- "Escape At Dannemora," the new Showtime limited series, is based on the stranger-than-fiction account of a prison break in upstate New York in the summer of 2015 that spawned a massive manhunt for two convicted murderers. The prisoners were aided in their escape by a married female prison employee with whom they both became sexually entangled. It stars Oscar winners Benicio del Toro and Patricia Arquette, and Golden Globe nominee Paul Dano.

I appreciated that Stiller knew to always leave the camera on Benicio for a few seconds after he speaks a line. With Benicio, dialogue will always be followed by a glance or movement or gesture that brings his audience deeper into understanding the character. It’s why I enjoy his movies. He draws me into every character he creates. Such an amazing Actor.
Paul Dano will win an Oscar one day.
Hope so!!!
Nah he’s really not that good of an actor lol
He should of got one for There Will Be Blood.
@@brandondorion1970 oh god yr so wrong
Have you seen WAR AND PEACE?
One of my favorite scenes from this is where Lyle and Tilly are listening to Nick Jonas in the car and Lyle makes fun of it but Tilly says how she likes the song. Cut to their anniversary episode where Lyle tried to make it perfect and even played that song on the jukebox and she never even shows up. For some reason that really stuck with me and just broke my heart.
Lyle is a good guy , the series show lots of this
@@pikaqgg2129debatable. He cheated on his wife with Tilly for a long time and he helped her frame her ex husband as a violent man in order to steal his son from him
I’m still impressed and surprised that this happened in 2015 and 3 years later they had made the whole series and were promoting it. It shows how unbelievable the story is
Benicio killed it ! They all were good, but he was the best.
They all were so good and Del Toro scared the shizzle out of me
DONT TELL ANYBODY!
I’ve loved Benicio from day one (since back in the early to mid 90’s). So many of my friends and family thought I was crazy because he was kinda bizarre. But I said “you just wait”. And look at him now. He’s got an Oscar and is truly one of the best actors working today. I could watch him in anything.
This series is 🔥.. They all did a great job!
Never thought I'd be afraid of Benicio but this character did it. What a great performance.
Should see Sicario, then you know.. Lol
This series really chilled me. It was so fantastic I had no idea how much I'd become so invested in this entire story. They all were so great yet I couldn't help but fall in love with poor Lyle
Paul dano is on a run right now, delivering one of the best performances of his career after his amazing directorial debut in wildlife
Ben Stiller slayed this!!! Congrats to all invovled. Really great series
Agreed!!!...
Also, just curious...why is Eric Lange, who played Lyle Mitchell, not part of this publicity line-up? He did a great characterization as well.
He did!!! I agree 100%!!!
He's at King's Wok.....
because he is not one of the main character's ?
He was a side character, not a main player in the jailbreak or jail lifestyle
Benicio del Toro was fantastic in Escape from Dannemora. I'm glad to become better acquainted with his work. He's a top flight actor--among the very best!
there is something fascinating about Paul Dano
Agreed!!!
one of my favourite actors! Love Him! He kills every role!
i agree!
Really amazing job by all of the actors and actresses, not to mention Ben Stiller’s direction. Just absolutely enthralling to watch, and my interest in the real case was definitely satisfied by this interpretation
Patricia really put everything into this role! She deserves an Oscar!
This was a TV show so not Oscar worthy but she did win the Golden Globe. She’s a great actress.
I’m obsessed with this mini series, I’ve watched it at least 10 to 12 times, can’t get enough of it!
Joshua Palmer No, you haven’t watched it 10 to 12 times.
Anna Cat Bouthillier I literally have tho, I’ve watched a few more times since writing this comment, and I honestly don’t give a fuck if you wanna believe it or not, who the fuck are you to say what someone has or hadn’t done, take your trolling ass somewhere else. ✌️
Joshua Palmer I believe it! I have watched 4 already! Fantastic series!
P-Dot me too, I watch every episode when I am home
Me too. I watch it all the time. Watching it right now.
This series was unbelievable. Stiller killed it and the lead actors were so great. Raised the bar.
