- This new Fender Vintera II Mustang has certainly left its mark on me! Huge character, big tone, and bold color. This guitar truly pays its respects to the 70's with looks, feel, and tone. I brought this into the studio the other day and the sound engineer was literally drooling at the mouth over the clean tone. This thing really sings! Would you play this guitar?! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!! Signal chain: Kemper (twin reverb model) + my pedalboard!

I'd like to add there aren't 2 out of phase sounds. There's only 1. There are two ways to get it; switches towards one another or away from one another.
Came here to say this. Glad to see someone else was right on it. 😆
@@raybbaby The Mustang seems to be the must misunderstood of the offsets.
such a cool guitar, good job Fender. That out of phase sound is crazy. Nice playing btw
❤
Your playing is the star of the show here! Great demo of the guitar too ofc 🥳
Awh thanks so much!!
Oh no, another GAS attack! Fantastic guitar, fantastic playing 👍
Awesome review! I really like this guitar!
Its such a fun piece to play!!
Awesome playing dude 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks bro!!
There's only really 5 options, even though there are 9 switch positions.
Just neck
Just bridge
Neck and bridge in phase (both switches either up or down)
Neck and bridge out of phase (both switches opposite directions)
Off - both switches in the middle
Great guitar
They got the shape of the control plate right!
What? It's never changed
@@RUBBERTANK_3 it has. Compare Vintera I and Vintera II
there is post on offsetguitars that shows the difference.
I just got a new Squier Cabronita Paranormal and in my excitement and haste to open it, I cut in to the body. So choked. this Mustang is awesome. I have a major thing for orange guitars. I don't know why.
I was worried about the vintage neck radius not allowing for even subtle bending, but you proved that wrong. 😂😂
Awesome demo, Nick! Definitely looking into getting a Mustang soon. Love your playing, man!
Oh you can BENDY BEND on this thing!! Give it a whirl if you can find one at your local shop - def more of a niche guitar but a really cool option for when you need those classic tones!
I dunno who came up with that bullshit and perpetuated it. But you have ppl who've never touched a 7 inch radius neck say that they need it flatter so their bends don't choke out
Yup my 👂's don't lie sounds like a 70's stang 🤘 My dear kind brother bought me the Jaguar vintage white model not a let down the series 😃 I'll definitely be saving up and getting the blue version 👍 awesome guitar! Awesome review. Keep rocking man 😎🎸👍
I love the blue one too I was so torn haha!
@@TheDonutDoctor oh yeah but you did good man. Keep rocking man
Wow! that was my first fender same color and everything.
No way thats awesome haha!!
Awesome guitar. Neck pickup on its own: 1986 called me wants it's ballad back. The bridge pickup wants it's rainy at break-up song back too. Both pickups is my favorite low key comedy drama after school sitcom.
Seriously though, awesome demo. I loved it. Giving a new sub!!
haha i love these descriptions SO accurate 😂
@@TheDonutDoctor 🤣
They've never called to me, but that one is good looking.
That's the Curt Cobian guitar, eh?
I feel you - this is one of those guitars I didn't know i needed until i played it. & I think Curt played a Jag if I'm not mistaken - a close relative to the mustang!
He also played Mustangs. He had a blue competition Mustang in the Smells Like Teen Spirit video but with the matching headstock. Awesome playing btw! loved this video!@@TheDonutDoctor
I play left handed. I own two 2019 limited edition lefty mij Mustangs in both candy apple red and sonic blue and they both cost me 1200. They are very nice but I will have to sell them due to money issues. However I bought a 2022 Jagstang and they're both the same guitars. If anyone wants either one please let me know
I don't understand the difference between both switches all the way forward vs. all the way back?? Both pickups are on in both positions so what's the difference?
99% sure its the same sound, just two ways of getting there. Figured I'd be as thorough as possible with the demo haha
I love it in every way Although I think Jaguar is cooler - congratulations again - She looks and sounds great on you
Honestly I think the Jag looks grim. The mustang is a work of art.
@@buckbumble grim it's good - if its Johnny Marr grim 😉
Jag is also sweet! Tbh all the guitar from this line are pretty damn sick!!
I'm desperate to understand all these new neck profiles. How does it compare to a modern C? Is it drastically thinner?
Honestly, best thing you could do is head to a guitar center or guitar shop and try out both back to back - thats the only way to really gauge the difference. Its so hard to conceptualize the differences in your head - I play so many neck shapes all the time and still have to be holding the guitar myself to really remember how it feels lol. For what its worth, this one feels pretty good! (& I'm very picky when it comes to necks!)
@@TheDonutDoctor my guitarcenter finally got some squier 40th ann. guitars in 12 months too late. I'll be seeing vintera IIs in 2025.
Is it yellow or orange ?
So what's the difference between this and the old Vintera? Just rosewood freatboard?
Not 100% sure - I'd compare features on the fender website to see everything laid out, but i know this has updated appointments across the board!
@@TheDonutDoctor still plastic nut while Squier CV have... come on, too overpriced
Is vintera ii serie made in México???
Yes
What amp are you playing through chief
Kemper (twin reverb model) + my pedalboard!
@@TheDonutDoctor hell yeah, man. I was debating on ordering a blue jawn and your video pushed me over the edge. Gonna buss so tough when I get it.
@@shitstain001 BUSSINN
Great video. Subscribed!
You are a star!
Does anybody else recognize that the competition stripe is not accurate to the original 60’s/70’s guitars ?
I'm not a historian but this is a HOT TAKE
@@TheDonutDoctor The stripes are thicker, at a different angle, and they extend way more forward towards the neck into the “waist” of the guitar, around to wear the first slide switch is. The original versions don’t extend nearly that far forward and are at closer to a 45 degree angle, while these reissues are probably 30 degrees angle. It’s an eyesore to me, and I can’t imagine why Fender did this!!!!
@@sonicd57cry harder
@@shitstain001 I’m done crying but made a decision to not buy one. I’ll keep saving for a real vintage
@@sonicd57 shittttt. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been eyeing a vintage red competition. Sorry to be a dick, btw.
Clean tone?
Kurt Cobain would approve.
