Back in 2022 when btc was at its cycle low, people where saying btc is done for it's going below $15k US it's going to zero. Well it's down 10% from mid March ath 2024 and now everyone is shitting themselves. That doesn't make any logical sense especially for crypto.Its just a shake out phase, chill people go zoom out at old charts. We are at around 1.4 trillion market cap and only growing, just wait and see the price next year in March it will double....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

Can I just ask a couple of question. I didn't watch the video just the title I was drawn to. So how does any cryptocurrency hold up when the grid is down? If there is any any sort of EMP attack that last a couple days, one week, two weeks, or even a month. How do you pay with crytpo? Is Crypto currency back up with something tangible?

My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. He says it’s scarce but what’s stopping someone from creating another proof of work/ public ledger that’s an exact carbon copy of bitcoin? Someone or someone’s created bitcoin to begin with. It’s not some magical element that fell out of the sky. It’s only as valuable as the code/coders that wrote it and programmed it, in other words what’s to stop more carbon copies of bitcoin from being made? This eliminates the scarcity point he’s trying to make. Also you can make an argument through etf’s and derivatives that the scarcity is already being manipulated. It’s called paper contracts and none of them are audited. The exchanges print fake commodities through paper contract’s thereby manipulating the underlying asset.
People could make a carbon copy of the US dollar today and no one would use it. Why? Humans have a fixation on using "real" things. Think about that for a second, its not false. Today there are many carbon copies of bitcoins. None of them are worth anything though. For the same reason. Money is a mutual agreement between everyone to use the same currency. We could each issue our own currency, but that doesnt happen. Because no one would use it. Actually it turns out the bigger the group of people using your currency is, the more valuable it is, this is called the network effect, and this is another reason why "just creating a carbon copy of bitcoin" would have little to not effect, and its the same reason why each person creating their own currency wouldnt make sense either. You could also make a copy of the British pound. But why would anyone want it?
Sure on paper its equally valuable, but, again, in reality, we both know it would fall flat. Thats why you cant "just" make a carbon copy of bitcoin and destroy bitcoin. Making the copy of bitcoin is the easy part. Convincing people to accept it as payment is the impossible part. For bitcoin it took years. The hard part is getting the ball rolling. When bitcoin did it there was no competition and they were anonymous and had no advertising. Today you couldn't launch an anonymous coin without advertising because youd be drowned out by the thousands of coins with marketing budgets, and you couldn't pay advertisers without revealing your identity.

Pretty sure that’s not how proof of work is defined. Consensus of people? You mean consensus among nodes that mine on the network? Last time I checked it’s nodes not people. Plus you never answered the question. What’s stopping a new bitcoin from being created. How is the value objective and not subjective at that point? Also if the main argument is decentralization you could argue that even btc isn’t decentralized considering over 80% of supply is held by less than 1% of wallets lol

Who’s going to do the mining when all the btc is gone to mine? Why should the miners keep mining?
Miners will be paid entirely in transactions fee's at that point. In fact, miners are already mainly paid in transaction fee's. So nothing really changes besides new coins not being minted.

How is it scarce when it is infinitely divisible? Also, when it is fully mined, you will pay a fee for every transaction.

You can also buy gold, index funds, real estate to preserve value… This has worked well for hundreds or even thousands of years. So there are alternatives to BTC

Ok....one of you explain why gold isn't as valuable or more valuable than bitcoin, gold's Bern around way too long. Bitcoin has been around 15yrs. Yes bitcoin is worth alot of moneyright mow, but it can also down down very fast. The volatility of bitcoin is very delicate. It could raise or drop in a heartbeat. So please explain why bitcoin is so valuable? Help Mr understand this

@moralhazard1 well smart-ass.....the amount of gold in the world is enough to fill a pool. For the entire globe......that's NOT a hell of alot. Ok.....sure.....you can bitcoin in seconds back hone for your family, but you CAN NOT walk into any store and use it as currency. You might be able to in the future, but not today. Gold.....go to a currency/bullion store and "cash it in". Whalaaaa, you have money. Gold has been around for 6000 yrs and is incredibly scars, not much of it. That's why the banks are buying it up. China being one major country that's buying up alot of gold......so they have bartering power. It might be that way for bitcoin too one day, but not right now.

@moralhazard1 here's one more idea to consider moralhazard.....companies are spending hundreds of thousands to dig into the world's hard crust to find as much gold as they can and have been for yrs. It's getting harder and harder to find. What value does bitcoin have again......oh yeah....people keep buying it. That's the value right now bitcoin has.
Theres asteroids in space made of gold, gold can be annoying to verify the authenticity. You can send someone bitcoin without telling anyone. To send someone gold its harder. A gold shipment could be seized or stolen. A bitcoin transaction cant be intercepted or prevented.
