Tornado rips through Nebraska: leaving wounded and dead

- Dozens of tornadoes have been leveling towns, closing highways and cutting off power throughout the Midwest since Friday, and it's been revealed that at least four people have died from the severe weather front. Twisters ripped through Holdenville, Oklahoma on Saturday night, with officials confirming this morning that there have been four fatalities, including one child. Flood watches and warnings are in effect Sunday for Oklahoma, one of the hardest hit states, as well as Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. Hughes County Emergency Management confirmed the deaths in Holdenville, one of them a 4-month-old baby, on top of 14 homes being damaged or destroyed and 100 people suffering tornado-related injuries. The search for trapped or missing individuals in the town started Saturday night after the storm left the area. The four-month-old child, who lived in a house that was reportedly destroyed, was among the people authorities were looking for. The child was found and taken to a hospital but was later pronounced dead. As authorities assess the damage to Holdenville and other towns that were struck by tornados, the death toll is feared to increase as the day goes on. #nebraska #tornado #extremeweather

I never knew direct verbal commands to a tornado were an effective way of dodging it
My thoughts exactly. They can change directions on a dime
Life and death are in the power of the tongue. The Bible.
I mean, has anyone rose tried? 😅
No one lost their life in Nebraska, and there were only a few minor injuries. Credit for this is due to the excellent early warnings and extensive storm spotters reports.
That and 3pm... people were at work and school
You need to redo your title because nobody died in the tornadoes in Nebraska.
Actually, one of the people injured by one of the tornados I think in Iowa passed away due to injuries
@@AwxCO1That did not happen in Nebraska. The title is still misleading.
"I'm a pro, Bob" -- hmm, not very reassuring.
As a 33yo Scotsman a couldn’t imagine seeing this up close
🙏 to you all
You have a water horse in Scottish sea
It’s a Midwest thing
I've driven pass tornadoes a lot growing up it's a cool and terrifying experience. We just drive the speed limit you can't out race and get outta there like you think
We lost our home to that in Elkhorn. My wife was in basement
Sorry you lost your home. Glad you are both safe
@@tst1200 thank you so much
"I'm a pro Bob." If that was a storm chase tour, that was reckless endangerment.
I am a pro......famous last words.
What about old mate the tornado whisperer, every time he said 'dont do it' the tornado would rope up again...
Yes mate. Exactly what i thought.
Tornado whisperer.
oh look a huge tornado....let me go stand in front of this big plate glass window...because getting a video is more important than living.
That's what I'm thinking! Let your ring camera get it. GET IN YOUR BASEMENT!
🎯 100% "the cameraman never dies" 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
If a tornado looks like it's not moving but just spinning, run and seek safety. It's coming at you! I wish people would use landscape more on their camera phones!
I was watching some of these on livestreams. Never seen a day like this with these images. Terrifying
Clenching my teeth watching…shoulders hunched up to my ears😮
The power of "no."
Or more specifically, "no, no, no, no, no, no, no..."
Maybe it depends on how fast/how many times you say it.
'I'm a pro bob" HOOKAY BUDDY
Poor people.I can still remember one in my teens in Florida, passing by our car, and we miraculously avoided it
I grew up in Western Nebraska and we never stood outside and watched tornadoes nor did we drive on the roads to look at a tornado. Are these people crazy driving next to it just to get a look or take a video? I am amazed by the lack of common sense of people thinking nothing will happen to them.
Some of these footages are done by professional storm chasers. It's their job to film, spot, and watch tornadoes. It's for research purposes and to help meteorologists get a more accurate location of said tornadoes during the storm and to study them after they're gone. Storm chasers have really helped a lot in the field of weather study.
No they are not crazy. Starting in the 1970s even before there was all this digital videos people starting to chase tornadoes. Their vehicles were crammed with instrumentation. What came out of that was doppler radar that could detect the change in direction and speed of the rain. As a result of this many towns and ringed themselves with sirens for tornado warnings that are accurate. As cameras shrank and became more affordable it was only a matter of time before John Q. Public learned how to chase these things just like the pros. But before those days people were a lot more leery of going outside during stormy weather.
We did all the time in Oklahoma, but strom chasers do it for excitement and thrill
Or sometimes these are just regular people trying to get likes
.. Trying to get the big $$$ shot ..
Pray for the families that lost their loved ones ❤
Used to live in Elkhorn (West Omaha) off of Maple a couple years ago. I know exactly where this hit in Elkhorn. Some amazing footage. Wow, that was a big tornado.
Had numerous tornado warnings during my years there, usually late afternoon's into the early evenings. Worst were in the am when you were asleep. Nothing like a
tornado siren waking you up at 2am running around trying to get your sleepy kids and dogs down to the basement.
