I mean Zemo is still alive at the end of civil war so there's still time to spill glue on his face
If you really watched the movie then you know that tchalla stopped him from killing himself
"I shall take over the world with the power of glue!"
Yes, I hear people often see glue running from the scene after terrorist attacks.
I am truly an evil genius!
You just wait until you put your toast in the toaster next morning... and it never pops up!
So this guys most evil achievement was creating double strength super glue..? Wow...
Not double strength. Permanent, completely impossible to get off, EVER. Think bathing in skunk fumes twice a day for three years.
This is why his son Helmut is the far superior of the two. Helmut was integral in forming the Thunderbolts and later he managed to steal the villainess Moonstone's namesake and source of her powers, her moonstones, and gain an assload of additional superpowers as well.
You could've used a little more footage from the EMH cartoon, that's the best version of Zemo.
It is that voice actor of his had the perfect combination of villainous but charming voice
Zemo deserve to be in Captain America: Civil War (2016) film along with Red Skull, Crossbones, and NEW HYDRA armies.
I don't know if this is a spoiler or not but I heard that captain america dies in the age of ultron stroyline.... Is it true?
I know people are saying Zemo's superstrength super glue (ultraglue?) is kind of a lame superpower, but think about the applications! This guy made a permanent, totally undissolvable and (amazingly) non-toxic adhesive that will bind to, well, pretty much anything. You could potentially make ocean liners out of nothing but sheet metal and Adhesive X. You could coat glass with it and make it Hulk-Punch proof. Hell, since physics in comic-book land are ridiculous, you could probably use that stuff to glue PLANETS back together.
Man, glue is such an underrated superpower.
+Ultimus31 you can glue someones arms to their torso and disable the FOREVER!
+Ultimus31
only one guy discovered how to dissolve it; Paste-Pot Pete. now it goes with the name of Trapster
altho, he rarelly use the X, more ofter a weaker version
All I got from this Origin video was that he is a sort of glue villian?
IAmTheMikko and then screwing those villians over, or at least trying to, to achieve some greater goal of his. In the animated Avengers show he made the mistake of double crossing the Enchantress, and trying to mind control her..
Dylan MacKinnon he didn't make a mistake, remember he's a genius. He knew she was going to double cross him after they were done. Thor told Zemo she would betray him and Zemo tells Thor he already knows that. He then put a collar on Enchantress to mind control her. streetchico13 He's basically a more psychotic, smarter, weaker, more powerful kind of Deathstroke.
He's a mad scientist crossed with a master strategist. The glue thing is just to explain his grudge against the Captain.
Even that he was potrayed different in Civil War, Helmut Zemo was an interesting and intimidating villain. Unlike some pretend actor villain used for an easy joke at the end.
HEY! Zemo was NOT the Mandarin! Don't get me wrong, I'm as pissed off as anyone to see Zemo's name slapped onto a bleeding heart Sokovian refugee, but I'm grateful that he wasn't made a complete joke, a sob story is better than turning one of the biggest marvel villains into a fucking method actor!
+TheCNotes1 Although that's what he meant. Zemo is actually great while Mandarin was lame
I think Why They didn't get his purple costume in civil war, is that they didn't want the general non geek mass audience to get confused by his outfit...just speculating
Yea...I feel like he's going to come back but I don't know when he will
In the movie he was completely different overall he had no history with cap he was zokovia or how ever its spelled Military and never had any real crudge against cap. Oh and the biggest difference he was never hydra
AboAbdulable now in modern race masks might look irrelevant as their identity is known...
Sometimes mask doesnt makes sense as well...
Such as Im a Wolverine fan but his mask doesnt makes any sense
Same goes to Hawkeye
Wanda maximoff
& several others
Besides Zemo potrayed in Civil War looked fine to me as he was more realistic & his vengence meant something important...
The Marvel movies are trying to be more realistic than the comics. If Stan Lee likes it then we can too.
i never thought i would be binge watching an informal comic book show on youtube. im 4 hours deep in 4 min long videos. autoplay is a beautiful thing.
Love the comic book backgrounds that yall do on this site!!! Keep up the great work.
God that's some scary ass glue.
He was so much more badass in Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes. He was one of my favorite villains on the show
OMG THANK YOU FOR DOING HIM. He is one of my favorite comic book characters ever :)!
Zemo dancing make him a supervillain tho 🕺🏼
Here after winter soldier and Falcon episode 3 lol I’m in the year 2021 btw
Thanks for the rundown on the evolution of Zemo. I was never a big Captain America fan but I remembered the old Zemo when you showed the pics & videos.
Coop beans.
i've been waiting for this a long time already
Fear the pink.
Still dug Zemo from the movie. Different but still villainous.
