Hi, I've got this pedal. The bees come from the High knob, you better keep it at minimum and play with the treble in your amp. Also gain shouldn't go beyond 1 o'clock, it becomes mushy. Below that, you got enough distortion. If you mix it up with a little overdrive in the amp it really starts to shine. My settings: Freq at 2 o'clock while Mid at 3 o'clock, High at cero, Low at 10, Gain at 12 o'clock.

I have this pedal. The trick is to dial back on the "High" knob. I've literally got that knob almost on minimum.
The Gain I have set to about 1 o'clock and the Volume at about 10 o'clock.
Then I route the output into a TS-808 Tubescreamer.
Then into a Marshall tube amp.
Sounds absolutely awesome, both for chugging chords, and also a great high-gain creamy solo tones with amazing sustain.

@@xdreampcs8554 Well I've played Metallica riffs and solos with this pedal combination. And you can also add the Dunlop wah pedal in between the output of the TS-808 and the input to the Marshall tube amp (clean channel), and finally add in some reverb & delay, and then you'll sound just like Kirk Hammett !
ps. The TS-808 with its 'Overdrive' knob turned up, output 'Level' turned down and its 'Tone' knob in the middle, is key to this. It takes the brutal output from the Fullbore, compresses the whole thing (increasing the sustain), smooths-out the nasties, and boosts the midrange.

Keeping that freq knob right past halfway tends to help with a less scooped tone. I never used the pedals gate or scoop. It’s definitely a sensitive pedal, but when used on different amps/speakers you will need to adjust.
The Celestion g12’s have a brighter sound which I prefer for a thrashier tone. I also used more bass on the pedal to help balance it and it has a gnarly low end. But overall versatile and I keep going back to it no matter how many 2-400 dollar distortions I try. Waiting for a working amp to try the litchaerm audio Gehenna though so 👌👌

I got one a couple of years ago. I've realized that a MXR fullbore needs a good amplifier set and a good guitar as well. Otherwise you will have lots of bees flying around you. But, it chugs. I would dare Olá to use cheap amplifiers to check if it chugs, because most of us doesn't have top notch equipo.

Seems like it's the MXR version of the Metal Zone. Complete with tone knobs with way too much range. But into a power amp, and properly adjusted, there are definitely some good sounds in there.

Sounds alot better than I remember it sounding like 10 years ago lol. My favorite single pedals for heavy metal so far have been, Amptweaker TightMetal Pro II, Bogner Uberschall pedal, REVV G3, Friedman BE-OD deluxe or reg version. Also the new Ibanez Pentatone looks really cool, I bet it would pair well with a slightly overdriven tube amp.

Over hyped. Kept my Tri A.C. instead. A/B'd same amp etc.
      Joyo British > BE-OD.
If you want the Brown Eye tone in a box, Suhr Riot. Even the Donner clone could replicate the BE100's third channel easy.
A Pinnacle pretty much wrecks them all, though.

MXR M-116 Fullbore Metal really chugs !!! If you don't hear it scream & chug or you're deaf or you're not a guitarist ! Try my setting: vol at 5 (center) ; freq at 4; gain at 6; low at 3; mid at 4; high at 10 (max); gate on ; scoop on !!! Now it really will be DIME's tone !
Let me know if this is so! Thank 'U ! 🎸🎸🎸 XD XD XD
