- In this video, I tried to break down the reasons why niki is getting hate from Island till this day in the simplest way possible. People saw his actions but didn't realize how Young he was Back then. Some things that he did in I-Land have been portrayed in a wrong way, so I made things clear as much as I could. Even after I-Land, people dragged his mother and disrespected her that is NOT OKAY. I've tried to cover every main issue that he faced. Whatever has happened, can't be changed now, but let's try to make things easy for them in future and stop this negativity.

After watching this, some of you might say that "He still teases Sunoo" etc. Guys, they don't interact on camera that much now, and rather than hating him for that, we need to understand that he did things when he was young but he learnt from his actions too. This could be taken a character development. We don't know what's happening behind the cameras. They are friends and coworkers, your hate won't let them stop talking or interacting. But if this continues to happen, it will only ruin our image as ENGENES, bcz they don't know if the hate if from antis or fans.

Niki was just doing what he believed was right and not being bias just cause he was his friend. Is basically what you need to do. As a taki stan I'm glad he is in &team.

Ni-ki might be older than me but when I was 14 I was goofing around and doing absolutely nothing. And Ni-ki survived in a survival show and debuted in Enhypen is a great achievement in itself. And it's natural for a 14 year old to do things which might not be appreciated by adults but it's no secret that everyone did something as teens which wasn't appreciated by everyone. Ni-ki has been my bias ever since I started stanning Enhypen because I absolutely loved how he was around his members. And isn't it normal for the younger ones in any group to tease their older members? Ni-ki might have been immature but honestly he was more mature than any teens out there. And the amount of hate he received 2 years ago was inexcusable. I just hope these people would stop sending so much hate to the idols, it really effects their health. I really liked the video this might be the realest video explaining the situation of toxic haters and how it effects the idols.
I seriously hate the fact that Ni-ki's family is involved in this, especially his mom. None of them did anything wrong including Ni-ki himself 😢
Another thing, when I was 14 I use to tease my friend a lot. Later she had come to me and told me how it hurts her. At least Ni-Ki learns from his mistakes. At least he is getting lessons on how to handle stress, anxiety and how to be respectful to people older than him.
I want to confess something. When I saw Taki of &TEAM the first time I didn't like him. Now that I see how sweet, funny and talented he is Iove him. I can't understand why I didn't like him. 🥺
kpop stans are so hypocrite, they be saying stuff like "we must protect minors" and then go and hate on riki for behaving like a teenager when he was 14-17

Imagine how you would feel at the age of 14 going to another country where you don't know the language very well, and away from your family. This passionate ambitious boy worked so hard to get where he is today.
I think people judged Ni-ki so harshly just because of his confidence with dancing, but that's how you need to be in a COMPETITION. You have take risks, and stand out which he did. Ni-Ki is very serious when it comes to dance, and I think he is so honest and real when voting for Taki because he knew him and knew he needed more time to grow, and look at Taki now! He has grown so much! ENHYPEN and &Team are great friends. (I don't know obviously but I feel like there's still a bit of awkwardness between K and Sunoo, but everything happens for a reason.) That's a whole other story, and us fans don't truly know, because at the end of the day we don't know these boys personally. They share and are open with us about a lot but don't be so quick to judge a situation. Before and even after debut Ni-Ki would sleep in Sunoo's bed most of the time because Sunoo is Ni-Ki's comfort. If you look close enough you'll see how much Ni-Ki admires/cares about Sunoo.
All in all get over Iland, the past is in the past, and ENHYPEN have amazing teamwork. They would not be where they are today without every member doing their part/role in the group. Fate brought them together. Period.

How tf can anyone hate Ni-Ki! I loved him from the start. Especially because he was just acting like any teenager would. He's still a teenager. I mean any teenager will behave a certain way to deal with stress on a survival show. Some are mature and some will hide their anxiety and anger, etc. A teenager who are expected to act "mature" and who should hide their emotions usually gets depression and anxiety. I feel like our Ruby Maknae does not deserve this. He's only a child. 😢

I love Niki and adore his character too, he had to live far from his family and country, tried to fit in different place with different language and culture, i know all of that, i love him too. But love doesnt mean keeping my eyes closed for his childish behavior, he can be a naughty boy with lot of pranks for his hyungs but he must realize, must learn his lesson, that although he did it with no intention, people could also get hurt. Some friends are serious, not everyone is as nice as Sunoo. The tongue has no bone but it is strong enough to break a heart, if we're not careful with our words, we can even lost a best friend forever. Hope that Niki learnt this, soon enough to fix things, he is still young. I believe that he has a warm heart too.
Anti fan are crazy out there, i have to say this but keeping things in silence and keeping a distance from Sunoo is not a good idea. It makes me as a fan have so much questions, i know that i dont have any right in this but everytime some crazy antifans bragged this things up, i cant even be an advocate who defense for Niki (it hurts) cause i also dont know if thing between Niki and Sunoo is fine or not, they don't interact on camera that much and that is so heart-breaking to see. A lot of people said that "Fans always overthink about things, there is nothing but they deduce and overeact." But how can i be calm to see the boys dont interact like before. Anyone can see the difference before and now. The best thing now to do should've be keep everything as normal as before, but no more offensive teasing, no weird distance on purpose, be nice with each other as they used to be,... I wanna see them happy, if Niki learnt his lesson, he'd better take actions for fixing things, Sunoo did nothing wrong, he doesnt deserve this alienation. mnet was probably most of the reason niki got hate, iland was one of the most toxic survival shows ive seen in kpop. voting fellow trainees to create more drama? highlighting people ‘badmouthing’ other trainees is crazy, they obviously didnt mean it like that. poor niki and the other trainees/members they were only young.
They probably cut things to make it seem worse than it was.

