Eivor Palsdottir is from the Faroe Islands, between Iceland and Denmark....she sings many genres in many languages.....her "Trodlabundin" is sung in her native Faroese and is a folk/tribal song of being under a wizard's spell......just amazing......just her and her drum

Like you said, it's constantly building up in intensity, but with her voice SO clearly on top of everything. As a Dutch guy i envy the folk singers that Scandinavia has! Here we have great singers but no folk singers in this genre, ours are metal like Heidevolk
add susanne sundfor to the list of incredibly good women in music. when the lord the brothel live at cigalle undercover eivor outshines aurora vocally. effortlessly. aurora is good, but eivor is just a vocal giantess. if you see all her solo performances only her and a guitar you see that her voice is just not from this planet. she does not need keybords. czcams.com/video/Qe2FZ-ys_A4/video.html and susanne sundfor is for me the biggest talent in norway, she was already big when aurora was at the beginning of her career. there is a snippet on youtube where susanne receives the nrk p3 radio award in 2014 and you see a very young aurora admiring her.
