I agree with Dianehall that throwing your hat in the dryer, it will felt. Next hat, used a smaller needle. wool felt.
I see knitters using larger size needles but I am sometime a looser knitter so I have to make a test run.
I am crocheter more than a knitter but almost everything works the same. Happy knitting.

Hi Liz, Your hat looks great. I agree with many comments on here that you are risking having the hat felt if you put it in the dryer. The Rasta is a great yarn for hat but it is a single ply yarn so I would not recommend trying to shrink it. As others say, using a smaller size needle will help you get a better fit. Also, regarding the need for wet blocking, not all knits need it, especially hats. Once you get one that is the size you wish, I would just wear it and enjoy it. Happy knitting..

I love all of your crafting progress. My list of "priorities" keeps getting longer too. Every project I see or plan is "next" but they can't all be, can they? Lol.

The Quaker autumn tree & Boo are sooo sweet! Can't wait to see your Christmas Quilt...love the fabrics. Wondering who makes the green fabric you chose? Fantastic job on your hat! Love the yarn color & texture, but DON'T put it in the dryer. I think wool in the dryer felts ( shrinks up into almost fabric like density ) & will be very fuzzy. I don't think that is what you're looking for. The first sweater I made for my husband came out 3 sizes too big. I had to run seams down each side with my sewing machine to take it in! Your tension will probably tighten as you progress. I think it looks great on you as is! Off to stitch...P. S. Would they consider Jingle Ball sticker with the logo for those who use the book of days or journal their stitching? Didn't see one in the merch shop...

Stopped your video to give you knitting advice: Malabrigo (pronounced mal-uh- bree'-go) will felt, not shrink in the dryer. It's a particularly rustic yarn. Either frog the hat and try again with a slightly smaller needle; find a friend with a bigger hat; or go ahead with your experiment (but beware!). Love the cross stitch, your cheeriness, your enthusiasm - all the things!

You’re hat is beautiful! 💙 DON’T put the hat in the dryer!! Rasta is a single plied yarn and will felt in the dryer. I would gift it to a friend.

I would downsize the needles to make smaller. Did you test you stitch size with yarn? Shrinking in dryer is Riskey. I use to felt wool that’s way stitching on huge needs and it would shrink. I have never shrunk on minimal sizes. Hope someone help more.

Don’t put your hat in the drier! You will felt it and ruin it. Just give it to someone with a bigger head and knit another one.
