I would have gotten some repair panels in from ScootRS or Scooter Center which makes a resto so super smooth, the central A spine especially is where all the strength is and a twist or turn in the "spine" of the bike can be dangerous. It pays if doing either panels to weld in between the front part of the seat to the headstock area a bit of scaffold pole or something rigid so the bike doesn't bend when released from its strengthening parts. Then just grind the pole's welds off and flatten down once the new panels are in place :) For the tunnel area I would suggest spraying with galvanising paint then treated to yearly rust treatments, the little pocket in the tank area behind the rear shock mount is another breeding place for rust. The legshields and floor panels are only held in with spot welds, very easy to remove.

@ 4:49 "Sandblasting too slow" ???? Not if you have a powerful enough sandblasting outfit. I refurbished an old oil burner / furnace using a sandblaster. But thanks for posting.
