Happy anniversary and congratulations! About the color of the cat: I would make a color gradient from brown to black. If you use two strands, pick one brown and another black and stitch on, then after a while, change to two strands of black. If only one strand is used, make a checkerboard pattern so that the color changes gradually. This kind of color change from head to back would make black look rich and natural. Many black cats have brownish tones, especially when they are exposed to light.

I like the cat as is, mostly because 310 can come through rather flat when used for a big area. When I moved to my current home it was the first time one of my kitties had stairs and he was very nervous for a week or so. My other cat must have thought he found nirvana because he had no trouble with stairs and enjoyed the quiet week without a rambunctious little brother around. After a week, the younger cat figured out the stairs, and that running up and down is the best thing ever. He has settled down considerably but I still hold dear the memory of him discovering stairs ❤ 🌻

🌻congratulations on the house! It sounds like a busy couple of months but oh, it will be so worth it for you! I enjoyed your video so much today and appreciated hearing good news. I haven’t been stitching much and august was a bit of a downer. I lost my coworker who was also my friend. She was only 43. Its been difficult adjusting without her. Plus they aren’t replacing her anytime soon so I’ve been stressed because I’m either working alone or they are sending me temps. Every day is a bit different. Stitching has taken a back seat to reading which is more relaxing right now. I hope you enjoy your retreat! I’m going to a big one in just one month and counting in Charlotte, NC and Nora Corbett will be there!! She’s my favorite designer and I’m always working on something by her so this is so exciting… andscary! I’ve been looking forward to this for over a year and I can’t believe it’s almost here! I just got my suitcase out of the attic this morning and yes, I may even start packing…. Good stress is still stress so make sure you take the time to unwind. And to cherish all those special moments, with your family and friends. ❤

Our own house is a smidge small for kids but we have lots of playgrounds and a big field close by so it balanced out. I like your cat as is, it looks black on screen and sometimes all the 310 can be a bit much, plus most black cats do have some dark brown in them.
Hi Katie, I enjoy watching your videos and just wanted to comment on your need for magnifiers. I recently ordered magnifier glasses from Artdot for only $30 canadian..they are reasonable in the USA. I saw them on The Seattle Stitchers flosstube and I believe she has a discount code as well. I also watch TV and flosstubes while stitching and the placement of the magnifiers allows both without moving the glasses. Magnifier lenses included go from 1.0 to 3.5. They also have a light, but are really light to wear. I love them..I'm 67 years and even quit stitching for a few years because stitching on linen that I loved was impossible, but not anymore. Give them a look anyway, off to watch the rest of your video now.

If your property has deciduous trees you'll be moving in just in time to rake and jump into your first pile of leaves. Your house and neighborhood sound perfect. I grew up on a dead end street as a kid and we had a lot of kids on our block. It was safe to place in the street because they're wasn't a lot of traffic and whenever a car turned onto the street we knew which house it was going to, so we'd just slide our game down a bit. That neighborhood has some of my happiest childhood memories. I really hope you guys feel and home there and create awesome family memories. 💕

If your property has deciduous trees you'll be moving in just in time to rake and jump into your first pile of leaves. That is my idyllic take on autumnal yard work. 🍂🍁 As far as suggestions for magnifiers, I'll send an email with links to the lighted magnifying glasses I have tried. Although not perfect, they work better for my than other things I have tried. I am excited to start Fraktur Flowers with you next Monday.

Thanks so much! It’s such a relief to know this won’t impact the wedding fun. I get the downstairs living room as my office/crafting room and Alex is gonna set up a desk in one of the upstairs bedrooms as his own space. I’ll share some pics of my office when we get all settled in.

Leave the cat in brown. From the screen it looks black and that is a lot of stitching to take out.
Since you decided the cat is a boy- why not leave him brown? You could stitch a girl black cat when you want. 😃