I really like Niki. I'm very aware of what he did or how he behaved back in Island, but I can actually see so much of myself in him. Of course some things aren't appropriate but hey, everyone does behave this way sometimes or has done it in the past, the difference is just that he has been caught on camera. I recently watched I-Land n during the first voting when they showed only Niki voting Taki out, I too got a little weird feeling cause why would he vote out his close friend? But then again I tried to think from Niki's perspective n thought that he was just a kid during I-Land!! He also had a reason to vote Taki out, he thought Taki needed to improve himself. In Ground, all of them really worked on themselves, and Taki actually had great improvement in the next episodes. We (the audience) could never know how their friendship actually worked right? Maybe Niki knew what Taki was actually lacking, thats why he voted him cause he wanted Taki to do better. The allover editing + subtitles made a whole another meaning of his actions. But you have to understand they were just kids then? It's pathetic if people hate NIKI over this stupid thing! Niki has always been working hard and he only deserves love.. n so is Taki n I'm very proud of him as he finally debuted in '&Team' !! :)

First off, I watched I-LAND because of BTS and had not heard anything about the show before that, so I can say I watched it without any biases. I binge watched the show and I can say it was the most stressful survival shows I have ever watched. But from start to end, Ni-ki was my bias.
It bewildered me when I found out after watching everything, that Ni-ki got so much hate during and after the airing of the show. And oddly enough, everything that made me respect and turned him into my bias, was what people were criticizing him on. I was blown away by his Jopping performance and then he gained my respect when he voted Taki out. It showed to me that he was taking this competition seriously and professionally. Everyone's future is on the line and the respectful and mature thing to do is to objectively vote out the people who did the worst during the entrance performance. He said it from the start, that Taki did well but when compared to the other people who made it to I-land, he didn't do as good of a performance so that's why he had to vote him out, and I completely agreed with his judgement. On top of that, he even took Taki aside and explained why he was voting him out, which shows how much mutual respect and faith he has in Taki's ability to work his way back into I-lLAND. Taki wouldn't have even gotten to I-land to begin with, if it wasn't for Ni-ki raising his hand first, as everyone knew he was not good enough to go to I-land based on that EXO performance he did.
And I really don't understand the whole betraying his friend narrative. They're not bosom buddies. They probably bonded over being the same age and being Japanese but Ni-ki was only a trainee for 8 months so that means that they've known each other for less than that. How close can you be in that short period of time? And you have other contestants who actually have trained together for YEARS voting each other out or not picking them to be on their team but I don't hear outrage over that.
Also, I speak Japanese so I can confirm that the K & Ni-ki conversation did not translate well. Mnet definitely had an agenda when they translated what K & Ni-ki was saying and worded things in a negative and misleading manner. For example, at the end of their discussion, K said 'There's a lot of problems' as a general statement of the situation. It was more of a, 'there are a lot of things to work on/think on/it's not a simple situation, sigh...' kind of nuance but they translated it into, "He's (Heeseung) has a lot of problems." Japanese is a high context culture and language with many different ways to say something, which changes the tone and manner of what is being said and often omits the subject. English is a pretty simple and straight forward language so unfortunately when translating from Japanese (and also Korean) into English, you're always going to get a very abrupt and simplified translation that is missing the nuances and 'personality' of the speaker. For example, in English, if I said, ' he watched my performance'. It's just a factual sentence that describes nothing about the feelings or personality of the speaker. However, in Japanese, I could word the same sentence many different ways, and it could tell you how my personality is. So what I got from the K & Ni-ki conversation was not that they were bad mouthing Heeseung, but they were simply trying to understand the situation - why was Heeseung simplifying the choreography? Both Ni-ki and K are professionally trained in dance while Heeseung has only learned idol dancing at the company, so their mentality and approach to dance is completely different. K and Ni-ki's mentality was that everyone should work hard to match to the level of the choreography assigned, whereas Heeseung's mentality was to simplify the choreography so that everyone was able to do it. And this is where understanding the language comes into play. From the way Ni-ki words things, I can tell that he is a very kind hearted person. Ni-ki smoothly redirected what K was saying about Heeseung into a nicer, more positive direction. K speaks in a direct and sometimes rough way. (Heeseung also mentioned being hurt by this communication style in a later episode.) He's kind of like a typical jock but I think he is working on softening his words.
And in regards to Ni-ki teasing Sunoo, I've never seen any Japanese fans having a problem with it. In fact, they rejoiced it because it shows how close they are and thought it was cute, as it's the stereotypical way a Japanese boy would treat someone they liked. He's has a tsundere personality. And Ni-ki and the other members often said that they like to tease Sunoo because his reactions are cute, which works in Sunoo's favour as well, because he said that he likes receiving attention from others. The members have said that they used to have meetings everyday to discuss and give feed back to each other and if there is ever an issue or problem between members, they would always work it out that day, so I find it so sad that they no longer feel comfortable showing one of the purest and closest relationships in Enhypen to the fans. And it has negatively affected Sunoo as well as I feel like a lot of the members don't feel comfortable interacting with him as much as they used to, when in front of the camera.
Sorry, I didn't mean to write a novel. This abusive behaviour towards Ni-ki, since he was 14 years old, is just something that makes me so mad. Thank you for making this video to try to bring logic back into people's brains.

