I asked the comptroller and the proper tax exemption is off the assessment, not the property tax itself. This only saves you pennies on the dollars. They need to change the rule and have it against the property tax itself, not the assessment. It could be prorated so that if you are 10% rated, you get 10% off the property tax, not the assessment.

Yea I wish they would have it that way as well. The homestead expemtion is going to be the best one unless your 100% DISABLE