Obsessed with this series. I have it on in the background all day while I’m doing other things. The music is awesome the acting is superb and Patricia Arquette as Tilly is beyond.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing that makes me not think about politics it’s a godsend.
Who knew Ben Stiller was such a brilliant director? Much respect.
czcams.com/video/9Pl4JNnqNaE/video.htmlsi=e5ruytrx6AgmgMmm
I love Patricia Arquette.
That being said, I never said "cunt" or "twat" so many times while watching anything else.
Her performance is right up there with Sharon Stone's in Casino.
It's easy to absolutely hate her.
Agreed!!!!
Love all 3 actors so much & only at episode 3, can't wait to watch more!!!!!
Love that Patricia didn’t want to meet Tilly because she didn’t want to be manipulated by such a liar. Good call. She gave a phenomenal performance.
This series was phenomenal. The story and the actors were mesmerizing! Extremely well done!
Interesting Channel. The interviewer is very good - I like that this is not about the actors celebrity or gossip, it's about the production acting, etc.
It drives me crazy when interviewers mispronounce Paul Dano's last name. It is DANO with a long A like Danish. Why wouldn't the interviewer ask Paul or his publicist how to pronounce his last name if they aren't sure. I look at Pauls face everytime this happens. It is a small detail that is so important. Be professional people!!!
I LOVE YOU benicio del toro
Me too!!!!
Me three!
Me Four :)
Captivating series, very well done by all involved to re-create this unbelievable real life story of desperate humans.
Paul looks so quirky and adorable.
Cable Guy was wayyyyyyy underrated and I think it will be much more appreciated in the next 50 years.
A great American tragedy, a classic. Intelligent interview too a rarity.
Paul Dano has insightful things to say about David Sweat.
I just watched this limited series last week. I don't get Showtime at home. Fortunately, I was able to obtain the DVD from the SD Library System. I waited for a few months. This series was well worth the wait!
Excellent mini series. Outstanding acting, direction, production. Well done.
I was least interested to hear from Paul Dano but he's actually the most personable. (only least interested cause I love Benecio Del Tori... who is hit or miss in interviews. But I still think he's awesome)
I became so obsessed with all the details about this movie after seeing it twice thru. The shoots at the real prison, escape route, manhole etc. it was chilling and funny and just unbelievable acting and attention to detail. Loved it . Historic church built by inmates behind north yard interesting also
Oh and Eric Lange deserves an Emmy or Oscar or whatever it a mini series would get awarded, he absolutely killed it as Lyle the glitch Mitchell, all the actors killed but Eric Lange absolutely destroyed it!
Yes!! I absolutely fell in love with him and I couldn't help but just think about him throughout my day sometimes!
He straight up murdered it so bad he should be in a supermax! lol
Paul Dano great actor
wow paul dano is an amazing actor man - i believed his character 100% with his icy cool demeanor. he comes off totally different here!
Agreed...
I felt bad for them until they showed what they did to end up in jail..
Broke my heart when the cop was killed and how and the sa d for the older man
great cast great show and ben stiller crushed it. had no idea he was this great to be honest.
Agreed!!! All three actors NAILED it!!!!...
I still cant believe Ben Stiller directed this!!!
@@AbhishekNayar He's awesome!!! Love him!!
Tropic Thunder was already directed like a pro, with comedy it doesn't neccesarily come across as easily
just watched,and loved this series
Paul Dano is so hot in this series! ❤
Clinton Correction "Yard" look like something out of a Scottish prison. It's really like that. They did a great job filming in and around that prison and then re-making some of it on sets. "Little Siberia"
this is a well thought out interview with top actors about a great series. great questions.
Paul Dano got off easy, I think he was the only one who didn’t have to gain weight.
I watched all 7...I fell in love and wanted more and more!!
Me too!!!
Dano is so well spoken
Patrica arquette is underrated. I remember “true romance “ 1990. She was a beauty and did a good job of acting back then
I loved them all...brilliantly done
Such an amazing performance from Paul Dano
mics are too low. great show
Ben Stiller's Secret Life of Walter Mitty didn't get the critical acclaim in deserved. People focused on the fantasy elements rather than the core human story and quality that drove an outstanding narrative.