CONGRATS ON THE 5 MILLION SUBCRIBERS
Big fan of the origins you do. :)
Even this guy gets a somewhat proper portrayal in movies, and his main achievement is creation of superglue, while hacks that work in Marvel couldn't give a proper role for The Mandarin, the character who is actually compelling and interesting and whose origin doesn't have thousands of different variations. It's simple: some guy finds an alien spacecraft, finds a bunch of super-rings, he starts to wear them, they give him superpowers, now he wants to fuck up the world. Boom! Brilliant.
Fuch Goog I know. But the thing is, the racial sensitivity itself had nothing to do with this particular decision. Marvel were afraid that the movie will be banned in China because Chinese are very sensitive when they are portrayed as villains, so that's why Marvel at first made Mandarin a stereotypical middle-eastern terrorist (since that is so racially sensitive), and then turned him into a punchline. China is the most profitable movie-market in the world, so of course you want your movie to be played in China. If middle-east was the most profitable movie-market, I guarantee you, all the suddenly middle-eastern bad guys would became racist as well. To be fair, I have nothing against Chinese, but their censorship is bullshit and hypocritical. They say that they will not approve western films with an Asian bad guys because it's racist (because, apparently, comic book villains can either be Caucasian or middle-eastern) yet they approve racist trash of their own like Breakup Guru which has a scene where an Asian guy is painted all in black, pretending to be aborigine. Funniest thing about all this, Mandarin in the comics was very critical towards the government of China and he hated them because they're bunch of hypocrites and greedy assholes.
+SepticHead That is exactly racial sensitivity...It may be based on money, but it's still racial sensitivity.
+SepticHead Isn't Mandarin himself a originally racist caricature , yellow peril ala Fu Manchu stereotype? I know he was modernized some years ago as Eastern competitive threat to American business and industrialism. In IM3 he had more of a middle east connections. IM3 took that terrorist villain & revealed him into just an smokescreen for minor comic book character , using Mandarin's image for covering up his own business practices & research flaws. A unique & refreshing twist in Marvel movies which comic book nerds hated but GA had no problem. If they had gone ahead with original Mandarin, everyone complaining over Marvel inserting a racist villain.
Besides China has no problem in making any Asian guy villain like last year they has a propaganda movie about their victory over Japan (or something like that) going head to head with Terminator Genisys., it just can't be Chinese .
Besides why do you think he's an compelling & interesting character? not many comic book readers talk about him & not many really care about him. What exactly has he done in Marvel universe that other villains like Norman Osborn,Dr Doom, Kang, Magneto, Loki, Kingpin, Samuel'The Leader'Sterns, Apocalypse had not done better?
+Jonathan Clarke That famous Chinese actress was also in MI 5 & IM3. Also entire DOFP present sequence was set entirely in some China for no reason. Also Hitman Agent 47, changed the Diana from Caucisian to Chinese, played by some Chinese pop singer.Ada Wong from Resident Evil was also changed from Japanese to Chinese in RE5 movie. Karate Kid remake, changed Mr Miyagi from a Japanese man to a Chinese man & set entire movie in China. China could probably be the reason why there's magic in MCU since China bans magic. World War Z was changed heavily where patient zero in novel actually came from China. There are just so many more examples of Hollywood specifically catering to Chinese audience. People think somehow Asians are getting more & better roles & is good for diversity but it always Chinese people.
SepticHead It was refreshing because it turned a middle eastern terrorist into a smokescreen of a minor comic book character, a white American businessman who was using it to cover his own business practices & research flaws. The baked in political message of the twist regarding the Mandarin's identity was one of the more salient points made by any Marvel movie , people just give all the credit to Winter Soldier when IM3 did a political commentary first. How many Superhero movies do a villain decoy anyway. Making Mandarin a just an actor didn't "bastardized" or "ruined" the movie. IM3 got A on Cinemascore, 7.9 on IMDB & 79% on RT. There isn't a guranatee that making Mandarin true to comics would have greatly improved the movie either. True Mandarin could have also been complete joke without any of the cool stuff you mentioned above.
Comic book nerds hate it because it surprised them who thought they knew everything because of comics history & promo/trailers etc.In this internet age, where plots are leaked & every minor detail is analyzed to death, where movies try to be accurate to comics & every person gets aware of how story will play out, what IM3 did, i found it unique & refreshing. Funny how you brought Batman Begins when similar thing happened there with Ra's al Ghul but yeh Ra's did turned out to be real but didn't Marvel revealed in one of their shorts that Mandarin is indeed real; so i guess comic book readers can be happy now.
