These passages in the Quran and this entire discussion about wanting nothing but desires of this lowly life - keeps making me think about the Law of Attraction movement. That entire movement is about getting what you want in the here and now. They have literally turned their desires into their god, which they call "source."
And most of modern life in general emphasizes the here and now...

Abu Darda reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Verily, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge. The inhabitants of the heavens and earth, even the fish in the depths of the water, seek forgiveness for the scholar. The virtue of the scholar over the worshiper is like the superiority of the moon over the stars. The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. They do not leave behind gold or silver coins, but rather they leave behind knowledge. Whoever has taken hold of it has been given an abundant share.

One thing I used to ask in my dua that Allah ask the other person to talk to me so I can try to call him for namaz but one thing I know he'll not listen to me because the one who didn't listen to your call Azan how would he listen to me
I love him but I know we can't be together because the difference between us is namaz and I know the one who pray and the one don't even want to talk about namaz can't be together

We can’t judge whats going on inside the heart
That means it doesn’t matter how much you love someone, you can’t change their heart (it’s true)

The reason why.. os because People dismiss the Beautitudes and expectations that Jesus gave.. dismissing that jesus Died so they could continue to Lie’ and Harm others.. Its the delusion that one can claim to belong to God but still succumb or say “satan” tempted you.. what kind of people Love God by lowering their actions that support the darkness.
We should be examples within our behaviors that Allow others to see Allah through our high moral character that we expect more from ourselves then anyone else..
And.. We do that by talking about times we have lied or done harm and we show how much better we felt when we told the truth .. because it allows others to feel stronger in Telling their truth..
And we can only do this by going to places intentionally to Test ourselves

Why do people have to nit pick every single thing. Hes a teacher and he's giving a lecture hes gotta make eye contact with everyone. As long as things are respectful then there should be no problem. Next thing ban women and/or girls from "Islamic" gatherings as it causes distractions or even worse force everyone to wear a hijab or niqab without their consent. Smh🤦♀️