I know with everyone having a smart phone, it's cool to see some of these videos. But those twits standing by their window videoing it as it goes by, close enough to send
everything next to their home into the next county were just plain STUPID!! You NEVER stand by glass during a T Storm or Tornado. One of those flying objects could have
flown through the window and killed someone. I was raised as a kid to respect Mother Nature and not be stupid. Those people are very fortunate their house wasn't destroyed.
My thoughts and prayers are with my fellow Nebraskan's.
I got hit by a tornado in Joplin on April 30th. I was the only resident to lose my roof. That was 1997 . I wasn’t very mobile as I had donated a kidney to my dad and not healed yet. I can remember looking out the window and seeing 5 or 6 tornadoes at one time. That house is gone. 2011 May took it away.
What are the are there tornado vertices or just a huge one
I know a fellow who works as a tv cable installer. He says the new homes are his favorite… just punch a hole in the plastic siding, go though some cheap drywall and you’re in.
Does he just work at trailer parks lol
I think your buddy is full of it.

WOW
MASSIVE MONSTER
I really feel for these people. I have lived in Florida all of my 71 years and have never seen a hurricane destroy so completely as these tornados do in under a minute. There is no comparison. We get some very strong hurricanes here and the occasional small tornados, but nothing that levels a home in 30 seconds. I live in a 2-story wood frame home and have never had any damage to my home even with powerful, direct hits lasting hours and hours. When homes do get damaged, it is usually because of tree falling against a house, but this is 100% preventable when you keep the trees trimmed correctly and don't plant trees with shallow roots. Flooding can be a problem is very low-lying areas, but these areas are avoidable. I also live on a small lake, but the drainage plans have been very effective when dealing with large amount of water. However, our low-lying coastal areas do experience devastation, but they get plenty of warning time to vacate.
I'm from Omaha and now live in Pensacola. Haven't experienced a hurricane yet. But I hear people at work talk about the dangerous tornadoes they get here in Florida and just chuckle.
The other thing that I find odd here is when we actually had a tornado warning over a week ago, no one knew about it. No sirens. Finally had an alert on our phone 20 minutes AFTER
the warning had apparently started. What a joke.
@@gemini6828 So true. Florida tornados are child's play compared to these monsters.
OMG! That's SCARY! PRAY YOU ARE SAFE!
Why do you have to scream? Excitement? I couldn't watch the whole thing.
You don't know much about tornados do ya. They are loud have to scream over the sound to hear yourself think. Also hmm don't see you out near one.
because tornadoes "roar" and you have to scream to be heard
The guy just kept repeating himself which has nothing to do with how loud a tornado is.
I appreciate the work you are doing.
I'm all about safe storm chasing, but am I the only one who thinks driving into debris clouds is a bad idea? Or standing by a window while furniture flys by?
That last shot was super scary.
Prayers to all in Nebraska. Stay safe 🙏❤
I'm in Indiana. There have been countless tornadoes over my lifetime. Including one of the worst in history.
The Palm Sunday tornadoes.
I have never seen one with my own eyes. I can't imagine being this close.
Get your facts straight zero fatalities from the outbreak on 4/26/24, and there was 2 fatalities in Oklahoma on 4/27/24.
And the reason why oklahoma had deaths was..either night time or lack of proper tornado shelters?!?
That has been updated to 4 fatalities
@kitsune2021, there were 4 fatalities in Oklahoma. 2 in Holdenville, 1 in Marietta, then 2 in Sulphur 1 adult and a 4 month old.
where is this.?
Incredible
As bad as this sounds, be thankful yall can see for miles when one is coming. Down here we can’t see sh being surrounded by trees on all sides.
What tornado isn't violent?
Storm chasers are a special breed…
I remember many years ago there were 2 guys who also chased tornados like this. They lost their lives when one tornado swung around and hit their car. You guys be careful. Tornados are unpredictable. I have been inside 2 tornados in a car. The trees branches literally flatten straight down to the ground. Of course my tornados were not as strong as this one is. That is why I am still alive. It was an amazing experience.
Can't believe twister crossing I-80 like step aside everybody new marshal in town.
Narrator - HUSH 🤫
and you wonder why I do not live in Nebraska ? Do the math ! I have !!!
“I’m a pro bob” - he said before sending himself and friends to their creator
The one at 6 minutes or so turned vicious.
Oh my that's devastating. All the debris flying around, houses being damaged. Holy poop. Huge tornado wow. Mother Nature at its worst.I love a great storm thunder and lightning but, I hope I never have to witness this. So, so scary. Be safe, take cover.
3:23 always talk to the tornado. It works.
Blur filter? What is going on with the first vid, look at the trees being blurred and the tornado looking blurry, while the edges of the video stay clear. Wipers are working. Almost suspect doctored video.
So zorry
*You need balls of steel to drive next to a tornado*
No you don't
Or just live in the midwest USA haha
They are sooo excited storm chasers NO WAY😳
Why are you guys driving towards the tornado ?
