My parents laughed at me because I said LP was a very important part of my teenage years. While I was depressed and down, these songs were my hiding place. Love them forever.
HUGE part of my teenage years....still here a fan... 18 years later, I will forever be thankful for this
Your parents are idiots then. Sorry to say.
I saw one comment, depression will quit when you start enjoying it... Not true tho, but life sucks and that is fact.
This and the first Papa Roach album, pure gold. Made one feel good.
Same, 16 years ago though

I've got mad trust issues and that line punches me in the face because of every GF
Hybrid Theory has no weaknesses, it's a perfect 10, and one of the most important popular rock albums of our time.
Meteora was the greatest album by Linkin Park though.
@aaronaranjo4733 It definitely wasn't. To me, Meteora is like Hybrid Theory B-sides. It's more of the same, and it holds it's own, but I almost never listen to Meteora when I can just listen to the better version of it, which is Hybrid Theory.
You're entitled to your opinion ofc.

I really think LP was originally to save people from the depression
Unfortunately,we can't save Chester :(
how
Helped me to get thought severe family troubles in my 13-14.
If that's what you think you're just a casual.
Every second of every day ❤
Still my favorite LP song. So underrated and hits so hard.
Absolutely.
Facts
My all time top 1 as well.
The perfect duality of melancholy and power.
The emotional orchestra of sorrow, nostalgia, grief, resentment and anger.
The matching pairs of
The lead guitar distorted harmonics + Chesters chorus with just the right amount of distortion
and
The peaceful and beautiful guitar harmonics + Chester's melodic clear verse.
This song just touches me so deeply.
I covered it at a concert one night. The release of adrenaline and all things in between was intense... The best night ever!
This song followed by Forgotten are the best things they've ever done.
No matter how old I get , Linkin Park songs are always fresh to me
chester wasn't just a sympathetic singer, he was also and still is a legend
And he always will be a legend
While you is commenting I am more a time sacrificing myself by a lie
Hell yeah he's a legend
He's not a legend he's a prodigy
And even my Idol
This song is for a lot of scenarios: Love, friendship, family, work...
This song is a diamond nowadays
it's about getting so affected by expactations of people that we become a seperate person just to please people becoming someone they would like and forgetting who we are i.e "Living in a Lie"

They got labelled nu-metal.
But that album is fucking brilliant, and no one can ever take that away.
It still speaks to me 20 years later.
Chester Bennington was a beautiful human being.
This is nu metal and it's ABSA FUCKIN LOUTLY AWESOME!!!1
I love chester and all of Linkin Park. The best band I've ever had the pleasure of hearing (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
Numetal kicks ass. There were posers who said numetal was a fad but that's ignorance and they said the same about grunge. LP were pioneers and that's an honorable title to have. They combined 2 beloved genres plus with the synth, of anything they were nutechmetal.
Nothing wrong with nu metal
Loved a lot of the songs where Chester was singing, not just screaming. He had an amazing and honestly soulful voice. Gone too soon... rest in peace.

I mean srsly, I'm with you that so many songs would deserve as much recognition for sure, but it's kinda pointless.
The remix was even better imo.
People laugh at me when they know that I listen to LP everyday, saying that I am stuck in teenage. I guess I am deeply stuck there then ! :'-) I don't find so much power in most of the other bands...and the fact that Chester passed away sanctified even more this band in my heart.
Just ignored them they dont know true music they probably listen to stupid hip hop or rap
Me too, they were there when no one was
Hahaha
those people are missing out
You aren't stuck at all, lp is still successful nowadays
Non mainstream Linkin park gems are awesome!
@Pal Stewie songs like don't stay place for my head pushing me away forgotten lying from you and from the inside heck even one of their very lesser known songs that i can't name right now was a great banger i remember....some of their hits are underrated like the catalyst lost in the echo leave out all the rest and shadow of the day...they have so many hits...
To me personally their non-mainstream songs were always the best songs. They are more intimate songs, songs that speaks more to our hearts.
This song followed by Forgotten are their very best for me.

