Could you please explain this to me sir - if we get a skin cell at a crime scene and then we extract the dna from it, that's 6.6 billion base pairs right? Do we restrict the entire DNA (6.6 billion base pairs) with restriction enzymes and do an rflp analysis?

is it necessary that the number of fragments formed must be the same . the genomic sequence of each individual is different so the number of fragments should also be different.

Helpful videos... Thanks a lot... Please I have a request to make videos on " How to read data information on different software of Bioinformatics especially, NCBI, Ensembl, Mutation tester, Different mutation frequency testers like GenomAD, Expasy... I hope you make videos on these websites soon.

I know this reply is late but I hope I'll be helping someone looking at this in the future:
You do the same with the "suspects" DNA. As the suspect and the test DNA should share the same Nucleotid-Patterns, the lengths of the cut fragments should be the same in both cases. Using that information, you can use the GEL Method to then identify whether the fragments really have the same length or not
(Not a native English speaker, sorry for my spelling mistakes)