I am also one of comic book nerds, though i haven't been reading recent Marvel & DC from sometime & just stick to non-superhero comics. I am actually member of Comicvine & lurk around in killermovieforums & superherohypes. I see many bickering & fighting all the time over minor details. I am no expert on Mandarin or Iron Man history to be honest. Him being a racist carciature is all i have read. And nobody really talks about Mandarin in comic book forums or his achievements on comic book forums. Besides, Preacher is not a unpopular book, though Herr Starr is not really worth caring in later issues. Can you suggest me which stories, i should pick up if i want to know more about Mandarin?
Shame we didn't get this Baron Zemo in Civil War. Fantastic movie though.
+Joe Young movie version of Zemo haven't lost much. He's still a psychopath who seeks revenge on Avengers and causing a lot of trouble but with stronger motivation. Though I miss purple sock.
The movie version is so much better than purple sock wearing clown with his evil glue
It's kind of dificult to put a purple sock wearing costume villain in a movie that wants to be taken seriously but maybe he'll returning with an alterated costume inspired by the comic's one in the future
Finley it's about time Mojoe it's about time. I been asking this for years now.I love Baron Zemo.THANKS! :)
They should retell the origins of the Baron Zemo but explained how it is used lately (occupying the comics Prisoner of Zemo, Under Siege, Thunderbolts in Civil War) where he is a great villain apart from being notable for facing the Cap along with being a great strategist to reunite the Masters of Evil and Thunderbolts where other villains have removed the post.
Apart in the series Avengers EMH in chapters has the dowries to bother and face Thor, Black Panther, Iron Man in addition to the Captain, along with directing the masters of evil, apart from making more interesting and strong disfigurement with the Virus X).
I actually like Zemo more than Red Skull. I found him to be the much more intimidating of the two.
Zemo's character in Civil War was on level of Lex Luthor and Joker
like The Baron Zemo we all know well, who vowed everything in his power to Push The Avengers to their Breaking Point
its good to see he stuck around ....and to everything
I cannot believe that the MCU are NOT going to place Baron Zemo in his signature costume persona...!!! Yet again another character they'll successfully fuck up!! Well done Marvel Studios.
I' m very dissapointed because of how the studio put a great villain like Zemo without his habilities and his signatura mask. By the way Daniel Brühl is a great actor
+Ivan Gomez (John Jones) they didn't kill him off so we could possibly get him to return with the mask and the masters of evil
+Celticluke19 he maybe make a masters of evil in the mcu with villains like abomination, justin hammer and etc.
All you fucking nerds give a shit about is weather he wears his corny costume or not.
The MCU Zemo was a much more interesting relateable and 3-dimensional villain than the evil glue guy here.
His origin was better told in avengers EMH.
Alright, falcon and winter soldier
Always wanted to know this character.GJ
I look forward to seeing his new costume.
How can this man eat if a hood is super glued permanently to his face?
+PokeDude011
something about straws
or the same way deadpool does it: messily
maybe he cut a mouth-hole? or he can only be fed intra-veniously?
The former would imply that he msot likely had to cut out/off his lips aswell or at least scarred them massively... which would surely give him one more reason to hate Cap's guts.
You forgot to mention he appeared at the end of the winter soilder
That was Baron Strucker. Another Nazi baron super-scientist, similar, but not nearly as dangerous as the Zemos.
Nah, he didn't appear at the end scene, if he did, he would've wore his mask and plus it's too early for Cap. America: The Fallen son, before the Age of Ultron.
Seth Rogen sorry i tghought they where the same thing and that i was saying the wrong name for years
He's definitely my favourite captain America villain such an awesome character and I really loved him as citizen v in the thunder bolts
I feel your pain, Zemo. I glued my eyelids shut by accident one time.
Nice to know who he is before civil war comes out
1:44 "When Captain America throws his mighty sheilllllllllld."
Ware is the video that you promest?
OEO!
About time.
Was Zemo based on Vincent Price? They look alike, and Zemo's story is a reccuring theme in Price's movies (a scientist gets disfigured in an accident, and then he becomes evil and insane, and plots to take revenge, while wearing a mask that hides his face)?
Of course I'm a fan of Baron Zemo! he's the best.
Baron Zemo is the second coolest character in Marvel Universe, after Deadpool. His reimagining in earths mightiest heroes was simply BRILLIANT
Hmm anyone see the Avengers EMH version? What does everyone think?
Yeah. Especially his voice. That was my first introduction to the character.

Superhero hero origins: *Black Canary*
Superhero hero origins: *Huntress*
Superhero hero origins: *Ms Marvel*
Supervillian origins: *Red Hood*
Hey watchmojo i was wandering if it would be possible for you to do the origins of all the colors of the *lantern corps* in the DC universe since im only familiar with the green ones and want to know about the rest,im really curious. Thank you!
***** He doesnt really HAVE a origin... P.S. Hes a supervillan who captain america has fought multiple times. His only ability is looking at one persons fighting style and copying it. Thats it.