Agreed
I still remember the night I first heard this song like it was yesterday. I was around 14 then, my friend lent me his Hybrid Theory cassette that day. Coming from a Christian family who never liked listening to Rock since they mom considers it as the songs of the devil, so I knew I couldn't play this while they were awake. Plus I never really listened to Rock myself, so there's that... I have no influence on listening to Rock. They're used to me sleeping late at night so I waited for them to all sleep before plugging in this old but really good big headphones dad bought back in the 90s, but never used for whatever reason. So anyway... I plugged it on and played Hybrid Theory for the first time. I jammed to the songs I'm familiar with and wasn't really feeling other the songs that time, but they're ok. I was already getting sleepy when Cure For The Itch played, and I honestly fell asleep somewhere in the middle. At that point I felt that it was already becoming a chore to have to listen to all songs, but I persisted to stay awake a bit longer, telling myself that only 1 song left and I can go to sleep after. Cure For The Itch ended, and there was this silence that felt like a good 30 seconds or so... then, the first notes of this song played... immediately, I said "Ok this is nice" before being greeted with that drop at 0:11, and it surprised me that my sleepiness faded... then the lyrics, I was... when I first listened to the lyrics, the song just hit me on a whole different level. It was the first time I heard of a song that really talked to me. I was overwhelmed with emotions, and I couldn't express it all, but I loved that feeling. So, I closed my eyes, and for the entire duration of the song, I was completely absorbed by it... I wanted to rewind it, but it was getting late, and I need to go to school early tomorrow... after all that, I was left with this feeling of awe and I couldn't get enough of it. This song immediately became my most favorite song in Hybrid Theory ever!!
I am a cristian and i love Linkin Park with all my heart and miss Chester so so much. They sang about pain, about love, forgiveness, misunderstanding and insecurity, about so many feelings that every person has felt... I trully believe they are gifted by God and could touch every corner of my heart with music and words... I am so thankful this music exists and has always been with me

I pulled over to the side of the turnpike earlier bc I couldn't process the news of what just happened to my favorite musician. My heart heavy and tears rolling down my face. Playing in the background was 'pushes me away' what is probably my all time favorite Linkin Park song. As I sat there.. I reflected. I reflected on 16+ years of what Chester and his music did for me. The music I used to help me get through some of the toughest and most darkest times of my life. Music I used to celebrate happy times with friends. Music of which I witnessed first hand at as many different concerts as I can count on my hands and toes. Music that has produced tears of joy and tears of sadness in my eyes. Music that has brought countless hours of singing at the top of my lungs both in the shower and whilst driving. Ive never met you Chester Bennington.. but I feel your powerful voice and music has shaped me into being the person I am today. Through your music, your gift of sound will forever live on with me.. for that I am truly thankful. RIP

Finallly: Sorry for my horrible english. Ich denke, mein Deutsch wäre wahrscheinlich um Welten besser, but, fuck off... Last english lesson was thirty years ago, i think.... What the hell...., it's all heavy...everywhere....strangely enough....
Keep on rockin' 🤘🎸🤘
Me again 😉
This was my angered uproar, angered anger, my violence, and my deep, emotional turmoil, which had nothing to do with a phantasy. All this was his voice for me. This voice, these songs, which were so intense, helped me at that time to ground me so that I was hardly any more violent, and for the most part alone, my deep-seated. My. To actually rotate life by 180 °. His aggression during singing has so often prompted tears, tears, which were actually my anger and anger. He gave me my lost tears, which would otherwise have landed again as a fist in a face ..... He taught me to feel again.
Chester, even if you were, for the most part, miles away from me, in your songs, you are so close to me as hardly a man before. As before, but different.

