Perhaps it might be nice if there were more pauses in the priest’s narrative. You could fill the pauses with a fire crackling, a chair rocking, pages turning, etc.

It's strange, but despite the dark past of this priest, I do not feel fear of him... and this is perhaps the most creepy... (although there may be something wrong with me 😄) I'm delighted with stories, that you create, thank you for your efforts
