How to remove a motorcyclist helmet safely

Do NOT remove a motorcyclist’s helmet until they are examined by a doctor or E.M.S.
A full-faced helmet should only be removed if the injured rider is not able to breathe and the helmet is preventing access to the airway.
In all other circumstances the helmet should remain in place with chin strap undone as it provides excellent support for the delicate cervical vertebrae. Monitor the casualty’s breathing closely and be ready to remove if airway or breathing are compromised.

The person with the hand on the back of the head should slide that hand WITH the helmet as it is being removed, never losing contact with the helmet. The person removing the helmet should let the person holding the head know when the helmet is coming off so the person holding the head is prepared to take the weight. It is extremely difficult to effectively keep the head stable with a hand at the back of the neck, as shown. The arm holding the head should be braced on the floor. Very few people carry a C-Collar on their bikes (I do, but I am an AEMT and teach Bystander Assistance for motorcycle trauma) so you need to fill the void with a jacket, vest or something that can fit under the head without lifting it. Thankyou for that but at 2:21 it looks hard to believe that the first rescuer is holding the full weight of the casualty.
How can he be holding the full weight of his head that way?

average mature male head is around 6kg. its not that heavy to not hold it this way. to comparison, its almost the same weight as bowling ball, which i suppose is pretty holdable this way for everybody.