This Is The Last Smile
That I'll Fake For The Sake Of Being With You
(Everything Falls Apart
Even The People Who Never Frown
Eventually Break Down)
The Sacrifice Of Hiding In A Lie
(Everything Has To The End
You'll Soon Find We're Out Of Time Left
To Watch It All Unwind)
The Sacrifice Is Never Knowing
Why I Never Walked Away?
Why I Played Myself This Way?
Now I See, You're Testing Me
Pushes Me Away
Why I Never Walked Away?
Why I Played Myself This Way?
Now I See, You're Testing Me
Pushes Me Away
I've Tried Like You
To Do Everything You Wanted Too
This Is The Last Time
I'll Take The Blame For The Sake Of Being With You
(Everything Falls Apart
Even People Who Never Frown
Eventually Break Down)
The Sacrifice Of Hiding In A Lie
(Everything Has To End
You'll Soon Find We're Out Of Time Left
To Watch It All Unwind)

Why I Played Myself This Way?

This song is like a wine, becoming more older and more better in every single moment❤️
Essa música mostra toda a perfeição da voz do Chester!
After years of listening, i finally fully understand this song
Sorry man...sounds like a relationship gone bad. Hang in there
me too
And now hits me hard. It happens truly in my life, right now.
Me too. I don't know if this is ache of anger or sadness... :(
@@Jaguartmb Uh that's not the point of the song it's about getting so affected by expactations of people that we become a seperate person just to please people becoming someone they would like and forgetting who we are i.e "Living in a Lie"
Not sure why, but this is the one LP song i always seem to come back to. Theres something special about it, something super nostalgic
BontgomoryMurns Because there are emotions in this song
To me the beginning on the guitar part
For me it's faint, but this and place for my head are tied in second place
I agree. I mean, Hybrid Theory is a masterpiece back to front in my opinion. But there is, as you said, just something special about the track. It's definitely in my top 10 of LP songs.
It's the opening riff. I don't know but it throws me back. Same with Cumulus.
meteora and hybrid theory carry so much emotion for me, It was a priviledge to have these songs trough my life
One of Linkin Park's absolute masterpieces. My favourite track on this album. Absolute banger
Happy birthday, Hybrid Theory
Didn't they form sometime in 1999?
They formed in 1996 under name Xero, however the lead singer was Mark Wakefield. After their first demo, he left, and Chester Bennington joined in 1997 or 1998. They changed the name to Hybrid Theory and released EP in 1999. That helped them to get the recording contract with Warner bros. They changed the name to Linkin Park and released their first album, Hybrid Theory in 2000, which brought them international success. I guess you konow the rest of the story :)
Awesome. If I had known that sooner I would've wished them happy 20th!
Rest In Peace, Chester
This album has changed my life. Got me into rock and metal and is still my favourite album. It will never grow old
We should replace years BC and AC with BHT and AHT
I bought the album when it came out and i learned the lyrics then. After 20 years i've not forgotten a lot. Hybrid Theory is one of the best albums that were produced. 👍
A música que eu mais amo dessa banda incrível ❤😢❤😢❤😢❤ Chaster você sempre será lembrado pelas suas músicas maravilhosas
His tone was simply flawless.
Songs related to loss love from each albums (could be more than one but im picking the best one):
HT: Pushing Me Away
Meteora: Figure.09
MTM: Valentine's Day
ATS: The Messenger
LT: Powerless
THP: Final Masquerade
Powerless :D
+Dayz 3O6 The Messenger isn't about lost love. Chester wrote it for his kids.
+Fragonborn Entertainment ATS was the hardest one I can only see The Messenger was the closest one.
Dmitry Kukharenko Most of their song have this universal meaning I remember Mike saying one song remind him of this, while to Chester it is something else. Yeah numb is not really but it is close especially with its melody, think of numb this way, it is your love one trying to mold you into what they always wanted.
+Dayz 3O6 Chester was bullied growing up, and most of his songs sound like his depression. Why he never walked away from the bullies and still tried to get liked, they just pushed him away and bullied him more. "I'm tired of being what you want me to be" is saying that the bullies want him to be normal "Be more like me and be less like you" but he wants to be himself. He's become so numb from depression. I know about this stuff from experience.
This song started playing in my head randomly. I missed you Chester.
We all miss him😢
Like many LP albums, this entire thing is full of incredible songs. You can just let it play thru.
"This is the last smile that ill fake for the sake of being with you" that strikes my heart 2020 we miss you chester 😔😇🙏
Listening to his voice hurts like hell!! but I can't stop!
Is that a compliment or an insult 😂
Urbanelle it’s just hurts because he’s gone, that’s what the person means.
@@JohnDoe-oj6yt I know I was joking
I was introduced to them and hybrid theory in 2001 by my cousin. To this day I still listen to this album daily. This band played a huge role in a lot of peoples lives, and I will forever be thankful to them.
Anyone here in 2024?
We here for Chester brother🤝🏾
Opa 2024 essa música sem palavras.
Yesssiirrrrr
Yeah bro
I'm here always 2027 2040 even
R.I.P, his voice helped many teenagers to feel better. Thank you !
Not just teenagers. He helped adults and teenagers alike. Many adult's were depressed, and Still are, during the reign of Linkin Park. Chesters voice was a light in the dark for a lot of people. Not just teenagers.
So true dude
including me
Yeah seriously his lyrics put emotions I felt growing up into perspective and really nuanced the expression through song. Truly amazing artist.
Right
I'm sixteen and I feel like I'm a old soul like you guys and girls who use to listen to linkin park back in the early 2000
By the way I am now 17

