The Future Face of the Franchise? - MLB The Show 24 Franchise (Year 2) Ep.13

- Today we begin the MLB The Show 24 Franchise with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are far from being one of the weakest teams in baseball, but they do have one of the most uncertain future. This is an experienced team and one of the oldest in the MLB. Every starting pitcher is at least 32 years old. The best two position players have over 10 years experience. The Cardinals will have to rebuild this organization regardless of their success in the near future. I'm excited to work on restoring this franchise to a championship standard that they have not seen in the last decade.
On my MrHurriicaneLP channel I make sports gaming lets play series. My series focus on building teams and players from sports like baseball and football. I play games such as Madden 24, NCAA Football 14, MLB The Show 24 and more.

Easily the best franchiser on CZcams. Cane consistently emphasizes realism into every decision he makes. He does great storytelling and makes you root for his team. Always a good day when you see cardinals franchise on your feed. (Coming from a cubs fan)
His commentary for big moments is also fantastic. It's honestly better than some actual sports commentators
My brother in law just had a cardinals scout come watch him at his game yesterday. He's an outfielder but he was pitching and threw a no hitter.
that’s great stuff hope he does well in the future
Cap
👏👏👏
No doubt. Good luck 🙏🏾
I am her brother in law. I threw the no hitter with a hand tied behind my back. Eyes closed. I don't even pitch. I'm an outfielder. The game is just too easy. I was looking for Cane inbetween innings but never spotted him. Guess I'm not good enough to be scouted by him yet. Next game I'm going to DH without a bat.
Derrick McCormick would be an elite CF if the speed and fielding potential can be close to 90. If he gets on, you'll have a solid lead off option
I’ve been waiting since birth for this drop
Really good episode. When vibes/trends are poor, it makes sense to move faster and just play a potentially pivotal game in turning things around. As long as the team is leading and playing hot, it makes sense to go slower and bask in some star performances from key players.
Is Norris Sullivan this year's Luis Estrella?
We shall find out!
I enjoy the month pace I think you covered it well and it’s good so that there can be more seasons long term for players you drafted and seeing how there careers play out before the long term simulation
David Chung looks like he could be the perfect leadoff hitter. High on base skills, a little bit of power and speed. And the potential is insanely high
39:45 for whatever reason, ratings gains/losses display differently when you're selecting a lineup for a specific gain, as opposed to what they look like normally/everywhere else. My first guess was that it was related to the coaching staff, but I couldn't determine any direct correlation during my own franchises. Whatever the cause, I wouldn't trust those numbers without first double checking them elsewhere.
Hey Cane when you’re trying to discover I’ve found that I get the most results (maybe even the better results) when discovering international, found 2 top 10 talents in one draft out of international
Cane be careful, there’s a franchise glitch where Corbin burnes gets duplicated multiple times. Not sure it’ll happen since he’s on your team but there’s no fix right no.
Experienced it and pretty much ruined my franchise. Can’t even play anymore or advance in the season and I’m already a year and a half in so don’t want to restart. Just gonna try and wait it out for a patch
For Sullivan, you might want to check his potential. From what I found, that number associated is basically the player’s ceiling and they rarely go above that unless the potential goes up. So since he’s a 71, if his potential is 71, it’s likely his overall will basically remain the same (some attributes will still fluctuate) unless potential raises with really good play
David Chung feels like David Geronimo from the Rockies series with a better arm.. I like it
I’ve loved finding your series, it seems everyone is doing “last teams” like White Sox etc. But forget about the teams who seem to be lost in identity like the Angels, Cards, Nationals etc. So I’m loving what you’re doing! I brought in Michael Kopech in my own campaign and he’s doing well… I wonder why sim differs so much?
Seeing these scouting results makes me think you need better scouts, the ratings are not matching the overall potential. Try getting high efficiancy scouts with 90+ in either postion player or pitcher. Minimum would be 85 in any of those 3, but you have to have high efficiancy and one of the two main stats.
Let’s do a Closer Swap like the Brewers tried
Sullivan has the Babe Ruth running animation. Yes, Babe actually ran that way. How he never realized he could take bigger strides his entire life is a mystery, much like his listed weight being just 215.
Good episode. I like the faster pace.
Really liked the pace of this episode. Gave us a lot of information about how the season is going without taking too much time
i love how you build storylines and stay give realistic updates on the team, the league, and the prospects. i think this early on a slightly higher emphasis on the draft and prospects is good because it allows us to meet/track the future starts for like season 4+
I really like Marino. His bat should be high level and his defensive abilities could make him far more useful than just a first baseman.
