I really liked Kyper's analysis on Kerube and what he brings in. He definitely also brings bigger authority as coach.
Maybe Keefe's mistake was that he relied too much on key players, who did not deliver. Kerube makes sure that all players deliver.
In the end this is team sport, even you have super stars in the team.
I have nothing against Keefe, personally...but this was his first gig in the major league, and he was only supposed to fill in for a coach they fired during the regular season. He was liable to being outcoached by the big dogs, and likely was unable to greatly influence a team whose players loved him, but likely didn't fear him or respect him much. Given that, he did pretty well.

As an Oiler fan I don't expect us to beat Dallas, would love to see the Oilers win another cup, but don't see it happening but making the WCF twice in the past 3 years is not something to be disappointed at. And I will continue hoping for another cup in my life time. Gretz and moose had me pretty spoiled in my youth. Don't think I really appreciated it as much. Back then winning was just what happened. Oilers winning cups, Eskimos winning cups, drillers won the North American Soccer League title, Trappers (Angel's triple A team) won the penant. And was the first canadian baseball team to win a championship. Didn't matter the sport you just expected an Edmonton team to win.

Iâm a life long Oiler fan. Born in 81. This team here has me thinking this is the year. We have a coach who hasnât lost a coaching battle. He out coached LA and he out coached Tocchet. Yes Dallas has a great coach. But we have the two best Centers and who want this so badly. Our players our in their prime to win. We have the will to drag this in the mud to grind out wins. Oilers in 5-6.

Looking at the interview and hearing of the fight between Shanny and Berube, it occurred to me to search "Kypreos and Berube fight" on CZcams. Sure enough, these two tangled...but not for very long; a wrestle before the refs separated them.
I imagine it went something like this:
Berube: "You better not give me a grilling on a future podcast!"
Kyper: "Fine, but only if you'll cut your answers short. I'll have tee time!"

The Leafs goalied every team they beat between 1999 and 2002.

@@cbenjamin9220 I'll never forget Cujo. First time I saw him play was against the Leafs when he played for St.Louis in that 93 series. He goalied the hell outta us, putting up something like 60 saves that night. Clark took his mask off with a slap shot lol. I seen that and remember thinking wow this guy is insanely good and I was super stoked when he finally came to Toronto. So no I haven't forgotten about Cujo.

100 percent. Kyper and his garbage takes. Everytime someone craps on Marner, kyper goes into defense mode calling out Mathews. Guess what Kyper, Mathews plays tough hockey and Marner doesn't and if you can't see that then I just see you as an uneducated/biased individual I no longer care to watch or listen to. I'm listening to this stuff about the Berube hire "ruining" the boys' summer... Cuz he's too serious and too intense with regards to accountability. Should they not be CRAVING this? Should they not want the next level? I still think they should flip Marner for a package involving Crosby. Win win for both teams with the right prospects coming back.
