Sad that the typical mobile phone reviewers have been brainwashed by Samsung's overly processed photos, having no idea how an actual realistic photo is supposed to look like. Sony Phones are really for Enthusiasts and Artists. That's why Tech CZcamsrs don't understand Sony phones' full potential, with their superficial knowledge. Sony is the only Hardware company, who is also the Creator/Producer of artistic content(Sony pictures for Movies, Sony Music Entertainment for Music, Sony Interactive entertainment for Video Games) They understand artists like no other tech company. That's why those reviewers think that an oversaturated picture is better than a neutral picture, or that Bass-Boosted speakers are superior to balanced speakers.

    • @blurry_eyes
      @blurry_eyes Před 2 lety +4

      This is exactly why I ordered one. Even though the MKBHD review was mediocre at best, it completely missed the point of the phone. It's all about creative control, I don't want to have the phone guess what I want out of a picture of video, I want to be the one controlling how it comes out from the moment that is being framed on the screen.
      Having full manual exposure controls, a dedicated shutter button with focus half press and expandable storage make this basically a camera that can make phone calls and install apps, I really dig it.

    • @nirv
      @nirv Před 2 lety +2

      How hard would it be to make a full guide? There aren't all that many options even in manual mode. I went outside today and used full manual on my Xperia 1 III for the first time and it wasn't rocket surgery. I would like to learn more, however - but it really isn't all that complex.
      This isn't building a MAME cabinet using an OLED monitor with G-Sync and having to set up each game in GroovyMame or something like that. It's just a camera with some options.

    • @CassidyOG
      @CassidyOG Před 2 lety +2

      @@blurry_eyes No one's denying that this phone gives you control. HOWEVER, you're missing the point here. With this fantastic camera hardware, why doesn't the phone have a usable auto mode? The auto mode photos that this phone produces are not on par with the competition. There are situations when you don't have time to tune manually and want a quick snapshot with ensured decent quality. This phone isn't capable of that and it is a big minus. You have to be a hardcore fanboy not to see this as a detriment.

    After having and using the SONY Xperia 1 mark ii for almost a year now I can say that the camera system is as good as any other. It's just different. And in my opinion that is it's strong point. That it's not like using an iphone. It is a lot more like using an actual camera. Thus there is a learning curve, and you need to be willing to figure it out. But it sure is fun and allows for more creativity. If what you want are very saturated pictures and you want the phone to do all the work for you then I would say that the Xperia is not for you. Better to stick with an iphone or Galaxy. But if you want a much more natural, and accurate camera like experience where pictures look more like what your eye actually sees (I personally really dislike the way the Galaxy tries to make night shots look like daylight. Gives it an artificial look) that allows for more creativity and actually makes you want to go outside and take pictures......then the Xperia just might be for you.
    I would always use the comparison between an automatic luxuary sedan vs a manual sports car. They are totally different experiences. An iphone or Galaxy are like automatic sedans. They are comfortable, convenient, and will do most of what you need to be done without requiring too much from you. The Xperia is a lot more like a manual sports car. It's more tricky to drive and you have to learn how to drive it by comparison. But it's also a lot more fun, with a closer to reality feel, and you can push it waaay more.

Even though the production in this video is obviously professional and probably endorsed by Sony, I can definitely see that these results are possible in reality too, as I've gotten similar results when traveling to Berlin last year, even in low-light conditions.     Hi Kohki! This is a superb video. I'm looking to get a new camera-focused smartphone for three reasons;
    1.) To replace my Canon DSLR when on holidays (I'm not as active taking photos now as I was when I first got it, and lugging the DSLR around + all the equipment I have is pretty cumbersome).
    2.) To do some vlogging.
    3.) And also as an additional video camera for the car videos I make (I already have a Sony RX100M2 for this).
    My primary choice is the Xperia 1 III as I have a soft spot for Sony smartphones, would you recommend it?

    In other review videos, praising Sony will get you "Sony Fanboy" or "Sheeple" title even though you're trying to look what features that Sony excels in and other big brand phones excels at, seems like Sony has the unfortunate luck of being the "loser" in the smartphone world and not allowed to be the best at anything :)
    Reading the comments here feels like an oasis.

  • @Kalinforrinco

    Excellent video, I loved it. Your shots are amazing and you really made an excellent job walking viewers through your photography. And the Xperia 1 III truly has an amazing camera, Sony did an excellent job with it. Too bad some of the people commenting felt it was necessary to be jerks, talking against Samsung’s cameras (which are great on their own and better than the Xperia Mark 1 III’s in some aspects) without reason.
