate a response, don’t know if I’m going to get to hold one and test before possibly buying, but this would be one of the biggest deal breakers for me as I don’t think it will be possible to have a different design on the paddles like scuf has done for the original elite because there is no battery cover anymore.

So again i replaced under warranty that i have paid extra for (insurance). After a while my charge port went again so i decided to use normal AA batteries and not bother, recently the rubber grips have just started to come off and the lower left paddle has a lot of play (slack) before it reaches the green buttons compared to the others. One thing on the Series 2 also :
When shortening the triggers, you don't need to customize the trigger's sensitivity in order to be at 100%
Instead, the Series 2 does it for you
If you shorten the trigger, it'll automatically scale to the trigger being shortened, unlike Series 1
More profiles, and the ability to connect to almost any device...
And the paddles are shorter and more clicky (Still need to get used to that, but overall it fixed the miss clicking anytime you'd put the controller on your bed or your leg)

Ashton.R. when you’re playing and the controller just moves itself into a certain direction (mostly stays the same, for example you will always have your character slowly walking sideways when not touching the stick)
      you could say its drifting
      thats stick drift :)
      and everybody hates it

My original elite controller fried right outside of the warranty. I loved the black rubberized paint. It was a bit of a let down when the white version came out and it was not a rubberized paint like the black model

What's the rubber grips like. I've had my pro1 for just over a year, and the rubber grips are peeling everywhere and one of the thumb sticks wore out, with it rotating.

But does the grip expand with heat making the controller garbage after a year?

@@lhqs it would have to be consistent heat for it to do that, if it can expand, it can retract. So unless you intend on holding the thing 35 hours a day, it won't be too big of an issue.

I have an Elite Series 1 and I love it, but I've had to replace the bumpers twice. Fortunately, I bought a replacement kit for $2.50 that came with tools to take the controller apart and several replacement parts. While it's easy to take apart, I always feel uneasy doing so, and the since I've replaced the bumpers, now the left trigger isn't working properly (always on?). Anyway, I hate to spend the money on a new one since it's quite expensive and I can't see myself upgrading when the Series 2 looks even more difficult to fix.