Forgotten was the first song I heard and after a while the others grew on me so this is my first favorite album.
Jamila Andersson ur awesome
Jasper Bunny yes, this was the first album I heard
This band made me get through my depressing/suicidal times when i was a teen. Thankfully. Linkin Parks' Music saved me. Im almost 30, and i still love this band!
Love to you friend! ♥♥
It helps me get threw my dark battles.
K O I'm really glad to see that you're way better now. Keep listening to Linkin Park and take care of yourself.
Harshit Dhingle Same here. I feel guilty for the same reason.
I'm now in suicidial teen times. Feels bad man... But I shouldn't explain stuff to you...
This song and Chester's vocals here were just beautiful. I could hear the emotion in his voice. I honestly can't pick a favorite song in the first two albums. They are all great.
Дуже шкода , але тепер це тільки в наших серцях ❤
heart broken with today's news. No rockstars death has impacted me until today. RIP chester 🙁
marcoarf791 same. I literally cried when I heard about it. I was out visiting with family. Celeb deaths didn't affect me until Chester passed.

i agree...a hard impact.
If you do not like the song, you have no soul
Love linkin park there music is original no copies and they dont need to swear or have booty in there videos to be good
if you are not original, you have no soul
There are people who don’t like the song so don’t be saying that stuff
@@Condamine123456 Chester swore many times, but it wasn't to express how many bitches and money he had.
@@pedrov.2545 he meant that as in they didn't need to include those in their content to be awesome.
"everything falls apart even the people that never frown, eventually break down" rip chester! That hurt my soul.
It’s safe to say that this is my favorite song off of Hybrid Theory. The lyrics are very relatable to me but also the melody is so freaking good!! Linkin Park will always be THAT band to me ever since middle school :)
I heard this song back when I was 14, and my obsession with LP began, and with alternative music in general. I can't believe that Chester left us. Of all the people, why him? saying you will be missed is an understatement. Hope ya find peace, Chester
Love Linkin Park Chester helped me a lot in my teen years
Started when I was 14 too. Heard What I've Done on TV and decided to look it up and then found the rest of their music. I'm almost 23 now. Maybe not as much of a long time fan as others but it doesnt matter. They were a part of my life for such a long time and idk where I would be otherwise.
he never left us he's been here all along in our hearts
I was 13 when I got into lp it helped me allot with depression
The moment I heard the bad news on the radio (and I rarely turn it on since 2014-'15, so I suppose it was one of the many awkward "coincidences" that happen to me) about "a huge rock singer who died yesterday" I knew it was either him or Amy Lee. Still, it hit like a truck and felt, like death usually seems when you lose someone you've come to care about, like a bad joke, so unbelievable. For a few hours I really thought there must be some way that the internet was trolling hard for some reason, even though that guy on the radio had made it clear that wasn't the case.
