Cam cant win the big games or stay healthy(I know nick foles is injury prone too) But personally I think Foles is the better choice, call me crazy. They went 15-1 and lost to one of the worst falcons teams ive ever seen xD I've always felt this was a Win-Win for the bears, because you give mitch one last shot to prove himself or you start a superbowl MVP. not to mention we are only paying 7-8 million per year for foles which is stupid cheap for a starter, how much you think new england gonna have to shell out for cam next year?
@@rhemmy8970 Respectfully... I'm calling you crazy..lol I'll take a Healthy Dual-Threat Cam over Foles ANY day. Cam's won some pretty big games throughout his career. He's now in a system where the coaching staff knows his worth and how to use him without running him into the ground and carrying the team by himself (Carolina). They'll probably give him a 3yr 80 to 90 mill deal. Or a 2 year 60. Nobody's expecting Stidham to play anytime soon. If he were the answer, they wouldn't have called Cam.
@@b-game2120 everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think foles is still the better option and the better QB and the cheaper option over the course of the next few years. But we shall see how it plays out. Newton is 3-4 in the playoffs with a superbowl loss and foles is 4-2 with a superbowl win and mvp. Ill take foles thank you.
@@rhemmy8970 Foles is the best QB coming off of the Bench. Once he becomes the starter and teams get enough film and start planning for Foles specificially, Foles falls off.
The only reasons GMs don't want Cam Newton is because they know he is better than their hand picked QBs and it will look their darling picks look bad. Egos > Wins

I think Foles is the kind of guy Nagy wants in his system. Newton is great, but I’m good with Foles as a Bears fan.

The biggest problem with this hypothetical is that Rich is assuming Cam would play as he is now with the Bears. Part of the reason he's doing so good right now is that Belichick shaped the team's play to fit around Cam. I highly doubt the Bears would be able to do that.

To be fair the Bears are 3-0, but Mitch lost the job and Foles has never been a long term solution, so in the long run I think Cam would've been worth a look.
That being said, I think Cam and Patriots were the ideal pairing.

I'm a bears fan and the media underestimates how good of a head coach Bill belichick is. It so disrespectful to the greatest coach ever. Only Bill could pull off the supercam return. No other coach can do what bill can do. I'm happy for cam he is in new england and I believe we great with foles. Guy defeated the qb goat in the superbowl,

@@derekrau8236 Supposedly as the story goes Pace was so enamoured that the starting QB for an ACC school was driving a used car around campus that he thought Trubisky was so down to earth and a great leader. Nevermind Trubisky had played football for like 2 years while Watson was a starting QB for 3 years of HS and 3 or 4 years of college and a Heisman Trophy winner IN THE SAME DAMN CONFERENCE.

Bears need a passing QB. Cams style of play doesnt work as well in cold weather. It'll be an issue in NE this year too, but BB will find a way to still utilize him in ways the Bears couldnt have adjusted too.
What makes you think cam doesn't pass. You saw the seattle game right? Or maybe the 8 years in carolina?
Cam threw for 900 yards in his first 2 NFL games and still we hear about him not being able to pass. He was undefeated against New England. He beat Philly when they were defending champs with his..... wait for it....... his passing. In 2018 he was an MVP through 8 games which would’ve been his second and he was better than 2015 that year and that was due to his.......you guessed it! His passing. Stop it with the false narratives, just say ur not feeling him.

Pace's achilles heal is QBs. He's built a team with considerable talent. But he can't pick a QB to save his life.
No... different playbooks and different required skill sets... Foles run Nagy's offense... Cam isn't built for Nagy's offense, McDaniels yes, but not Nagy's... it's not his style of play. In the end... The Bears will certainly draft a QB next year to be groomed... maybe not round 1, but by round 3 for sure... and groomed under Foles, who knows the system and offense well and how to run it. As multiple analysts have said, now the whole playbook is available... don't need Cam for that... Wish him well in NE, but he just wasn't a fit for Nagy's offense.
Fair enough but cam is still a more than capable passer.
Cam is a dual threat west coast offense qb that thrives in the short to intermediate pass game while also throwing deep very well.
Gregg Cossell breaks down Cam Newtons film very well he is essentially a bigger stronger faster Tom Brady in that they both excel in the short passing game. That’s independent of New England. Now that he is with New England it will be different. He can run Nagy’s system just like he learned Urban Meyers system, Norv Turners, and Josh McDaniels
@@Watchingvideoslikeu that would be a good read I think. QBs for Nagy are more in the Mahomes mold... Cam is excellent and now in NE we are seeing how much a better playcalling and scheme OC makes a difference. He was wallowing in Carolina the past few years and just wasn't being used right.

No. I don't think Cam would have been a great fit. We need someone that can make those deep throws and stay calm in the pocket. Cam is a running QB, just like Trubisky. Our system fits well with Foles and hopefully it works out. If not it's back to the drawing board.

i honestly dont get it, Cam, while a great qb, would not have fit the offense as well as foles does, foles has been in this offence before, had success and has good accuracy throwing the ball, cam is more deadly as a runner than a thrower and we see how that worked out for mitch, also why is this a conversation after foles nearly threw 5 touchdowns in less than a half of the game while cam threw1 td 1 int, had foles sucked i could see it but he didnt....

Cam shines when he is the sole biggest weapon to run the offense, the bears have too many weapons in ARob, Cohen, D Mont, etc. Bears needed a complimentary QB. I love Cam but I think foles plays a more complimentary role better.
Cam in Carolina was the only weapon. What are you talking about? The year he had a decent deep threat in Ted Ginn jr he went 15-1. It’s like you’re just saying things so you believe it, but it’s inaccurate

Keep in mind a lot of nfl “analysts” had trubisky as the best QB prospect that year. Also might have had concerns of Watson’s injury history. Not saying Pace doesn’t deserve to be fired for his boneheaded mistake.
