I Inspected X Patterns found on Google Earth

  • An unusual series of shapes caught my eye while exploring the desert on Google Earth. I decided to go check out this landscape, and inspect these shapes from above using my drone.
These designs were located on the side of a river bend, indicating a really interesting erosional pattern that lead to some very unusual geology.
In the process of exploring this place, I ended up finding some pretty interesting remnants and ruins of human history that points to a now- derelict industry, most likely from uranium mining.
Hope you enjoyed this video, although it is a bit simpler than I would prefer. I am in the process of mapping out the next series of Google Earth explorations and videos into that should leave you all speechless.
Please Like and Subscribe to The_POV_Channel for more videos like this. Thanks so much for watching!

Your content has a perfect ratio of your POV ,Dronework & most importantly your awesome dog.
As am sure you're aware there are a few channels doing what you do,each of you have your merits, but you win every time, not just for your choice of landscape to explore, but, including your dog is fantastic & I think I've said before, have grown up in desert/rugged terrain, some of my best solo tracks were with my dog ( a yellow Labrador) as my tracking/trekking companion.
Your wonderful vids really do ring back very happy memories - Google Earth, Strat of Hormuz, Oman) and though its much more sophisticated now,its still one of the least disturbed places on Earth.
Thank you, looking forward to your next alert: very best wishes to you&yours👋⭐️💯✌️

Similar shapes can be found northwest of Moab, Utah. Some people called them "petrified sand dunes" but they are actually just sedimentary stone eroded down in cone-shaped lumps that reveal many strata in any one such knob. Great fun to ride on a trials motorcycle, going slow, doing no visible damage.

Really feels like you’re there experiencing it. But the walking footage is so great too bc frequently when I’m watching these it’s so hard to tell the scale of everything, and then when we see you climbing something it becomes evident just how huge it is! The GoodYear Hard Rock Lug tire that you found is used primarily for rock excavating, mining and Quarrying. It provides premium performance in harsh underfoot conditions.... They must have been quarrying and excavating out there. I noticed some patterns in those rock structures that look like quarry/excavation marks. Makes sense. Hey thanks for sharing the Tire find. Drone footage is great. But ultimately it is always the personality that make us stick to a channel. In a outdoor videos the core point, in my view, is the persons interaction with the landscape. Knowing the land, knowing the rules, old and new, and applying them with respect for the incredible places.
In Your case curiosity and exploration are center motives. It is Your emotions, Your drive to explore, Your reactions to the things You find, that give the places meaning. It makes a often barren landscape full of wonders. Your undramatic personality is very fitting for the grand scales, and makes it all the better. Your dogs personality underlines all of the above, seemingly having a drive to explore himself, being very lively, but at least on camera, always rather calm. I guess he trusts You a lot.
So try to stick to presenting does strong points, and You will have a unique selling points.
Back to the drone footage, the wind sounds are great, but if You do more and longer sequences, more variations would be good. So maybe You could make field recordings of sounds, slowly build up a library and than see what fits for a place. But that is only my impression, it is easily possible, that I watched to many of Your videos in a short time.

Don’t fret it. You realize, the Ancients could not even built or hole out these dwellings in the cliffs under our strict environmental laws. We are not even allowed to pick up a stone or pick a flower. Nature is doing an incredible job of destroying and building on this earth. ❤ your beautiful mind and words of encouragement. Keep on trekking.

Absolutely wonderful!!! I love seeing these places from your perspective on the ground AND the bird's eye view from the drone...and I also love the birdsong that is in the videos! I assume you add this?? Are these birds native to your area?

I like the drone shots and you walking and talking about the land. Your dog reminds me of mine when he stops to see if you are coming.

Yes sir Nolan i love the drone footage it makes me feel like im a bird just gliding through the sky, and the best of your drone footage is when there is thunder in the background instead of unwanted music

I enjoy your videos and the drone footage. You are helping me see things I wouldn't have . That area of the country preserves both geological and human history in astounding detail. I will probably never see these areas for myself . Very much appreciated.

It is amazing to see such obvious examples of water erosion in such a barren landscape, especially on such a gigantic scale.

That was wonderful!! I like both drone and on foot exploring. The drone is great for covering a large area quickly and also places unsafe to get to on foot. I wonder what caused the swirling rock formations and those holes that you climbed into. Love your videos! Stay safe and blessings bro

I personally really like the on the ground footage of you walking around the landscape showing us what you see. The drone footage is amazing too, I feel like a 50/50 blend of the two like you are currently doing really helps each location stand out.