Facts. This video speaks nothing but facts. Ni-Ki is my bias, he always has been and always will be, no doubt in my mind. He received way too much hate, to the point where he went up to Sunghoon and told him he was thinking about quitting.
I praise Ni-ki, and all of Enhypen, for their courage and resilience, not just during I-LAND but the moments as a group too. They’ve all grown up so much, and I’m happy to see that they’ve moved on from some of the comments and dramatics which went on in the show.

I am not an engene but i respect enhypen. The way this group was created was very good. I can't imagine being in Niki's place. At the time he was on iland I was still confused about what career should I choose. Now he is like famous but I am still preparing for exams for my choice college.( when we are of same age 😅)
Honestly girl, you ate this video really hard, I always loved Niki I was even 14 and watched the show and I didn’t find anything rude about him, I knew he was just being a kid, your brain evolves when you get older, I don’t even remember what I did when I was 8, which happened to be a few years ago a while actually. The most hate comes from Facebook and instagram, people do need to do a reality check I do agree, hate is for no reason, they call Niki a bully because he was fat-shaming sunoo and stuff, no he wasn’t doing that to sunoo, people don’t realise things and sometimes people are followers and not leaders, it’s very common in this world now, people need to use more common sense, like…..interoperability is something all the haters need, they are being real with themselves…but like, is the hate really necessary for a 14 year old, he’s already dealing with so much, he should be Able to live in peace, most of these things we’re relatable.❤ love your videos.!

I love Niki so much .when I first saw enhypen I started to like Niki , he was my bias from the starting . at the age of 14 he had to move to another country and learn new language stay away from his family. In I-land they do not treat Niki as the youngest member like they use to treat Sunoo(I don’t hate Sunoo) in my opinion, how can they hate a beautiful soul like him. i watched i-land 1 year after their debut. I had been their fan since debut but not since i-land and my bias was sunghoon and niki. So when i watched i-land i was 13 y.o. When niki voted out taki i kinda felt as if i didn't like niki that much anymore (it only lasted for a second) , but niki gave his explanation and i thought he did the right thing. Taki really did get better after he was sent on ground. Plus taki was way weaker than most of them and it wouldve been a shame if someone better than taki was sent on ground instead. Also as you said about K and Niki, at that age i was literally influenced by my own friends that were my age, let alone someone who is 9 years older than me. About niki teasing sunoo, people are so sensitive, i am 16 and the only Albanian in my friend group and my friends are Greek since we live in Greece, the shit that we say to each other is crazy. We literally fight each other. if we were idols we'd get so much hate for teasing each other. Ni-ki is still my bias nothing has changed since then.

4:55 the bad habit thing is indeed a mis-translation, but honestly, I think the problem there is early in the show, ni-ki has not established the image of "the best dancer". In fact, he might just have made a fair criticism as someone who is more skilled in dancing than ANYONE in the show.

btw I definitely don't agree that ni-ki is being a normal little boy. no normal little boy needs to work also as the dance teacher for the entire freaking show. Such videos are much needed. I love how everything you stated is so well rounded and, backed up with suitable reasons. It is truly disheartening to see Riki getting hated on for such irrelevant reasons to such extents. I sincerely hope more of the haters get to see this and accordingly mend their ways. Iland really did them bad bro. I didn't like Jay in iland too😂 Jay and Niki both. I binge watched iland after they had debuted, but didn't know anything about enhypen (not even which members had debuted lol). So while watching iland, I had these opinions. But as soon as I completed it and watched enhypen content, I was shocked. They were nothing like they were "shown". I didn't even notice Jake and Jungwon in iland😂 so while watching enhypen content for the frst time, I wondered why Jake was chosen instead of others and why Jungwon became a leader. But just a few more vids, and I realised what iland did. (My 16 y/o self was new to these things, I didn't know how this industry worked🤧 I thought everything they showed was real)
And nowwww, I love all 7 of em, and I know how well mannered Niki is, how well deserving Jake is, how good of a leader Jungwon is, and how loving Jay is. (Even though I'm not an engene)
