Outrage over Manipur women paraded naked; ITLF takes out massive rally in Churachandpur

The Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum or ITLF took out a massive rally in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on July 20 demanding a 'Separate Administration'. This comes as a mark of protest after a video from May 4 surfaced online on Wednesday showing two women being paraded naked a day after violence hit the state. The rally which saw the participation of thousands, including women, youth and elders started at around 10 am at Lamka Public Ground.
The rally, which started under a sunny sky, continued even after heavy rain drenched the participants as they made their way to Peace Ground. Slogans demanding separation administration and condemning Chief Minister N Biren Singh echoed during the rally.
The crowd later gathered at Peace Ground where leaders of ITLF and community chiefs addressed the gathering. Local artists also performed at the Peace Ground. The rally ended with the submission of a memorandum to Home Minister Amit Shah through the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur.
