  • Chris Franklin has the latest update on the Hurricane Beryl forecast.
    We have started to see Hurricane Beryl weaken, it is back down to a Category 4. Still a devastating and potentially catastrophic storm, but at least do see that weakening, which will be a trend through the rest of its existence.
    Right now winds are 155 mph and wind gusts have come down to 190 mph. The core of the storm is still well south of Hispaniola, but that will not be the case as it starts to near Jamaica. We are hoping that maybe the core of the storm would stay much farther south of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
    We've seen a northerly motion of the storm and with that component, we're starting to likely see the possibility of the core of the storm moving directly over Jamaica sometime Wednesday mid-day or early afternoon.
    As it continues it will weaken, but still, a Category 3 storm could bring massive devastation in terms of the winds and high surge.
    Beryl will start to make a turn once it gets to the Bay of Campeche or it may stay out of the Bay altogether and remain more in the southwestern Gulf. However, by the time it gets to that point, it will be a far weaker storm.
    There will be wind shear in the Gulf of Mexico, which will keep the storm unorganized and more than anything just a rainmaker as it moves into either northern Mexico or southern Texas.
    At the moment we are not looking at any impacts. If we were to see any, it would likely be rainfall.
    Once we're done with Beryl, we're watching Invest 96-L. Two days ago, The National Hurricane Center highlighted this with a high percent chance of development. On Monday, the chance decreased to a medium percent chance of development.
    Tuesday, it has a low chance of development.
    As far as Beryl goes, right now we are not expecting any impacts in south Louisiana. If we were to see something, it wouldn't be until early next weekend.
    At the moment, it just looks like rain. Our focus will continue to be on the heat.

    Just saying this is bad news Beryl is going through an ewrc that’s why it’s weakening and because of the shear earlier when it was 30kts and now it’s 20kts anyway if Beryl doesn’t fail the ewrc it will be much more resistant to wind shear so it might just maintain 155mph till landfall in Jamaica c4 or even increase in strength to 160mph c5

    I’ve heard the wind shear in the gulf won’t be there once Beryl moves in allowing it to restrengthen. Did something change and now showing shear?

    • @SaltySouthTexan
      @SaltySouthTexan Před 2 dny

      No, you’re correct, the wind shear will lessen the high pressure ridge will move east and Beryl is moving to fast to be bothered by the wind shear. It’ll be a problem for Texas

    • @jamesclemons632
      @jamesclemons632 Před 2 dny +2

      That's not true, The wind shear will remain in place from Jamaica to Gulf waters.

    • @jamesclemons632
      @jamesclemons632 Před 2 dny +2

      @@SaltySouthTexanThe wind shear will not lessen! It will remain the same! And the problem there will be for Texas and Northern Mexico is rain and Wind and which by then Beryl will be downgraded to Tropical Storm!

      @@jamesclemons632 yes between Jamaica and the gulf but once it enters the gulf the wind shear is weaker

    This thing is gonna shoot the gap after Jamaica and getting Texas cat 5. Why is everyone saying it’s going to hit 87 degree water and weaken? Like bro.

  • @SaltySouthTexan
    @SaltySouthTexan Před 2 dny

    This will be much more to Texas than just rain. Storm surge will be big, winds 100 plus mph, and lot of rain. Where’s this dude getting his info?

    I don’t want to be right, but this guy will be wrong for sure. This storm is too big, too fast and the wind shear is going to lower and it’ll plow through the wind shear like butter still a cat 3-4. Texas better buckle down

      All untrue! The storm is expected to come on the Texas or Northern Mexico Coast has Tropical Storm. Why do people chose to make up there own weather report without any knowledge at all. Just go along with the weather I'm sure he has wayyy more experience than u could even begin to have
