Ah damn, you're right I did get excited at first thinking this would unlock 2020+ DMEs
*hopefully* when they do find a solution, this tool can accomplish the same task. then these will sell like crazy

@@kern417 femto is unlocking 2020+ dme's with stolen credentials from bmw. It will never be commercially available in the US, at least legally.
@@Velkon that's like saying all the existing cracks will never exist. Everybody is working on an exploit. but regardless, nothing was mentioned about femto in this thread

if you see people referring to "bench unlock," it's not associated with new DMEs that need a Femto Unlock. It's different.

Was already thinking MHD, this just helps. I love seeing them solve problems, and stay on top of the latest stuff. Seems like the "buy" the power solution is going to become unlock/software expenses, upgraded XDi injectors/pump and turbo and... That's about it. Not super* cheap but the complications are being reduced still

So, what do you guys think? Would this sway you to go with MHD?
If it required the use the MHD maps/tuning it would definitely sway me to purchase their products. If it worked to bench unlock and allow other tuning platforms, I would purchase it just to have for that sole purpose.
@@CrowSaysMoo Pretty sure the MHD tuner does advertise that you can use JB4 and custom tunes already as well
The Flasher License unlocks the ability to flash with MHD (MHD OTS maps, JB4 backend maps and custom maps)

It definitely would do that for me I have an S58 though so I wish that I could get some use out of this. Really sucks to have to be without your car for a month to get the DME unlocked.

I have a g20 2020 330ix April 2020 build., competitor tune that was that was bench unlocked unfortunantely when idrive7 updates it bricks the car. So the tuner had to disable updates.

My question would be now that it's a MHD product, does it have to be a MHD tune with the MHD unlocking license or can I use BM3, Dinan, ect... OTS tunes?

so, one question, when you bench unlock, you can flash with obd after? or you need to bench unlock it EVERYTIME y ou wanna flash a new map into it ?
Not sure if anyone replied to you already but once you bench unlock you can flash with obd after as many times as you want. However if you update your car's firmware via the infotainment then the ECU will be locked again and you will have to unlock it again

Femto should sell the unlock method before the encryption is broken and they no longer make money

No risk to femto, they have the key to an encrytpion that is impossible to break.
