Siemens | How to Control a VFD with a PLC in Minutes | EandM

- See how to control a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) from a PLC!
Traditionally you would use the tiny buttons on the drive to commission it or use a separate Drives Commissioning tool.
With Siemens - it’s all integrated into one single package….Drives, PLC, HMI and networking.
No communication protocols to set up, no mapping, no hardwired analog signals…and built in diagnostics is included in simple English text.
The result is that you can set-up and test your project in minutes rather than days.

I need some help about vfd atv 61???
brother can u provide this drive
Sir please help me sample project source files 🙏for practice
What if there where two drives ?, How is the function block pointing to the particular drive connected ?,
S7 PLC inputs IW256 and IW258 receive 'Status word 1' (ZSW1) and Speed Actual from the first G120 drive and S7 PLC sends 'Control word 1' (STW1) and Speed Reference from QW256 and QW258 to the first G120 respectively.
A second G120 drive on the same PROFINET network would need to use different input addresses (e.g. IW260 and IW262) and output addresses (e.g. QW260 and QW262) of the same S7 PLC.
The PROFINET telegram used in this example only sends and receives 2 words each way.
Hope this helps you 6 months on.
Can you simulate the VFD? I mean without the hardware
I was searching for this for long time did you find any method to simulate with h/w
So i walked through the entire Siemens support site and could not locate this block. Did you make the block yourself from the V13.1 sample program and then save it to your global library? its hard to reproduce this exaxtly with out the block referenced in your video, Would you please include a link in the description to the correct support forum with the FC you used? Thanks
Please send us an email to support@eandm.com and we'll send you the block and library.