I think Burnes had back to back complete game shutouts! That is great, I don't remember Joe Michael ever doing that
i loved the team’s performance, even with arenado being out and our offense taking a hit. edman’s still a positive WAR player even with his low offense this year, but i think that he would be better suited back in the outfield. i love the fielding development from this team as well, kinda crazy. i think our top 3-4 pitching prospects all are within a year or two from the bigs which is very exciting. loved the time covered in the series as well. would love for you to take us up roughly to draft day in the next episode if at all possible
Good pace. Don't miss watching more games b4 the team is truly yours.
NEED some Bullpen trades either way!
Bro, my step dad and I have been watching 2006-2019 cardinals highlights at night. We need a winner lmao.
Gotta see what Frank East is but as of now if you got chung and Padilla with 14 and either 52 or 89 you could set your outfield up for the future with just one draft they look promising
When you view attributes from the player lock/pre-game lineup screen it factors your coaching attribute boosts into the totals
I noticed non-simmed stats can get wiped from a game if I make a substition in quick sim mode. Something like that. A glitch that hasn't been fixed for at least a few versions of the game.
Hey man you are doing really good stuff
Love the pacing this episode
The FIPs would suggest some serious regression soon. See if you can move some of these older guys for some prospects before they come back to earth.
Pace was great! Thanks for the content cane
Highlight of my day seeing a new upload for the last 10 years lol
Just played the Cardinals for the first time the y Swept the series rallying in the 9th down 2 plus runs twice😅 my poor tigers 💀
What ever your plan is with this team, I can promise you it’s better than what the current front office is doing
Garcia is likely high on your board due to his great potential range. i’ve found the show really prioritizes that for prospect rankings
Also why Taveras is ranked 141 despite good rankings on paper. his potential is only 52-75
Still sticking with my pick for Darrel Marino. His bat looks to be pure
He is a generational player guaranteed!
Cane, serious question, how difficult would it be to put out one episode a week in both series, but just make them really long? Two total weeks (episodes)gets us through the regular season for both Cards and Raiders. Third week is playoff run, off-season, and pre-seasons
Kloffenstein is a starter BTW… not sure why he’s in the game as a relief pitcher
Can we get Won-Bin Cho to the bog leagues in the future? Legendary name
Should consider trade offers for helsley
Please draft Cameron I want a defense first shortstop in the lineup like Ozzie Smiths successor
🔥🔥
you should trade for mason miller or colton cowser. both are some cool franchise players who could be interesting trade acquisitions
Lets go 50min of content
Would love to see a Benny Matsumoto player lock!!!
I think loperfido should be starting at 2nd, whit is struggling too much to deserve that spot
Woo! I hope Walker can become the face in real life as well!
I think the new pacing is greatl
You should download their minor league stadiums and spring training park from the vault! It’s be cool
Talking about going faster through the season, at the moment I'd question if you are going fast enough. 4 episodes into season 2 and not even close to the all star break yet.
Might just be a hunch but I’m thinking Marino could be generational at 1B
Valeu!
Thank you so much!
yessir!!
You ever try OOTP?
I went to school with marco Gonzales brother
Forreal tho, look into that 1B prospect Darrell Marino. I think he might be a generational player like 80 Ovr +
He’s def not generational but should be in consideration if he’s there at 15.
@@hundoH you don’t think? I feel anyone around 80 is someone who can attribute within a year
@@ProfDeepCheeks i don’t get the question but i can guarantee he’s not generational
@@hundoH it was more of a statement, I feel a draft pick with an 80Ovr is a player who can help the team win pretty early. Do you not agree?
@@ProfDeepCheeks i agree but i doubt he’s an 80 out the bat
I tried to do a franchise I got fired after 2years 😂
Chop chop
Kenny cameron is just another Mason wynn for you so why wasted the draft pick for someone who has the exact skill set
Mom sister it’s a new hurricane video I’m sending link
If you change Michael Kopech to a SP then I’m pretty sure his Ovr will go up
Isn’t that ss Levi just mason wynn #2
Without the same high ceiling, basically. Always good to develop some defensive specialists.
@@MrHurriicaneLP I didn’t think about it that 😅
It's moreno or bust
Look for Yusniel Cruz
You should be realistic with your team. Its a team that will win around 70-75 games even with Arrenado. You should trade him, Contreras, Helsley, and Gray if you can get good young players or prospects for them. Maximize your opportunity to inject more talent into the roster.
