'so while I was promoting my course and trying to take some more money from you' hahaha you cracked me up with this one. Thanks for much for the video, and for the course, its great!
This is the course that keeps on giving. Great video and thx for the share. Would love to have an animation course at some point (of already rigged character - perhaps just a continuation of this course with same character, but then do lots of animations with it - and even bring into unity or godot and show the full pipeline (import considerations, animation blend trees, etc)
I realize this is meant for a game, but I personally like adding spline down the cloth with softbody modifier on the curve used to give it that more natural flopping look in addition to the rig you just made.
Furlow Torent yes, that’s a clever way and it saves a lot of time. Personally, I like to hand key frane my cloth just for the purpose of control and to be able to keep it stylised. But I will have a look to simulations for sure.
@@PierrickPicaut_P2DESIGN I think it all boils down to what you just said. Stylization of animation, plus time you have available of course. Still having 100% controlled by the modifiers would be bad since they are known for messing up or doing weird things, especially on highly mobile models like yours most likely would be. Case in Point, "Hotel Transylvania 2" they have video all about issues they had when character jumped out doing martial art style moves. The cloth simulation exploded =^.^=
Furlow Torent i believe we have seen the same making of. What a blast. Whatever, I know I should get more into basic simulation.. but I don’t like it 😅.
I haven't tested it exhaustively, but just setting the copy rotation local.z to either world space or pose space instead fixed the rotation problem without adding a second Intermediary bone..
Just found this question in your old lesson. How did you select the MCH-CLOTH-INT bone at #6:08 without additional select menus and other annoying stuff? Thanks
Holy cow, there is no another easier way to do this? I mean, i want to make a character for a Game its really simple, it is an astronaut, it has a couple of wires that take part from the back pack but i want to animate it properly and dont make all this stuff, if someone knows how to do it faster and easier i will be really greatful
Iv been skinning the cloth to a bone and using a vertex group to pin the cloth. This could generate some problems for me in the future? Ps, if not skinned, the cloth goes to hell if your character its not where the cloth was created when simulation stats.
Can I ask? What's wrong with the Hanging bone parented to a Helper bone(no deform), the helper parented to the Torso bone (deforrming), and the Hanging bone not inheriting the rotation of the Helper,. Add a Bone Constraint to the Hanging bone to Copy the z-only Rotation of the Torso, World Space to World Space? You have three helper bones in there to get Local Space transform data into that bone. I thought only a mechanical type rig needed to worry about Global/Local orientations.
I don't like to use procedural mechanism in my animation as you lacke of control. Especialy for game animations. Also, I would have to reproduce this physics inside of the game Engine. But using cloth simulation can be super powerfull too, it's a matter of preferences and cases. Also, this tip is appliable to many other type of rig so.... There is never an absolute solution, it really depend on every cases :)
@@PierrickPicaut_P2DESIGN Unreal actually does that automatically with an optimized system for dangling parts. There is a livestream about that, if you are interested

This course is awesome!! I greatly improved my rig skills, thanks Pierrick (Waiting for the animation course!! )
Xunulu Studios thanks mate
I own two courses now
at full price and both are worth every cent. You guys are getting a helluva deal today 👌🏾

Great course , I have bought it, but please add the export TO UNREAL ENGINE , THANK U FOR THIS AMAZING COURSE
I'm not well versed with ue4 but can't you just import it as fbx...?
@@thsuperelite in theory yes one should be able to import fbx into unreal, but its never that straight forward unfortunately.

what courses do you have planned for the future, because your other courses are awesome
Markus Chakera thanks. Animation course in 2020
the rig UI and rig properties, is it covered in your rigging tutorial series?

Ps, if not skinned, the cloth goes to hell if your character its not where the cloth was created when simulation stats.
Hi ! How to arm stretch and leg stretch the game character rigs?
How do you rig overall clothes?
So it wont slip through the model mesh and follow the model's movement
No magical way.
1) good weight painting
2) cafe deform
3) just hide the model under if it has cloth
For movie character, use simulation.
5:53 4 videos and still i can't get the trick to make the bone to have information on its transform channel :c

is this course only for games people or we can create our own projects by that please reply.
No it’s not specific for games. You can use it for feature animation character
Do you use a tablet or mouse when doing your things like modeling, sculpting, rigging and animation?
