Here is the extended version of the building process for my shop stool. Constructing wood furniture using only joinery takes time but it is so much fun!!

Samurai, you got MAD joinery skills. You are a true artisan and an artist, I love seeing this.
The first time I watched Samurai I remember thinking to myself "Wow, this guy is cocky." The problem with this thought is the awesome work he does in almost every video. Thanks! keep it up.
I love your Japanese jointery techniques! So much fun to watch.
Absolutely cool. This is the real woodworking
Very nice. I know these types of videos take a lot of work but it sets you apart. Loved it!
damn, this is sick. Perfect compliment to the work bench. What's crazy is that when I'm watching these videos I'm not really seeing it as you're making it. I'm imagining it in 100 years, full of scars, but still rock solid. Who will be sitting on it and what they may be creating themselves. What's beautiful about it is knowing that in 100 years they can go back and watch this video. Witnessing it's birth and it's maker, long gone, creating it. What a f-ing time we live in. As always, I look forward to seeing more.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite CZcams channels.
Next level workmanship! THIS piece of art is certainly not for a shop! will try to reproduce it in my shop!
This is one beautiful piece of art my friend.
ridiculously superb and inspirational. Kudos to you my friend from the land down under.
you're an artist!!!!!!!
You sir are a true craftsman and it was a pleasure to watch
awesome dude. that sliding dovetail on the seat sealed the deal.
Very clear and easy to follow DIY instructions.
Thank you
I dont have words. I like it!
Um...three after you don't have any words. ;-)
Invite the Samurai to your channel so your low viewership will get a boost.
We all can use a bit of samurai
I note your appreciation for the details. Fantastic.
"Shop Stool"?! Looks more like a leaving room art piece to me! :)
ASousa Makes It museum quality.
You are extremely talented my friend and make joinery look easy.
awesome, pls more videos like this
Been watching your videos for a while now. Been off work for a year recouperating from my forth spinal fusion and all I do is watch videos. I love your watching you build projects you are awesome!! From Nova Scotia! I can’t wait to get in my shop again! I have not done dovetail or worked much with hand?tools always used power tools well watching videos like yours has inspired me to try thank you!!
I was using wood prix instructions to make it and I did it already :)
That is a gorgeous stool, very nicely combined lighter and darker woods, curves, wedges, great design... Just beautiful "chapó".
Tablesaw sled, you can thank me when you retire with all your fingers intact :P Beautiful work as always though!
Thinking the same thing. Or at least a mitre gauge...
Yeh, my boss had that attitude till he lost top part of his thumb. and he had 35+ years of exp with machines. it wont ever happen till it does. better safe than sorry bud
+tyvek05 well, as a musician and hack carpenter, ha ha, I would be really bummed out to loose any portion of a fraction of a digit. there's plenty good storys, like the time I DIDN'T cut my fingers off.
"How did you lose the top part of your finger?"
"On the table-saw while building a chair"
"Great story!"
+policy308 only if you have insurance!laminate and paste it next to the blade with corresponding amount claim.lol
I really don't understand the 91 people wrote unlike for this great job... I wish all this 91 people show if can do better the this... samurai you are very good carpenter, Tks for all expired....
Amazing stuff! Although, not sure that a hollow chisel mortiser is a simple, basic tool. Hah!
You could do it with a drill and chisel, it just takes longer.
Man. The stool is gorgeous and the video beautiful. The music and the editing were just on point. Great job man. Very inspiring stuff.
That is a mad crazy stool.
I built one last year for my workshop out of square stock and it still had 4 wobbly legs and a loose seat lol
Your work is always great, really clean and accurate, but for me it’s your imagination for design, simultaneously hugely inspiring and humbling.
Amazing work! I'm just curious how many hours into that stool?
A week or more.
A week or more of free time or full time work?
3 days
The Samurai Carpenter OHHH!! you so sick jess, finest kind. only my 3rd er 4th time seein this video tho, so . . . guess i cant think of any of them ive seen only once. much and many thanks, lil feller!
Very nice work. Attention to details, true craftsman. Congrats.
exceptionally nice work mate. you make me nervous on the table saw cutting tenons though!
Looks like most of his cuts are slow, controlled, precise. You really have to go slow and be patient but I guess there is always a SawStop, what I'm looking at right now.
curves of this stool are very harmonious. they are very pleasing to the eye.
very fine art.
awesome.
simply awesome...
Only thing I missed was the dancing ;-)
Haha, just take a look at the other video if you want some fabulous dancing ;)
Here is a great resource you can check out if you want some high quality woodworking plans: HootWood. com
I loved this one. The music was great and watching the work was awesome.
now really ,cut the crap ... this stool is for your living room right?
No, it is designed specifically to match my workbench. I used the same types of would in the same configuration and also incorperated similar joinery and design details so they fit well together.
I think he's joking that it's such high quality, that it can't possibly just be a "workbench stool" :)
+The Samurai Carpenter You completely missed BisdremisKostas' compliment to craftsmanship.
You are a true craftsman. I totally understand why solid wood furniture cost what it cost now. I love your stuff I'm going to try to make something no where as nice as yours
That’s F-ing mind blowing cool. Especially the dovetail joinery for attaching the top!
Awesome SAMURAI STOOL... Really beautiful work...
One of the most amazing pieces i ever saw. I love the design! Like a fairytale
So satisfying to watch. Brilliant work brother!
