  • In this video, I will show you how to make a miniature macrame flower. This is a very simple project that only requires 2 basic knots. You can use this flower to embellish all sorts of things, like keychains, wall hangings, or even earrings!

    02:56 - Step 1: Step #1 : Pin/ tape 1 x 33 cm cord down horizontally.
    03:12 - Step #2: Take another strand of cord and make a Double Half Hitch ("DHH") knot onto the horizontal Anchor cord. Ensure that the bottom end is slightly longer than the top end. Repeat once more.
    03:51 - Step #3: Take the right end of the horizontal cord and fold it underneath over to the left side.
    Make 2 x DHH knots underneath.
    04:25 - Step #4: Take the far-right cord as the anchor cord for a DHH knot to the left.
    04:38 - Step #5: Then gather the working cord and anchor cords just used together as the next
    Anchor cord group for a DHH knot with the cord above as the working cord.
    05:04 - Step #6: Repeat the same pattern on the other side, mirroring the right side.
    06:04 - Step #7: Take 1 cord from each side at the bottom and make a diagonal DHH knot to the left.
    06:27 - Step #8: Make 4 more petals for a total of 5 petals
    06:33 - Step #9: Take 2 or 3 strands of 10 cm cords and place them in the center of the 5 petals.
    07:26 - Step #10: Gather the petals together and make a Gathering knot with a
    30 cm cord underneath the petals.

    How would you make a "flat" one that you could attach to another macrame project?

    Here is a suggestion. Beginners can't follow as easy as someone experienced. Your hands are doing something different than what you are saying. Slow video down to half speed and you can tell. Also your hands are covering up what your fingers are doing. This is the 2nd project I have tried to do of yours and it is maddening. I can't learn this way.
