OneSoul in the first season Anne was 13 and Gilbert was 15, and in the books I’m pretty sure in the beginning Anne is 12 and Gilbert is 14 I’m not hundred percent sure though.

Oh I totally recommend the old Anne of green gables, they obviously lack of the progressive movement blinks, some characters were added just in this series and Gilbert's story is totally different, but it's sooooo cute. And also the story goes way more further than this series

I loved the show. Every character. Different time. The series helped me through the pandemic. Some seriously good acting and loved the music and art work. Adolescence isn't the easiest and confidence might not have been strong point. Kind of had a Shakespearean quality to it of misunderstanding.