Superhero origins: peter stanchek from the valiant entertainment comic called Harbinger
Sicky boy is back
He is my all time favourite supervillain
God I wish he had his purple costume in the MCU
Don't mind me, I came here because of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Guy made some killer ass super glue. That’s pretty cool.
I know you guys have a suggestion page...but I'm too lazy. So here it goes, since you guys have been doing the decade defining series, you should do one for "TV Shows."
mission report December 16 1991
I feel Zemo would seem more threatening if they didn't have such playful music in the background.
Thank you for including Helmut Zemo. I loved him with the original Thunderbolts comic book run.
One of best characters
how does he eat if the mask is sticked and it look like cloth which can be cut right???
And people say X men origins wolverine was bad at adapting characters
When cap was fighting this dude, you can say he was in a STICKY situation!
this was pretty interesting
Who Came here after watching Falcon and the Winter Soldier
So....how dose he eat?
+DionLaurent1 Remember that episode of South Park when they eat through their asses? There you go.
How does he eat? I'm more concerned with how the fuck does he breath? I mean it can't be easy breathing through that thing, as i can imagine he'd most likely suffocate to death.
Got to love zemo.
This guys needs to be on the big screen! Masters of evil anyone?
Creates a super glue that spilled on his face. Creates a team of villains pretending to be heroes but then they decide they want to stay heroes. Zemo's plans sure do backfire bigtime.
Please do Black Canary next!
I have read several Zemo appearances in both Captain America and Thuderbolts, as well as seen him on the Avengers cartoon. Had no idea there was this whole "Adhesive-X" plot. It's so stupid its been buried, but Mojo has to make it like the focal point of the entire video. Should have shown what Zemo's son did in cool appearances since they established him as the new Zemo.
I Wasn't paying attention for half of the video (because I'm the kind of person who likes background noise) but from what I gathered it just seems like he's just "Oh dear god, someone just please get this fucking head condom off of me."
super villain origins.. the Abomination, Vandal Savage, and black Cat
Baron Zemo was also just in a new episode of Marvels new show, Marvel Disk Wars Avengers.
You guys should do karl ruprecht kroenen from hell boy next! Cool back story!!
Baron Zemo. A super villain whose powers are..........glue. You kind of expect better from Marvel.
That's not his power and it was only during the early years when every comic was cheesy but ok
GreatGrandpa marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Helmut_Zemo_(Earth-616)#Powers_and_Abilities
more like badluck brian hahaha
ready to comply
Now, PLEASE do origins of Question!
Captain America Civil War movie Zemo has nothing to be with the real one
+andres cano I wish they had elements of his character in it. like, he became insanely rich because of his genuis Adhesive X. you could even say that SHIELDS weapons/veichles/armour, including the suits to the avengers were constructed by using Adhesive X
Who is here after ‘The falcon and winter soldier’
He also appeared in Marvel Disk Wars last month !!!!
Do Baron Von Strucker next! :)
How does he eat?
+noelsoong777 Yeah I wondered that to. I mean if his mask is permanently sealed to his face than he should have died of starvation a long time ago.
"Face the sticky situation" Ha!
Yep, that's how I remember it.
who's watching this after seeing civil war
TheCNotes1 Not exactly a compliment. (Claims to be better than Legend of Zelda, never played a single game)
I love Baron Zimo, I really do hope we can see him appear in the 3rd Cap movie.
What makes Zemo a SUPERvillian he has a mask glued to his face, and has one handgun, I dont even think I would take him seriously tbh
He will appear in Captain America: Civil War.
+GundamPrimeZero Oh yeah Baron Helmut Zemo is going to be an amazing villain in captain America civil war
And people that saw the film say that he was wasted. Seems like MCU can't make a good villain to save their lives.
+Bobbi James I'd go more along the lines of Loki (Amazing) Winter Soldier (Great) Iron Monger (Okay) and Ultron (Okay)
I never knew what a horrible origin Zemo had.. Please bring him to the MCU for shits and giggles!
You should of shown a clip of him shooting wasp in earths mightiest heroes.
I figure that would have been cool ti see for people who have never heard of him.
You forgot to mention, he also appeared just recently in Disk Wars Avengers. Gosh, you really can't keep track of anime.
He was creating super glue? SO EVIL!!!!
Got to love silver age comics.
+LordDarthHarry well, while its not as interesting as a superweapon, its still actually quite genuis. Super glue like Adhesive X would revolutionize several industries globally. from weapon/building construction (well, pretty much every construction industry ever), aswell as being used in chemical and medical use.
easily making Baron Zemo a multi-billionaire if he chose to gain profit on it.
Lol
@Marjanaama ill cut the Baron a check
Hell yeah lol
given that he was a nazi scientist, wouldnt that techicnally be set in the golden age?
