    time 3:50 battery auto cut off schematic diagram...... it is mentioned left side LED Green is CHRG... It must be FULL... and right side LED Red is FLL... It must be Charge.... As well this scheme will do relay flickering while the battery voltage in the mid ratting.

      Never mind the red/green, what about that 2.2k resistor to keep the LEDs from seeing 14V that’s not in the schematic. Tell you what, if these guys are this sloppy I don’t think I’ll be hooking anything up to line voltage ;-)

    Thx, interesting. I think the first schematic (1:51) is wrong, the LDR and 220K should be connected to the front of the thyristor / pin 4 of the rectifier, and not to pin 1 of the rectifier. Cheers!

      Yeah, the way it’s drawn it’s a voltage divider from - to - lol. Nice use of bridge, haven’t seen it used as a series device before

      @@mr_tom_1_0 It was once a common way to use thyristors to switch both sides of an AC cycle before triacs became commonly available. This circuit could be built with a triac instead and then it wouldn't need the bridge as the rest of the components are non polarised.

    Improvement suggestion: the video with text has the text visible for short periods. I dislike having to stop the video, back up, find the text, read it and start the video. Not all of us have 20 year old vision. Make the duration of the text longer. This will help viewer satisfaction.

    First let them take the schematic diagram
    Give some time to draw the sketch

      @Radioman. Před 6 měsíci

      I agree. Also there the LEDs have no current limit resistors shown in the schematic so they will burn out instantly.

    • @jansmit4628

      My two cents. For the circuit to work, J15 should be connected to a current controlled voltage source. When the battery voltage is low, the current will be maximal and the voltage on J15 will also low. Low enough the keep the transistor driven via the base connected to the potentiometer in its of position and the relais in the off state. The battery will be charged via contact pin 3. When the battery voltage rises, the voltage on J15 will also increase. At a certain moment the voltage on the base of the transistor will be high enough to activate the relais. The voltage on J15 will now switch via pin 4 to the other led. This will lower the current far under the maximum value, so the current controlled voltage source will now run in voltage controlled mode and drive J15 with its preset voltage. And yes both LEDs do need a series resistor for protection. When the current controlled voltage source on J15 is disconnected and reconnected again, the relais is activated directly again as there is no load current needed. In the current diagram, the relais is drawn in its activated state. So yes, the words chrg and full need to be swapped. The 1N5408 diode is to prevent discharging of the battery via the led when the relais is activated.
