ITECH 250mm Table saw unboxing assembly and review.

Review;
- Great UK dealers and helpful staffs. Felt very comfortable and guided well not pushy sales guys at all.
-Good delivery with regular updates
_Saw is well made and straight forward offering imperial and metric measurements
-perfect workable height
-options to add other parts such as the extension tables and wheel kit (highly recommended)
-Good platform for potentially upgrading Fence, extraction and possible under storage maybe a customer router table build?
-Common Saw blade size.
-SIP parts and good local support for parts and help if needed.
-warranty provided.
-S&S offer a lot of blade choices and know what to recommend.
-Motor is fully capable and nice and quiet.
-Adjustments are smooth and without any slop or backlash
few points that i felt could be improved upon;
-Instructions offered minium guidance but i didnt get stuck just needed a little bit more time to think about certain parts, E.g. the panels although it worked out fine in the end. I think just something a little bit more step by step would of been good but now you have this video! hope it helps.
-Some of the fasteners are more suited to better quality but nothing that cant be easily changed.
-Packaging of the fence (Not S&S Fault) just how it is (Can you see im clutching at straws here? )
All in all very recommended so far so good. Will be doing a 6-12month follow up video but im really pleased with the investment.

Well that was fun , i got a ITech planer for Scott&Sargent last year and what a journey that was ... hats off to Mark there and John the delivery driver when it finally turned up just before Christmas. A few tweaks and im well happy with it .
How are you finding your planer after a few months mate? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated 👍
Good video man - really appreciated the candor about the saw build, issues and features and instructions etc. I was certainly able to relate 100% due to similar experiences with other equipment. I think your review was super fair and well considered. Have now subscribed and look forward to your next content! I will certainly be taking a look at Scott and Sargeant following your endorsement.
Useful video, thanks. I recon the four screws at the back above the dust port, that you were wondering about, are for an outfeed table. The holes being there for the support brackets. You can find the outfeed accessory on SIP dealer websites.
Let us know how you get on buying blades with a 25.4mm (1”) bore, or if you’ve tried using a reducing bush (e.g. from Axminster) with the more common blades with a 30mm bore.
Just a note, the iTech 250mm saw uses a 30mm bore/arbour :-) one of the key differences between the SiP (apart from cost) :-)

Absolutely fantastic video! Even for the money that would have cost really disappointing level of final QA inspection before shipping shouldn’t be leaving swarf in any new product! And the fixings looked really really cheap , can see it’s minimise expenditure minimise quality and increase profit, would have really replaced all bolts and nuts with stainless prior to assembly would make it a lot better to assemble and strip! Keep the videos coming! Looking forward to the dust extractor!

😁 Great video 👍. Thought I would give it a quick watch for a couple of minutes.......54 minutes and 21 seconds later... I'm still watching (can I go and have a cupper now 😂🤣). Nice in depth look at this saw. I've had the same issue trying to get a new saw, there seems to be a world shortage. Hi Frank, Thanks for the comment! its a great saw and has been used a lot recently im a happy chappy. Hi mate, i purchssed the same saw a few weeks back. It didn’t come with a riving knife so i have ordered the correct one but it doesnt seem to align properly with the blade? Its to the right by like 3-4mm. Do u know how these are adjusted? Or could you show me yours in case i’m missing something? Thanks
Good video from a first time user so well done. I use a table saw daily for work. I'm currently using the Bosch Gtc10x professional in my compact workshop and its great apart from 2 things. The sliding mitre table is a must for me but there is too much play and adjusting it out is very awkward to do. The fence might be supported both ends but rarey aligns accurately which can be dangerous as well as wasteful...you need to check and adjust for each cut which is a pain
Time has come to replace it but without losing its features. Its the most flexible and useful of the prosumer table saws along with the dewalt.
Would the Itec saw fit into a 6 by 4 space which is the area I have reserved in my workshop?
I have shortlisted it and maybe even the dewalt 10 inch saw which has an excellent fence....but just a mitre slot rather than sliding portion.
The only other on my radar is festools 10 inch portable saw table. Be interested in how you get on with the itec....get that dust extraction going...it's a must!

Did the tape measure on the fence rails come preinstalled? If I never intend to cut on the left of the blade could I install the rails further to the right to increase the rip capacity?

HI James - great video! I bought the same saw and have a couple of questions you might know the answer to:
1. they shaped bracket with the semicircles cut out that you couldn't find where they went - I cant either - Did you ever fond out?
2. The 4 holes in the cabinet you mentioned - again I don't know what they are for either.... any suggestions?
I bought the sliding table as well - jury is not on that although the instructions were better ( wouldbnt be difficult as Itech's are just plain crap - had to resort to the parts diagram as well to build the saw).
Any help would be most welcome

1A- it’s more the wheel kit the bracket sits on the wall and the wheeled mover places on that cradle.
2A. Not sure after a while I just assumed it was for the sliding table.

Hi James! Just got the 01446 one, but just a quick question buddy, did you get an attachment for the oval extraction bit too attach the extractor hose to..? Because I've got the machine and there's no attachment, is just a hose that it seems is goana connect to an oval hole....?" Is yours the same?

What I was trying to say was , I got the iTech 01446, and done it all up today, but when I went to attach the extraction hose inside to the blade bit, I realised the hole was oval, not round! So I was like.... Surely there should be some sort of kit where you can attach to the round hose and then attach it to the blade housing.... But there's no oval connector kit delivered with this, where you connect the round hose to it and then to the blade housingso.... I hope it made more sense now
@@MR-cg9lw ah! Yes it is oval the pipe it comes with just forms round it so it covers more blade area….it lost be a little too
Thanks, I thought there will be some sort of oval kit, but if you say the hose goes directly onto the oval rim , then I will attach it directly onto the oval bit... Thanks allot mate 🙏 good luck and happy wood cutting😉
Hi James, great video I just wish I had watched it before I put it together! I am putting the extensions on the sides and find that they do not run in line with the main bed. Did you find that the extension for the table sagged at either end slightly?
Hi Nicky, thanks for the message. Mine were the same. It’s not a massive problem put the front edge should be as close as possible. As it isn’t massively critical for the back of the blade zone to be plum as the sheet stock has already been cut. Straight edge and a straight level came in handy for me.

Can you put both extension tables onto the same side of the saw? So you double the working area on the right?
The holes do align so yes, I don’t see why not maybe I’d be worried about the overhanging weight. Perhaps for a support table a mdf base may be a better option? Thanks for the comment. ⚓️
@@AnchorDesigns Thanks Jim - one other question if you don't mind. It's not clear in the video, you just indicated at the plugs and said you'd checked the wiring - did you put a standard 3-pin plug on it and run it off the normal ring? I know the specs say it needs a 16a supply, but many people say it runs fine from a normal 13a one.
(Edit - looking back at the vid I've just noticed you have 16a sockets next to the 13a ones - possibly bit of a silly question :)
@@Steve_1401 I went straight for the 16amp supply (I also have the intech bandsaw and that is also 16amp) works fine

Feels like these cheap, Chinese made machines are really cornering the market now with their prices. Not everyone has money to buy British made, properly quality controlled machines. Makes me nervous for when I take the plunge. Hopefully it serves you well though and makes you some money back.
Whoa thats me put off iTec for life, how on earth can something be delivered needing assembly with no instructions, thats terrible.