At least the world will always have songs made by someone who cared, hurt and even died because of that (well, most likely, since life can easily drive you crazy when it seems to hate you, especially when something is supposedly wrong with the chemistry of your brain, I guess), which can save others by easing the pain a little and showing them that we all have to share the load (through art, too) and try to be positive, even if we truly are lonely, depressed, unlucky, unloved, and so on.
Hopefully, some day we'll learn... though I don't see that many ppl becoming better parents, for a start. Simply because we've been too selfish and invested in the wrong priorities for so long now, and not everyone gets that there are consequences and you *do* shape the world by how you choose to see it, how certain ppl have brainwashed you (from parents to society in general), and how you yourself brainwash or treat others (and yourself, actually). For example, so many complain but they put so much pressure on others, or say the stupidest things like it doesn't matter at all, although sometimes they create a very real wrong impression by doing so. But hey, at least more and more realize the basics lately and they only get sicker of all the hate and stupid games, so, you never know.
Can't know if he'd agree with me on anything but I'm sure we all find at least one way to let artists like him make us better humans. Maybe I tend to overthink a little and I wrote partially irrelevant things again :p Whatever, I've always thought that understanding and respecting everyone/everything and learning to care the right way is the most important thing in life, and this guy seemed to get a lot of ppl and what they're going through, so I hope it makes sense that I decided to mention these. I'm quite sleepy atm so I'm just gonna post the thing without editing/removing anything :s
p.s. This song has always been among my faves, it was one of the first 2-3 I listened to last year. Btw, it'll be an infinitely awkward musical experience to listen to new material by LP, but nowadays I'm not so firm on my initial opinion ...thought they should stop making music under that name, but now I'd say it wouldn't make much of a difference to only change their name... they don't need me to tell them this, but they only need to respect his memory and maybe use some old vocals of his for some sad songs. It could be so sweet.

I`ve lied to you
난 너에게 거짓말을 했어
The same way that I always do
내가 항상 해왔었던 방법으로
This is the last smile that I`ll fake for the sake of being with you
이 마지막 미소로 당신과 함께 하기 위해 속이겠어
(Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down)
(모든 것이 흩어지고, 심지어 아무렇지 않게 살아가던 사람들도 무너지고 있어)
The sacrifice of hiding in a lie
거짓말 속에 숨겨진 헌신
(Everything has to end, you`ll soon find we`re out of time left to watch it all unwind)
(모든 것은 끝을 맞아야해, 너는 곧 알게 될거야 모든 것이 풀리기를 바라볼 시간은 바닥났다는 것을)
The sacrifice is never knowing
그 희생은 절대 알수 없어
Why I never walked away
내가 왜 떠나지 못하였는지
Why I played myself this way
왜 이런식으로 밖에 살아갈 수 없었는지도
Now I see you`re testing me
이제야 당신이 날 시험하고 있다는것을 알았어
Pushes me away
날 밀어내고 있어
I`ve tried like you
당신처럼 노력했어
To do everything you wanted to
네가 바라는 모든 것을 하기 위해
This is the last time I`ll take the blame for the sake of being with you
이 마지막 시간을 당신과 함께하기 위해 내가 비난을 받겠어
(Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down)
(모든 것이 흩어지고, 심지어 아무렇지 않게 살아가던 사람들도 무너지고 있어)
(Everything has to end, you`ll soon find we`re out of time left to watch it all unwind)
(모든 것은 끝을 맞아야해, 너는 곧 알게 될거야 모든 것이 풀리기를 바라볼 시간은 바닥났다는 것을)
We`re all out of time
우리에겐 다 시간이 바닥났어
This is how we find how it all unwinds
이렇게 해서 우리는 모든것이 어떻게 풀리는지 알게 되는 거야