Pq são 13 e têm 07 vidas
that's what storm chasers do
wow
I wonder what the dash cam video of the truck drivers looks like. I mean, tornadoes aren't small. He/ she had to see it coming
Did they make it
To heaven
Finally a use for all those camera lenses on phones.
8:27 - Redefining: 'Right Of Way' !
That truck diver should be fired,, as if he didn't see the tornado, drove straight into it.. he's driving, he's got eyes
🙏🙏🙏
0:44 😅
We can hear you!! Quit yelling.
Imagine complaining about a guy yelling during a life altering event.
While they’re hooping as hollering; ppl are dying
Do you know why there always got tornado? Because of no tree.
I live in FL. Will take a hurricane anyday over this. Why are so many people driving?
🌪🌪🌪....😱
With flying debris, why are the people standing outside to look at it?
Bc they are Americans
Because we are Nebraskans. That's our entertainment. Generally most born and raised here know enough to handle the situation. The title of this is wrong. I know of zero deaths and 0 severe injuries from this day we know what to do. If you don't you better run and hide.
Its the midwest; we see a bunch of these a year lmao. This one is just big so we wanna look at the thing
How do movie cgi look more real than a real one ?
... images of flying Monkeys ...
If this hit a big town we prob have our first f5 in 11 yrs
Like my momma said “it’s all fun until someone loses an eye”
And people in US still build houses out of wood!
LOL even in a brick home or a stell built home a twister can rip it apart look how strong the wind in around the vortex .
Will never learn
First off, stone doesn't help much because the main risk is stuff falling over. Second, the plains aren't all America. Third, you're just as likely to be killed by lightning
Dumba$$
Not that simple
I thought it was another EV fire😂😂
Storm chasers seeking a thrill, also tease the Devil, tis only a matter of time which storm turns in their disfavour and they may pay with their lives🧐
My 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🫂🫂😔
Anyone for supporting the development of Hydrogen fuel?
😢😢😢😢
I think its better to have a concreat built houses rather than wooden and plastic ones. We also live in the place where we have to face natural disaters on regular interval.
Concrete will work against most tornadoes, however, a high level F4 or F5 will still level a concrete structure. For those, it's best to safely vacate the area rather than shelter in place.
I thought you would be accustomed to this by now, don't you get tornadoes every year?
They do. Few ever see them up close.
Being accustomed to tornadoes doesn't make them any less destructive if they hit built up areas.
Yes in Nebraska we get some every year but normally not this large or this many in such a short time. The title is wrong as far as Ik no one has died or even been severely wounded because we train our citizens well. Pretty sure both the storm chaser and the semi driver don't live here
@tst1200 yeah you're correct, the 4 dead are from Oklahoma, no one from Nebraska has been reported dead
they're not usually this big or go on this long
monkaW omg
No one died. Whoever did the clickbait tirle didn't actually do any fact-checking. Also, judging by the accents, it was not even in Nebraska.
Please tell me what a nebraskan accent is cus I hear all shorts of Accents over here.😂
Every clip you see here took place in or around Elkhorn, NE. I know because *I was watching it happen.*
Those new plastic houses just don’t seem to be strong enough.
Plastic houses? WTF are you talking about? Most of the houses in this video are 100 year old farm houses. The newer ones aren’t plastic either. Just stop talking.
Must be that chyna mining
A look back: The Omaha riots of the 1960's.
The aftermath looks like the Gaza Strip.
people need to stop buiding and developing in the plains states. those states are for growing crops. not living (and one winter there would tell you that). Tornadoes have been prevalent there for eons. I do not think there is an increase in storms, there is just an increase in people and effect.
Pray without ceasing. 1THESSALONIANS 5:17
Ur crazy
Stop screaming your head off. Just talk at a reasonable level.
Thanks Karen. Folks can talk how they choose.
Stop commenting. See, I can tell you to stop doing things as well.
😮😮😮😮😮😮
Wow Gods fury, shows how we are under his control at any time
Nah, it's because of the rocky mountains, Gulf of Mexico, and Canadian air. All that mixture of heat, cold, dry air, and humid air can make some serious storms.
Sačuvaj Bože!!
南無阿彌陀佛~
Well, then, the RAIN SEEDING needs to STOP ! Look what happened in Dubai !!!!!
Same troll bot copy and paste comment here.
lmao
They were injured, not wounded. This was a tornado, not a war.
Exactly. if it was a war our politicians would actually care.
@@GeneJohnson-vy2ci I see it now. $500 billion tornado relief bill in congress with $3 billion for tornado relief and $497 billion for the green new deal.
@@danielanderson4428Yeah, sure. If this was Ukraine they would have gotten the money.
These are God’s weapons of mass destructions.
Nope, just weather.
