- In various realistic battlefield scenarios at the Big Sandy range in Kingman, Arizona, the AMPV C-UAS prototype demonstrated the ability to accurately detect, track, identify, and defeat or disable stationary and moving aerial and ground targets. The exercise displayed the turret engaging with ground targets and utilizing a slew-to-cue capability to target both stationary and moving small drones with 30mm proximity rounds.
I’d like to see a test conducted against multiple kamikaze drones (like Lancer/Shahed) at the same time.
Maybe have them come in from multiple directions, and we see an engagement from multiple distances.
I believe that newer models of AMPV’s are coming out that not only have that drone defense shown in the video but also drone jamming capabilities built into the vehicle as well, things like this could be very useful in covering Infantry on the frontlines from drone attacks as seen in Ukraine, although jamming technology is still a bit questionable as it doesn’t stop artillery spotters and I’ve still seen drones bypass jammers by flying really high
Glad to see the AMPV getting a nice weapons system.
And what about speed? BMP needs speed, not weapons, this is not a tank
@@serhio250381 its top speed is around 68mph or 110hmph
can they hit missiles or rockets like gephard? & can they protect itself from projectiles few meters away from it? is it armed also with laser beam?
Fantastic. Build them as fast as possible.
In a real battle, she will fantastically beautifully burn
Love it.
I hope the sensor package on that thing is up to the task and that the weapons can handle saturation, because it the Ukraine footage shows us anything, it's that this is another large, tracked target.
Yes, it is, this is a huge goal for drones
Ahhh. if u made a "ADATS" for 20km i will be happiest man ever
Okay, those are off the shelves commercial drones what if I fly low level at night FPV drones using VR which the speeds are much faster than production drones i'm able to bypass the AMPV C-UAS....
MOOG
imo someone just needs to combine a drone with a camera mounted on top, which can land close to enemy lines, look up and us A.I to detect enemy drones flying above, then launches, tracks and destroys enemy drone with a nozzle firing something like expanding foam onto the flight surfaces.
the total package could be autonomous, and worst case someone gets some foam in the eyes so you can just flood the area with them without much worry about unintended human casualties.
Multiple drone with payload at very high angle of attack rushing directly toward the platform?
Cause Pavol can hit stationary or slow moving drone with his akm.
it has AI autoaim?
can it knockdown a barrage of hellfire missiles? is it an apc or tank iron dome?
I’m pretty sure it can only shoot down drones, Rockets move too fast and usually come in far too great quantity to intercept
War, has changed...
C-UAS + technical
Interesting that they are still using hydraulics being controlled by a MOOG, they could've used heinzman instead for a far more robust system that doesn't break down with a little bit of dirt on the control piston.
Hydraulics use a specific fluid, probably used it to make it uniform maintenance wise across the board. A lot of people don’t realize that the best options aren’t picked because it doesn’t fit the rest of the force. The most efficient or deadliest option may loose its efficacy if it can’t be properly integrated where as a sub par or not as efficient tool could gain effectiveness simply by being easily integrated. A good example is the use of the M230 over other alternatives, the fact that it’s the exact same weapon system used on the Apache means the manufacturing for ammunition and replacement parts already exist.
There's is such a thing as a wiper seal on hydraulic pistons, they've been used widely on heavy plant machinery for decades in dusty and dirty environments and are usually very hard wearing. It comes down to cleaning, maintenance of seals and routine checking of chrome on the piston rods to ensure longevity.
Valid points but you guys are missing the mark. MOOG uses purely hydraulic systems. Heinzman uses an electro-mechanical actuator for control of a hydraulic system. In military applications robustness is important, why use MOOG when they fail in even a relatively clean powerhouse.
Looks cruel but in an appropriate way.
Crack-backer
And Russia just jams the signal.
Russia actually cant just jam the drones which is why they are so effective at mopping up Fas babys
Which also jam their own signals
@@Boomkokogamez no dummy, they choose which signal to jam.
@@heiditiso4995 oh ok lmfao Russia is a joke
I’ve seen newer AMPV variants have jammers on their inbuilt as well
