  • When I was 7, fate offered me two paths: a regular school life or joining the monastery. I was too young to decide, and it was my father who shaped my future. He wanted me to join Drepung Loseling Monastic in 1993.
There was pressure from other family members and elders, doubting if I'd receive a proper education there. Looking back, I'm proud of my father's decision. It's made me who I am, giving me a different perspective. Now, my family is content with my path.
I've always felt deeply connected to my Tibetan heritage and wished to contribute to my community. In 2012, I taught at Varanasi Higher Education for two years, realizing teaching Tibetan language could serve our community. I started teaching online occasionally, but a trip to the US as a monastery translator disrupted this. The pandemic gave me the time and motivation to refocus on online teaching. I even ventured onto Instagram, connecting with many from the present generation. It's heartening to see their interest!
I strongly encourage today's youth to delve into Tibetan history. Understanding our past is crucial.
