  • Hello everyone. We wanted to update you all on our travel plans for this year. As you can imagine we are really excited for the year ahead with what we have planned. However, the big question is do we continue cruising or do we go on a land based holiday due to the price increase in cruises? Please let us know what we should do. Thanks for watching and see you soon.

Good comments, I agree about the prices - they have zoomed up as has everything else. We go with Marella as you have before. Having done 9 cruises (10 in June) we have seen many changes. The best thing now is the AI on Marella, the shows are very good and we have been very satisfied. It might be good to try another cruise line but until we don’t enjoy a trip, why change? Like you we like the security of arranged trips most of the time. In June we are back to the Adriatic followed by Italy and Greece on a two week, balcony cruise. Then in September we go to Cornwall with Tommy, our spaniel for his holiday. We are on a woodland site near Hayle Towans. Perfect for walks. Hope you enjoy your holidays wherever they are

We’ve found a really great 5 day cruise with Sky Princess to Scandinavia in May. Well worth a look at that one for the price guys

I am planning my next vacation and see exactly what you mean, however, I also found that not all cruise lines are doing the same. It is mostly the ones with new mega ships, which of course, with higher interest trends need to generate cash flow to pay for the exorbitant debt they have incurred (even within the same umbrella, i.e. Carnival Corp.).
If you get to a point where you crave cruising check on NCL and Holland America on Europe itineraries, as an example. I see big differences in comparison to others. I paid a little over $2500 (US) for a 14-day eastern Mediterranean cruise in Oct 2023 as a SOLO passenger.
On the other hand, you have almost done any possible cruise itinerary, so a land vacation/holiday could be a good change for you.
    Love your videos!

Totally agree with you the cruises are out pricing themselves. I have just done the Xmas market cruise with MSC our 4th and last cruise with them. Our grandchildren were given raw chicken. Our son was served cider instead of blackcurrant and my bracelet was stolen from cabin. Reception weren’t interested! Nor did they want to discuss the overcharged excursions which we are still waiting for a refund for.
Beautiful clean ships and pleasant over worked staff but it’s a no from us from now on.

That sounds awful. We are on MSC in December around the Christmas markets 😳😳

@@karlkaptured4200 I hope it is a better trip than ours. As you haven’t been on MSC before you may enjoy it.
We have cancelled our June yacht club cruise as this experience was to traumatic.

My advice on p&O is don't get the drinks package prices for drinks are cheaper than a London pub just come back from 2 weeks in the Caribbean on arvia excellent value have a look at it .

Totally agree , for the price of 1 cruise we can have 2 land holidays, so we are putting a hold on cruises going to palma nova may and then a week in the lake district followed by some winter sun in gran canaria these three are cheaper than a cruise

I had a quote for 2 weeks around Greece and Italy on Marella, based on a balcony cabin and the upgraded drinks package,it came to nearly £7250,but also I have looked into a caravan(sleeps 4) near Weymouth in May for 3 nights was £645.None of these are in the school holidays,so it's not only cruises that have increased, just have to look out for some last minute prices I think.

That’s so expensive. what a shame Marella thinks 7250 is a fair price to cruise around Greece. 👎

We're currently on britannia in the Caribbean for 2 weeks and paid £1,100pp plus a refresher (soda only package) for £147 for 2 weeks and we've booked our excursions with Viator part of Trip Advisor who work with the cruiseline passengers daily so know the times to get you back for £231pp so that's £1,487pp

Did MSc virtuosa Xmas markets from Southampton very good can’t fault them? If your going to Hamburg and it’s a Sunday everything closed , keep that in mind all markets cash if it’s same we did , Brugge , Rotterdam , le harve , Hamburg , going back on MSc to Lerwick and Norway in may , no issues either msc

Thank you for reassuring me about MSC some of the new vlogs coming out sound awful. I think it’s the same cruise as you did around the Christmas markets in December 👍🏻
