The kids did do great! Unfortunately it’s pretty hard to tell when a sealed unit bearing is going to let go.
On your brake problem, If you have sliding type calipers, check to see if they're making contact on full lock. I've seen it where contact pushes piston(s) in then takes a couple of pumps to get a firm pedal.

Thanks! We appreciate it! As far as the caliper I have had this happen intermittently, when a rock hit the caliper, and we would pump it back up. But this time was different, when the wheel bearing went bad, it allowed the rotor to keep pushing the pads back in constantly.

A thought for you, not critical at all. In Australia and Europe it is more common to say “right hand down” or “left hand down”. I think combined with “stick right/left” for the rear steer, it might make it a little less confusing on the driver to take direction. In our family we have switched to right/left hand down and it makes it a lot better IMHO. Anyway, as we said in the Army “it’s A way”. Food for thought.

Thanks for watching and for the comment! When I set up the rear steer I placed the stick so they would just have to push it to the driver or passenger side. When I tried right or left, it seems to confuse them. Most of the time they get it right, but once in a while they get it backwards.

A few of my wheelin' buddies have run this trail and keep trying to push me to run it my CJ, which I've been very hesitant to do. They tell me it isn't that bad. I'm callin' B.S.! It's been probably 3 years since they've seen it, and I'm gonna say it has become even more challenging. I'm gonna remove it from my bucket list. 😂
This trail definitely gets worse each year, especially the first three obstacles! But even every other obstacle has got more dug out!

are you happy with those tires or would you consider going back to reds?
On the rear steer car I am going back to reds. I will say the nittos are tough and they wear slower. But it’s just a little less traction, that matters on a few obstacles. To be fair, the nittos are designed to be a heavy race car tire, and that’s what they are really good at.
