    Corrections:
    Technically, when discarding item cards, they should go on the bottom of the deck, not in a facedown discard pile. It's effectively the same thing, but just figured I'd cover my bases.
    Location 016 on the Surface map is technically on the surface, despite being connected to underground, so I should've placed a surface exploration token instead of a regular one.

  • @CrazyBunnyGuy
    @CrazyBunnyGuy Před 2 lety +2

    Played so far 4 full coops (still learning the game) and I love it so much. My only gripe is with the coop objectives which are unclear to say the least. In the end, to save us the trouble of googling stuff while playing we decided to adopt our version of the truth until something official is written by the designers. For example, "Finish the game with intruder carcass". The overarching theme of the full coop is that the "team" gets their objectives which are communal. The only CLEAR explanation is with regards to the signal and how many times it needs to be sent and that it doesn't matter who sent it even if they die it still counts. Everything else is open for interpretation. Do all surviving characters have to finish the game with the carcass? Or anyone (since it's a GROUP effort, why does everyone have to carry a corpse around, one surely should suffice). Then you have objectives such as "EACH character must have knowledge of 5" (or something like that). Okay, each, but what about dead ones? There are some who believe that even dead ones count for this objective.
    In any case, I find the game challenging enough so we house ruled it to what seemed logical and thematic. ;) Last game we played was so amazing it almost was as if watching a move happening in front of us on the game board.

      @RTFM  Před 2 lety +4

      Ooh, that's a tough one. I do think Lockdown is a little more complex than the original, but I also enjoy it more of the two. If you aren't worried about the slightly higher learning curve, I'd go with Lockdown.

  • @MrPlantita
    @MrPlantita Před 2 lety +1

    Hi! Great video and great explanation! I was wondering if you could help my group and me with one question:
    What is the difference between the "Intruder Event Cards" and "Night Stalker Event Cards"? Which card are you supposed to look at during the Event Phase #9, which during the intruder retreat action?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 2 lety +2

      So the night stalkers are a specific type of intruder. Different types of intruders (Chytrids, Void Seeders, etc) use different decks of event and attack cards, which you'll find during set up. "Intruder event card" is just a generic way of referring to an event card from whatever deck you're using for this game.

  • @BushidoBlues

    Hey @RTFM! Excellent video, but there is one small correction at 13:23. The Backup Power Supply will always reset the power to {1} and {2} regardless of how many locations are powered. For example, if there is power on {2}, {3}. and {4} and a player uses the Backup Power Supply, only {1} and {2} will be powered by the end of the action. I like to think of it as forgoing the main power in favor of a backup generator, which has limited but more reliable 'power' available.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 3 měsíci

      If you look at the backup power supply section on page 29, under reset the power, it says you skip it if you have 3 or more powered sections already.

    @russ8232 Před 2 lety

    Fantastic explanation! One question... at 30:47, for full coop, aren't the objective cards in a community pool instead of individually assigned? The examples in the rules (page 30) seem to suggest they're part of a pool... that any player can reach knowledge 8 if it's one of the objectives, and (any) 2 players need to send the signal if it's on 2 objective cards, as opposed to just... each player must fulfill their given objective card. I'm hoping they're part of a pool since it seems to be more in line with a fully cooperative mode.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 2 lety

      You have it right, the cards are part of a pool. What I'm saying at that point is that you draw the same amount of cards as you have players. Specific players don't need to complete specific missions.

    Awesome Video. One small thing: If you perform a search action you put the item you did not pick under it's deck (sadly the rulebook uses the term "discard" for that, which could make you believe it lands on the discard pile - it doesn't - only used or dropped items get there)

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 2 lety

      Oh, yeah. I always forget that rule. Even in the original Nemesis I would just make a discard pile. I'll add a note, thanks.

