He does not have schooling or grooming or money to get into a top B school. My question to you is how does he get the necessary skill? and who's responsibility is it to skill him ? .. Also in this situation, am I to conclude that it is important to come from money to get to money ? I think it is probably because the mindset is that till the time you don't get a job, you can live off your parents' money, and most parents are happy to do that because that's how it has always been. If students are asked to be self-sufficient after 18/19 and sponsor their own education (whether through jobs or loans), this will change very quickly, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, because "log kya kahenge" is too important.

You don't keep getting 20K your entire career but for an electrician you might make the same salary for your entire career, and even if you make more it will not be much different.

I would give a hypothetical situation. Suppose in a country all graduates turned out to be engineers. Whatever are the resources of the country, would it be possible to provide them with matching jobs?? No. On the contrary other sectors would die and eventually economy would collapse. A good economic society needs social differentiation, so that every pillar of economy is taken care and so hierarchy is in built. Can u think of a corporate with all employees being CEO? Today everyone wants to be the CEO. Jobs are plenty but degrees or interest have converged. He is right in saying everyone wants white collar jobs. Even nature has hierarchy, if all become lion it won't last. Problem is with disparity of income, and social status. Y a plumber is seen down with respect to an engineer? Though income disparity is reducing, it would take time for social disparity to vanish.

Actually, In India people are not unemployed they declared them as unemployed voluntarily... No one want to work in informal sectors like agriculture etc. and all are looking for best and big jobs in big firms, govt. jobs etc.. A major part of 130 crores population moving towards formal sectors like banking, railways, services etc.and that creates chaos for 100 jobs no. of applicants are 100,000 or more.. Pressures and Competitions are creating deliberately in formal sectors forcefully..This is totally unacceptable as compared to other developing countries..
Due to this reason there are lack of workers of working-age population potentially within an informal economy which results in inflationary situations..
Obviously, population explosion is also a matter of concerns and our Government should take reasonable steps to control it as soon as possible by two child policies or NRC(to constrain illegal migrants) alongside it is very needful to have a proper basic education system people need to understand the fundamental economics and politics from the school level education..and In colleges and universities graduation should be more skill oriented courses like Developed nations(US, UK, Japan, Korea etc.)..Now in education system just a graduate by booklist knowledge without any specific skills no more helpful for getting jobs or creating jobs...Need awareness..

Entrepreneural mindset should also be developed with these skills with a strong mindset of ethics. In developed countries a plumber and a white collar job employee both earn almost the same.

The main problem in India is degrees are earned for jobs not for knowledge. It's not entirely student's fault entire system is flawed. Parents say study and earn a job, teachers say study harder to get a job. Nobody, literally nobody says to study and understand it. Not even 5% of of final year projects of engineering students see the lime light. Neither the college nor the government supports new innovative projects which could in real sense create massive jobs.

When any college student says he she is unemployed in media then definitely a question should be aske to that person. Where did you apply for the job? And why you were not selected? Then you will get to know the truch that the person was not selected due to no communication or working skill. There is no place in India where work force is selected without judging their skill. No where work force is given job on counting heads but they are only selected or rejected on the basis of skill. Another issue is waiting for a particular job. Many youths don't want to start job because they want to work in specific sector like government sector or jobs which are in AC rooms. No one want to become Amazon or Zomato delievery person because it's painfull. They want Government or IT jobs. That's not an unemployment that unemployment by choice.

Here's the thing... People in India have always been fascinated by white collar jobs/government jobs. However they are not ready to put in the effort required to reach there or an equivalent position which allows them to flaunt day in and out. For people who put in their effort and yet not able to get through is simply because of population concerns. Had it been a small pool from where the merit list could be decided, people putting in ample amount of effort would have made it through. We as Indians are not obsessed by the value we bring to the society through our education and experience but obsessed with the quality of life we get to lead after cracking the competition. A simple example would be millions of aspirants applying for CSE or CAT just to get that bureaucratic position or high profile job that pays you 30-40 lacs per annum and not because they want to do something out of the box. Just because of this obsession, people don't want to take a step back or think about blue collar jobs to fund their necessities and keep their families alive and kicking for some time till they get to a position where they can command that respect through white collar jobs
