  • This PDC 18/4 drill is my first ever battery operated festool tool, I actually won it back in 2015 or 2016 I believe and have used it as my primary drill ever since, doing everything from light driving to 6” hole saws, mixing many many buckets of thin set and drywall compound etc…. This thing is a workhorse!

    Great to see a tool review channel that showcases tools that are actually used! Not many “tool review,” channels on CZcams actually use the tools they review!

    Best drill I own and I still have my wrist! So much power, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE !!Festool made this thing indestructible!!! Not a light drill in weight or size plus IT JUST WORKS!!!! Good review-I love my Festool tools.

      You just can’t kill this thing! It almost kept me from ever buying the MX for thinset but I’m glad I did, that’s a great tool as well.

    Your videos have a funny way of making me need stuff I didn't need prior to watching your videos 😉 Great vid!

    The first thing I noticed was that good looking chuck : )
    It's worth mentioning that 1/4" hex bits can be used without the chuck directly on the tool or the right angle adapter for extra tight quarters.
    This was my only drill-driver for a few years until I splurged on the impact driver. Works for everything... although the percussion feature has been a little quirky for anything other than small Tapcons.

      This is true! Especially when using the right angle, sometimes every little bit can make a difference in a cramped spot

    Totally agree. Mine has been abused more than yours I think...
    Have had it for about 9 years now, only thing that failed was the left/right switch 2 years ago.

    Festool do make some really great power tools, I just can't justify purchasing them for the amount of work I would have. Looks like this is circa twice the price of the mainline Makita / Dewalt / Milwaukee units in the UK.

  • @thegloriousretardmagnet4257

    It's a good drill, but I sold mine almost new because it was the wrong tool for me :/. Was too big and heavy for regular cabinet making. I only occasionally needed much power, let alone 4 speeds. Thats why I got the Mafell A18 instead, wich is made by metabo. much lighter and significantly smaller. Actually also has a bit more power but its also a much newer model. Perfect for me

    When the 110v Milwaukee joist drill locks midway though a 4” hole and won’t pull back in reverse!! Out comes the cordless beast!! (Note to newbies use the side grip on speed 1 or book yourself a week in a&e for your broken wrist 😉

    Have you ever regreased it? I've had a milwuakee 12v impact for years now. I took the gear-box apart, cleaned and regreased it. It made a world of a difference and i wish i had done it sooner. I'd highly recommend if you're comfortable taking it apart and getting it back together right, haha.
    New grease will make it purr! I used lucas oil white lithium grease.
    Great video!

    How big of a difference performance wise between Milwaukee brushless and Festool?

    • @carbb5760
      @carbb5760 Před 2 lety

      The Milwaukee outperforms it in terms of torque and power. This thing shines in precision and ergonomics. The festool also has the edge in durability imo

      £400-£550 uk depends what battery options you go for worth the beer tokens though at least twice the drill over others this will tick 90% of your needs! Very versatile tool!! 👍

    • @MillisConstruction
      @MillisConstruction  Před 2 lety

      There are a couple links in the description here to it, there are several kit versions etc, basic just drill I believe is around $300 and a full kit goes up from there depending on how many batteries, attachments etc
