I love that Xiao sounds softer now, despite still having a gruff voice. It is a nice balance for the English version

If you try checking out his voicelines according to when they're released, and he actually sounds softer and softer each update xD
Like, compare his voice when you meet him for the first time in wangshu inn, then to the cooking event with xiangling, then to the interlude quest with shenhe / the 2.4 lantern rite festival, then lastly, to his voice here.
It might just be that Hoyoverse is trying to adjust his EN voice to match with the CN/JP/KR, but you can also just think of it that Xiao is slowly tearing down his walls around the traveler and I think that's kinda nice lol

Watching this trailer after finishing the archon quest hits different. I love every bit of it. The best so far in my opinion. Hoyoverse really never disappoints. 🥺🥺Can't wait for the rest of the story!
As a Xiao main even the voice of worry in his voice is scary, I listen to his confident voice every time I play Genshin but this brings something new to the table which I cannot wait to see!

my guess about why the twin is there: i think the domain is tied to the celestial needle, and has the same 'wish granting' properties - it makes ppl briefly see and believe in the illusion of what they want the most. so xiao probably sees one of his own comrade yakshas, or perhaps even the truth, while the traveler sees the happy and loving version of what they want most - their twin. it is an illusion meant to lure and trick the ppl in the domain to get them to stay longer and be 'devoured', as xiao puts it. i mean, the event is called 'hidden dreams in depths' after all!

Exactly. I think Traveler will ignore Xiao's warning to get out and will instead follow the illusion of their sibling, falling into a trap. Judging by the green-haired NPC, even Kuki Shinobu will see someone dear to her.

Love how Shinobu and Yanfei in the end drawing looks cool, Xiao and Yelan being the central character of the story/archon quest while Itto have that *"I'm just happy to be here"* kind of vibe
Among all the characters, only Xiao is still always alone, lonely and feels a heavy burden on his shoulders, his kindness is irreplaceable to continue to protect others, in his heart he wants to be with his friends but fate says otherwise, poor xiao 😔
My theory is that ‘evil’ guy with the glowing eyes is Bosacius, the other surviving yaksha. It’s been awhile since I thoroughly went through the lore surrounding the yaksha’s but Bosacius, which many including me theorise to be the 4 armed electro yaksha, was in the chasm when it collapsed. He probably got corrupted by whatever was down there, hence Xiao saying “No, if… still alive… why would you become like this?”
Xiao most likely thought they died alongside the other yakshas while fighting each other when they succumbed to the karmic debt.
Gah I’m so excited!! The only thing in the entirety of genshin impact that has my interest as much as the yaksha lore does is the possibly of Egyptian mythology being a huge part of the Sumeru storyline :D

The Perilous Trail domain was one of the coolest ones so far.
Both Yelan’s and Shinobu’s ENG VA’s are amazing, almost exactly how I expected them to sound. And of course the music slapped as always. Really excited for this update

When the update came out, to be honest I was a bit dissapointed on the amount of content they gave... But I guess I spoke too early. Holy cow, this update exceeded my expectations. The archon quest, definitely one of the best out there, and the events, it's actually more challenging than the previous ones. Because of this, I look forward for hoyoverse to continue what they just did, especially in the upcoming future updates!

im back for this trailer and holy moly the quest was just amazing. probably my favourite event storyline ever. the quest really made xiao more vulnerable and i quite liked it a lot since he’s always so tough and cold. it also showed how the other characters cared for xiao which i appreciate a lot.
i nearly cried during the final cutscene...it made me feel so emotional

I've been in this boarding school for about 3 months, that's from the 2.5 ver. I'll be back in about 2 weeks, cant wait for version 2.7 and all that I've missed and the chasm and of course the beloved genshin characters and their stories!!

I think it's not the yaksha but his evil spirit or hatred that remained after his death, that's why he is saying "die here with me".

place is connected to khaenria, even the millelith from 500 years ago participated in that battle (going by the world quest), i suppose the area where The Chasm was located was also another battlefield where Zhongli and his adepti fought khaenria forces and many of them perished, perhaps maybe one yaksha.

2.7 update was done in advance. They slowed it down so they could take some time before finishing up 2.8. 2.7 has been ready for a while now, actually.
