I found this song when searching for Manx folk music. I emailed "Barrule' and asked if I could use it in this video and fortunately they said 'yes'......I agree this song is beautiful ! There is a link to their channel at the start of the video ( at the top )
Thanks for comment !
this song is beautiful, elates my heart. thanks for making this! :D ♡
S'yindyssagh eh shoh! Gura mie ayd!
Thank you too Phil......I don't actually speak Manx and have been out of touch with the Island having been away for so long. The advent of the internet and the many Manx facebook groups has enabled me to feel like I am still part of the community. It's good to see that Manx is taught in schools now and that traditional and new folk music seems 'alive and well'.
Is breá liom bhur gcuid ceol agus an tamhrán seo ach go hairithe.
+Aidan O'Hara I had to google that as I don't speak Gaelic ( Irish or Manx )......'You love their music, this one in particular !'
+Kenny Walkington I like their music and this song, She Lhlong Honnick Mee, in particular. I'm writing a piece for Irish Music Magazine on Barrule & have had a chat with the impressive Tom. A fine young man and proud to speak Manx.