    • @Matrium0
      @Matrium0 Před 2 lety

      @@RTFM honestly it's not that big of a deal, never reached the end of any item deck in 20+ games of Nemesis anyway, so the card is "out of the game" either way. You could, in theory, gain some knowledge the others don't have (you now know a card that's out of the game), but it's super unlikely that this would ever have a real impact imo

  • @Supersly666

    I have some questions about implementing Aftermath characters in Lockdown, that aren't clear in the Stretch Goal manual.
    The Bounty Hunter: Does he use his starting item (Rifle 247) in addition to his new quest item(s) (Man's Best Friend)? He clearly doesn't use his other quests, as they are closely linked with hid trait card (which he doesn't use).
    The Android: Does she use her quests from aftermath (Emergency Energy Cell & Deactivation Module)?
    The Psychologist/Convict: Do they use their OTHER quests from Aftermath (Occulobe Drone/Augmented Arm) or ONLY the ones replaced/provided with the stretch goal box (Emotional Scanner/Pipe)?
    The Medic: Does she use her old quests (Combat Drugs & Surgery Kit) in addition to the one provided with the stretch goal box (Needle Gun), or ONLY the Needle Gun from the stretch goal box?
    The Medic: Does she use her Trait card (this is the one I question the most)?
    It doesn't state this clearly anywhere, but for now I'm assuming the answer to all these questions is NO. A confirmation would be greatly appreciated though, thanks.

    • @RTFM

      Yes. Whenever they would move into an area on the Mars surface you follow the same process that happens when they go into the tech corridor. So that would mean removal from the board and their token gets put back in the bag.

    As far as I know characters from Lockdown cannot be played at the Nemesis ship, but it is possible to play nightstalkers and chytrids on previous Nemesis game?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 2 lety

      So with the Chytrids you can do this. There's a backside to their lab board and you just treat every room as being unpowered and in darkness. However, I don't think you can do the same with the Night Stalkers. I'm pretty sure they have cards and such that require the Lockdown map.

  • @wtmftproductions
    @wtmftproductions Před 2 lety +1

    So to be clear, does taking the elevator actually take you instantly to the desired elevator room? We thought the rules weren't clear. It says "take the elevator tile and the character(s) and place them NEXT to the desired elevator room, which made me think you still had to take a move action to step off the elevator and then do a noise roll. (But no noise roll for getting into the elevator.)

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 2 lety +2

      So you perform a noise roll when you move into the elevator room, but not when you use the elevator to go to a different floor. And then when you get the new floor, you exit the elevator tile as part of the room action. It is a little confusing in the rulebook. I'm pretty sure I had to double check that with the designers when I was writing the script.

    6:29 You can discard Contamination Cards when you pass? I've never played with that rule and I couldn't find permission to do it in the original rulebook, though I do see it in the new on page 22. Might want to flash up the raccoon icon when you say that part.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 2 lety +2

      I'm afraid you've been playing Nemesis wrong. The original rulebook doesn't specifically say to discard contamination cards when you pass, but it doesn't say you can't, just that they can't be used to pay for actions. If you couldn't discard them, what would happen if you get five? Eventually you would only have those in your hand and wouldn't be able to do anything else.

      The Nightstalkers are more akin to the classic intruders, you're right. That's what they're meant to be though. I now had the chance to play the first round of lockdown, and following questions came up while playing:
    Sentry Action Facility tour. It basically says move to another room you may ignore the events of the exploration token. So I do not have to place a fire/malfunction marker in the rrom? Or does it only ignore slime/silence/danger?
    An event card placed a larva on all the characters in the dark. It was not mentioned if they also get a contamination card. But I figured this would be the case, just like if a larva attacked the characters. You think that's how it was intended? And would all characters have died if they already have had a larva? I remember that I somewhere read, that a character dies as soon as he somehow gets a second larva, but I am unable to find that passage again.
    If I have a corprate mission to ensure s player does not survive. Does it count for me if this character dies because of the contingency or contaminations at the end of the game?
    If the self destruct is triggered and the base explodes. Does the nest an queen count as destroyed/killed even if they are not on the Board? And does this fullfill my mission to destroy the nest or kill the queen?
    Don't know if this is really the right place for those questions, nevertheless I hope someone can answer that :)
    Great video btw!

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  Před 2 lety

      Facility tour: ignore all exploration events, fire included.
      Larva event card: not 100% sure, but I'd read it as getting attacked by a larva, meaning you'd get a contamination, but wouldn't die if there was already a larva there. You only die from a 2nd larva if it was obtained through infection.
      Corp mission: yep, any way they die will count towards your mission.
      Self destruct: yes, this destroys the queen and her nest even if it hasn't been found.
