  • Tip:
Pro level grip waxing for zero conditions. Works well in all zero conditions, from new falling wet snow to glazed icy tracks. Recommended by Rex Racing Service team!
    1. Mount masking tape in the both ends of the grip zone
    2. Roughen the ski base with sand paper
    3. wipe off excess dirt
    4. move the masking tape on the tail of the ski 1-2 cm forward. Roughened area prevents klister drifting to the glide zone
    5. apply a thin layer of Rex purple klister as a base wax
    6. let the ski cool down couple minutes
    7. apply a layer of Rex Universal klister
    8. apply a layer of Rex ProGrip Red +1...-1°C
    9. add couple drops of Rex Universal klister in the middle of the grip zone
    10. mix the klister with Red ProGrip +1...-1°C
    11. smooth with thumb
    12. remove masking tapes

Might work, but I would have my Zeros ready to go. this could ice…..or have no grip.. Or both.

Roughing the kick zone side ways is a huge mistake. it tends to round the edges of the ski. The kick zone surface should only be roughened paralell with the side walls, not horizontal to the side walls. Even the REX technicians that I have seen demonstrate this know better than to go side ways.

Roughing the kick zone sideways is the right way. It gives better grip for base wax. And when you use sanding block with sandpaper it does not round edges. And when you stone grind your skis once a year the edges stay sharp anyway.
