Great video! Coach Torvik, looking from the hip joint up, are the movements, coordination & timing of the upper body, including the hands, fairly similar in V2 (gear 3) to double poling? Could you make a video comparing the similarities and pointing out the differences, if any? Thanks.

Excellent. Thank you very much. I started experimenting with this already. One observation that I have had is that if I relax my torso as it falls on the poles I end up with a better and more efficient force production. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks for your comment, Tyler! I agree to a point, but for me, it is more to built-up tension by eccentric breaking up the movement, preparing, before the arm stroke. It is not totally relaxed.

Hello Torvik, question about width of pole plant relative to shoulders. Many World Cup athletes pole between elbow and shoulder (front view) potentially wider when sprinting double time (more upper back abduction?).
For double pole what evidence is there that proves, elbow/shoulder midpoint is more mechanically efficient than poles narrower width?
I am aware there are many optimal angles in the arm and shoulder for the elbow shoulder mid-point as a result, is there a study on this? Is there also evidence to disprove narrow plant?

Great video. Please try to prepare your voice over / commentary Separately. There is too many ums und Rrs. That is a real shame. Good luck