Dude, you are a Master of your craft.
Never seen people place wedges in the tenon, only seen it in older work. I do like. Its good to see
Work of art! Beautiful! Watching you is mesmerizing!
Wow! Everything you do blows my mind. Your craftsmanship is a cut way above anyone else's.
Gotta say, I don’t normally like this sort of un-narrated video; however, this is very well done. Love the music. My only regret is I would like to have seen a slower version of the carving of the seat.
beautiful, and inspiring craftsmanship.
a gorgeous piece. i probably could not get away with the sliding dovetail seat securing in the midwest humidity we have here.
I can't help but just sit with my mouth open continuously awing at this. That is quite possible one of the most attractive pieces of furniture I've ever seen.
I really have no way to express my love for the art of carpentry, and you my friend does it with such beauty that only me gives even more desire to have do things as beautiful as those you present. Thank you.
Dude you are a craftsman. This stool is am amazing wood working projects. You amaze me ever time I see your cabinetry pure genius.
PS I have seen the other video with you dancing (dont give up your day job ) rof lol
Thank you for the smile on my face
Beautiful piece of furniture. Considering that you built it without using any nails makes it even more special. Well done.
True craftsmanship...gorgeous stool bro.
He who works with his hands is a labourer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.
~Francis of Assisi
Beautiful stool. You have a real gift for design. On the other hand, some of those tenon cuts on your table saw without a sled or tenoning jig gave me the willies!
Never gets old Jesse! Love this display of craftsmanship!
Now here’s an interesting strategy I hadn’t thought of. As friend I chatted with recommended I google Hyezmar’s book. I did and found many plans, but none like this, thanks!
It is one thing to do the work, another to present it as beautifully as the piece, great stuff.
Beautiful. I have absolutely no need for a stool. But, you make me want to make at least a pair of them now.
Sublime design and craftsmanship. Hats off to you.
Sincèrement RESPECT ! Assemblage nickel et très intéressant, idée original, créative et résultat magnifique ! Franchement du bon boulot ! Amitié sincères !
You're not just a samurai because of your toolbox, but mostly because of your spirit of perfectionism.
this dude is immensely talented!
WOW, I have never seen anything like it. That is one heck of a stool. What a creative work of art.
I think that you should upload more videos like this, only if you have the time ,i have never seen such skills like yours, thanks to you I have perceivierd and seen through my first year of college and have landed a carpenters job , thanks for taking the time to upload these inspirational videos , Well done on all your success and truly thank you.

Damn man, there was some phenomenal workmanship in these stools. You are living the dream, a superb craftsman and I enjoy all your videos. Respect.
True piece of art.
your joinery work is absolutely beautiful. its been many years since ive sen anyone build something with no screws or nails. just fantastic!
WOW that came out incredible
Woah! Such smart details. The form looks too awesome. 👌🏼
Man. You give life to wood after the tree has fallen. Thanks for sharing.
You really are the master of youtube woodworking!!! you don't see much of this accuracy!
That is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen. Wonderful work.
It would be nice to see again videos if things you do to your customers! the staircase video is great!
Dude! The force is strong with you. :)
This stool is possibly the best build I've ever seen.
Beautiful piece! Your condensed presentation of joinery processes is very clear. And IMO, this method of highlighting tools you recommend is far more useful and convincing than any straight-up review video could ever be... Hope you keep it up. Thanks.
Это просто невероятно! Такого уровня мастерства я не видел ещё на CZcams.
Very nice work! Beautiful stool and great job with video.
Thanks.
That's the most ridiculously beautiful stool I've ever seen! You totally rock!!
WOW that's a beautiful stool, nice job
This was a great video, it brought me back to the days when you made things like that sink out of that big river rock. Pure craftsmanship through and through.
Thank you for sharing.
TOTALLY Freakn AWESOME!!! I've watched BOTH vid's.. the short artsy one made me LOL FOUR TIMES!! Ya crazy ass! Love it bro. Keep on sharing the love with us!!
Gorgeous stool and a pleasure to watch it come to together into a piece of art.
I would have turned the seat 90 degrees, but other that that: I hope your children will appreciate all the Heirloom-quality things that you leave them with!
I hope you brand your creations, they will be collector items in the future.
Beautiful work, plenty of great joinery ideas
Looks good dude! You're a gifted man.
The "hold fast" devices do a great job. Years ago we used them (larger scale of course) in a metal-working shipfitter shop, and they were referred to as "dogs", as in "dogging-down" the work.
as a beginner woodworker, wow... such beauty
Beautiful work - lovely to see curvy rather than straight lines on a stool 👍👍😁
you are an artist i am in love with your work and your video
Beautiful workmanship mate.
You ARE an ARTIST Jessie and with Dutch ancestry you should be called Jessie Van Gogh! Such a nice taste and design intuition! AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!
Very nice work I admire what you're doing and showing the craft and the process for doing it. I've created a one-of-a-kind custom stump chair you can find it in my playlist look forward to hear from you by 4 now God bless Ken
Those sliding dovetails just completely blew my mind.
Something very therapeutic about this video. Thanks!
Bonjour et grand Merci
Vous me faites adorablement aimer le bois et ses métiers .... un grand merci
Really like the look of the shop stool. Puts my shop stool to shame. enjoyed the video
