Additional information on Morphle digital Pathology Platform
Conventional digital microscopes involve a regular microscope cameras / smartphone attached on microscope with a camera adapter or eyepiece adapter. It limits the micrograph (microscopic photograph) to a single field image & is limited by smallest (4X) or largest (40X) objective FOV.
Whole slide scanning is a digital microscope with a high end camera + fully automated robotic stage & auto-focussing. Whole slide scanners captures 1000+ consecutive images covering the full tissue area and stitches them together to form a large two dimensional panorama image much like google earth photos created by satellite imaging. This large image is also know as whole slide image.
Checkout few example image captures by Morphle scanners from below:
    1. HE stained tissue biopsy image - morphlelabs.com/#he-map-tab
    2. ER IHC (Immunohistochemistry) stained tissue biopsy image - morphlelabs.com/#ihc-map-tab
    3. Pap smear with LBC (Liquid based cytology) image - morphlelabs.com/#cyto-map-tab
Common use-cases on top of digital pathology (whole slide imaging) are
    1. Running IHC quantification algorithms for KI67, HER2, ER, PR, PDL1 antibody stained IHC slides. This includes image analysis algorithms based on Machine learning & Artificial Intelligence techniques focus on morphometry for nuclei, cells & tissue architectures.
    2. Image analysis algorithms for medical research (cancer research) or Pharma research (toxicology studies for animal biopsies & more)
    3. Remote presentation of microscopy for education, slide seminars, webinars, group discussions, etc.
    4. Tele-pathology / tele-microscopy for subspecialty reporting from expert pathologists online. We have labs across Africa & Southeast Asia using morphle tele-reporting platform for cross-border expert opinions. Contact us to know more on how to set it up on sales@morphle.in