It was way too cheesy at times, like the last monologue when he is enlightened. Felt like plastic and not organic at all. Stiller has directed far better projects, like Tropic Thunder.
The film was adequate.
And far too long.
Brilliant series! Watched it three times, and I never do that (except for Weeds).
Just excellent work by every single person in the show.
Even the last two seasons of Weeds?
Ben Stiller captured the pure unforgiving terrain of the Adirondacks like no one else!! The drone shot from the top of the trees down into the ground with straight cliffs and swamps. And there were 2 people who escaped years ago, but they came back before it got dark cuz there's nowhere to go!
Watching it now can't wait for next episode. Loving it .probably the best I've seen in a while every moment has you glued to the tv
I haven't been able to see it yet. But, I was also glued to my TV when it really happened. I lived 15 to 20 minutes away from the prison. It was a very scary 3 weeks.
Really a good series
These three clearly don’t wanna sit through this interview
18.40 to 18.48 is the best part of the interview.
I love how Pikachu is in the background 😂
What a fantastic interview Ricky Cammaleri (sp) gave! He showed real knowledge of the subject matter, and asked in-depth, thoughtful and thought-provoking questions for these amazing actors that really provided a lot of information about the series. I saw the first episode and was blown away by their performances, although it wasn't emotionally easy to watch and was very intense. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the series. It's always interesting to me that Benicio seems to have a different "look" in almost every interview he does. Sometimes he looks ravishingly, movie-star gorgeous, and other times not. I think this was one of those "not" times.
He's still HOT tho...
@@theSpiritofTamzin OMG, yes, still very HOT!!
Brilliant tv show
I loved the question about favorite prison escape movies, as I heard it I thought "surely no actor would pick a Bresson film" 😂 but of course Paul Dano has to act all deep intellectual. You should've gone for Grand Illusion or Brute Force Paul! Del Toro and Arquette's picks were appropriate, Papillon being about purgatorial torment and Midnight Express was the spoon-eye movie (no wonder she was so afraid of the scissors!)
Great podcast gives much more info, just type in podcast escape from dammonera and Morse could have played Matt if he resembled him.
Paul Dano is soooo different, quirky, sexy, hot, talented and amazing!!!! I'd be all OVER that!! ❤❤❤❤
He’s weirdly good looking such an underrated actor
Its called make up..
@@Gtahackerpoison Talking about his FACIAL features; not makeup...
he still takes a shit and picks his nose like the rest of us. Once you remove the rose tinted glasses and get over the perceptions you have of someone based on an interview, at the end of the day he's just another person on the street, just like you, me and that dude you walked past today and didn't look twice at.
@@grahamjackmacpherson6501 Yeah, I'm not idolizing him. I just find him strangely appealing.
Best interviewer in the game.
You’re kidding right?
You need to get out more
.)
OMG 🙄 those questions 🥴
Você é muito lindo Benício Del Toro! Seus filmes são excelentes! E seus olhos, são os mais bonitos do cinema! 🤤🤤🇧🇷🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤒🤒
uncommonly good questions
Love me some Benicio Del Toro , no homo
Not sure about this interview…. Everyone’s struggling. I would like to see the interviewer dropped into a supermax…
Just finished the show. Out. Fucking. Standing.
Benicio is our Humphrey Bogart.
But he’s a better actor.
PA raised a really interesting point that in films we usually only see beautiful people undressed and having sex. Rarely do we see real people having sex. A lot of people out there feel they are not worthy of finding a partner because they don't look sexy.
I like Ricky Camilleri a lot but he does sound like a Muppet character.
Which one?
3 favourite prisonbreak movies and nobody mentions Shawshank redemption :O !
That’s too basic.
So weird
How can you not want to meet the main woman that she's playing,of course she's a dramatic woman, what did Arquette think ,the men got along fine with meeting each other but the women of course... drama
this guy is worse then him
Liked the story but the fucking sjw hints ... 6/10 for that
What do you mean?
